How to watch Love Island 2025 first episode - start time, channel and lineup

ITV Love Island returns to our screens this week, marking the official start to the summer of love!
The time has come - the show of the summer is back. We might claim we're skipping it this year, or insist it's past its prime. But like clockwork, we always find ourselves drawn back into the tears, drama and whirlwind romances that only Love Island can deliver.
2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the show and the 12th season. As ever, a stunning group of singletons attempt to find love on the ITV dating show, and we'll all be left hooked on their every word.

The series has introduced the UK to many household names - with the likes of Molly-Mae Hague, Scot Laura Anderson, Maura Higgins, Chris Hughes, Tommy Fury and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu just some of the previous islanders who have gone on to find love outside, and inside, the villa, and achieve big things.

Love Island is back on our screens tonight (June 9) and like always, we'll be tuning in every evening to watch the drama unfold. Here's everything you need to know about the launch episode.
When does Love Island start?
This year the season starts later, with previous runs starting a week after the May bank holiday weekend, around June 3 and 4. However this year, ITV opted to have the reality dating show start a week later.
The launch episode for season 12 will air tonight (June 9) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
As always weekdays, as well as Sundays, will host the regular show on ITV2, and Love Island Unseen Bits will be airing in place of it on Saturdays, giving viewers a look at some of the scenes that hadn't been screened previously.
Who is entering the villa?

The line-up of 12 singletons was released last week, and even that didn't come without the drama.
Just days after the line-up was announced, one contestant - Kyle Ashman - departed the villa for 'personal reasons,' despite ITV announcing he will be taking part in the show. An ITV spokesperson said: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the 'Love Island' villa as planned."
However, it was rumoured that he was taken off the line-up for an alleged machete attack in February of this year.

Since returning home, Kyle released a video online explaining the situation, in which he said: "Hello everyone, I'm Kyle. I just came on here to say, I'm sure you've seen the news circulating. I'm innocent, there was no further action.
"I'm not a bad guy, honestly, I'm not a bad guy. I'm a normal guy from a normal place. And opportunity arose to find love. I grabbed it with both hands and it's been taken away from me. I've seen all the support pages and, who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to go on Casa Amor or as a bombshell - get back in and show you who I really am, show you that I'm not a bad guy. We'll see."

Instead taking his place is 25-year-old pro rugby player Connor Phillips from Limerick, Ireland. He'll be joined by 11 other singles, including a Scots model, a musical theatre actress, a semi-pro footballer and a personal trainer. You can take a look at the full line-up here.

Lorraine Kelly teases new project as co-star asks 'where have you been'

Lorraine Kelly, 65, was quizzed by her ITV co-star Ross King on Monday's show after she returned to the programme following a brief absence as she addressed her whereabouts Lorraine Kelly found herself explaining her recent absence from her ITV chat show during Monday's episode. In the latest segment, Lorraine, 65, shared with her audience: "Our Ross is in Los Angeles for us, later Ross. Crikey, it's tough times over there..." ‌ Ross King, reporting live from LA, chimed in: "It certainly is, real tough times, terrible rioting. I'll tell you more about that later." ‌ He then inquired: "Apart from all that, what about you, where have you been?" Lorraine replied: "Oh I've been in the far north, I've been so far north I nearly came back on myself. I'll tell you all about it. "I sadly can't say too much about it now. In a few weeks, I might be able to give you more hints. I can even show you some photos, it was life changing and amazing. I'll phone you later and tell you all about it." This follows Lorraine's announcement earlier in the month where she told fans and viewers: "BIG FILMING ADVENTURES!!!! Heading to the very far north - it's going to be amazing - see you in a week's time! #happy #arctic #filming #adventures #exploration #joy", sharing she would be having a brief break from Lorraine. The conversation comes amid ITV's announcement last month of significant changes to the scheduling and production of its daytime programmes, which include a major revamp for Lorraine's show. ‌ From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by half an hour to run from 6am to 9.30am daily, and will be produced by ITV News at ITN at their Gray's Inn Road base in London. Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will still be produced by ITV Studios and will be broadcast from a new location in central London. ‌ In the 2026 daytime schedule for ITV, Lorraine will air from 9.30am to 10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year which aligns with the lead daytime presenters who host their shows around a seasonal pattern rather than throughout the year. During the weeks when Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will keep its 10am to 12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year, while Loose Women will occupy the 12.30 to 1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year - the schedule it held for over a decade until 2016.
