Panama City launches Redfish Film Fest: ‘From Bayou to beyond'
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – One of downtown Panama City's newest and most exciting events got underway Thursday evening.
The Redfish Film Festival's opening night party began at 7 p.m. at the Sapp House.
The party's theme was 'From Bayou to beyond.'
There were also art installations on the second floor to represent Panama City 'Where we've been, where we are, and where we're going.'
Red Fish showcases documentaries.
PruittHealth hosts annual Spring Fling Festival
This year's festival will be showing 72 films, along with keynote speakers, panels, discussions, and more.
'Well, I think down here a lot of people aren't used to this type of vibe. Small town. But I feel like we're bringing elements from outside of Bay County in here to give our locals an experience that they haven't had before. It's celebrating the past, present, and future, really, of downtown Panama City,' attendee Jasmine Rizzuto said.
Day one of the festival begins on Friday. You can buy one-day or weekend passes.

Lake City Fire Company welcomes community for annual carnival
The annual Lake City Fire Company Carnival kicked off Thursday evening, with our own Tom Atkins enjoying the festivities. The event features children's rides, craft and food vendors as well as live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Backyard garage catches fire at West 38th Street home Winners of a raffle to benefit the fire company will also be announced. They'll walk away with bonus money if they're at the carnival for the live drawings. The highly anticipated carnival is all for a good cause.
