Ozzy Osbourne's six-word dig at Taylor Swift after being asked if he was a fan
Before his tragic passing on last month, Ozzy Osbourne revealed his feelings about pop star Taylor Swift. During an interview at the 2014 Grammys, the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness quipped a hilarious statement about the singer.
Black Sabbath legends Ozzy, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler scooped the Best Metal Performance award for God Is Dead. Whilst chatting to journalists after taking the top gong, the discussion took an unexpected turn.
"You said you were a big fan of Taylor Swift," Butler joked. "Yes I did," Ozzy replied. "Yes, I am a big fan of Taylor Swift." Then he leaned forward and quipped: "Who the f**k is Taylor Swift?"
The remark was clearly lighthearted, and Swift would go on to rule 2014 with her blockbuster record 1989, which stormed the Billboard 200's number one position for 11 weeks and boasted three chart-toppers including Shake It Off, Blank Space, and Bad Blood.
This comes as Taylor has today unveiled her brand new album alongside a striking image, as reported by the Mirror.
Of course, Ozzy wasn't completely oblivious to her achievements back at the time of his comments. In reality, he had already encountered the pop royalty and had praised her enormously.
That encounter surfaced later that year when Taylor appeared on The Talk. Sharon Osbourne recalled the moment her, Ozzy, and their daughter Kelly crossed paths with Taylor during a shopping trip in LA.
Sharon recalled Ozzy being captivated by her as she quoted him saying: "Finally, out of all the young, new artists, I've finally found one that is a true superstar."
Sharon went on: "He said he'd never met anyone that had the aura that you have, because your aura is one of elegance, and just pure, just genuine talent. And he said that you were like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, all rolled into one."
Sharon then flipped the question back: "Now, what do you remember about my Ozzy?". The singer responded that his lovely comments were "the sweetest thing" and mentioned how reserved he appeared during their meeting.
"He was too busy gazing at you!" Sharon joked. The Black Sabbath icon passed away on July 22, at the age of 76, with Sharon and children by his side.
In his final years, Ozzy had been fighting poor health, which he had discussed openly, but had remained committed to reaching Villa Park for his last show just days before his death.
Meanwhile, worldwide sensation Swift announced today on Thursday, August 14, the launch of her new album after weeks of rumours.
The chart-topper made an appearance on a podcast alongside her partner, Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce, and his sibling Jason, with more than 1.3 million viewers watching the live broadcast.
Despite being famously private and rarely giving interviews, the Bad Blood singer has shared some details about her upcoming album set to be released in October.
The new record, penned during her Eras Tour and recorded in Sweden, will comprise 12 tracks, including a duet with Sabrina Carpenter.
Discussing the album, Taylor revealed: "This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant."

Katie Price 'will no longer be gaslighted' after Peter Andre's bombshell statement
Katie Price's spokesperson has responded after the reality TV star's ex-husband Peter Andre issued a statement criticising her and accusing her of making "repeated lies". Reality TV personality Katie Price has responded after her former husband Peter Andre released a statement targeting her. He slammed her in an extensive post where he claimed she had been telling "repeated lies" throughout the years following their divorce. Katie, 47, and Peter, 52, have been apart since 2009, with the former pair having started their romance after meeting on I'm A Celebrity in 2004. The former partners share children Junior Andre, 20, and Princess Andre, 18. Peter lashed out at Katie in a statement released earlier today, where he claimed she had been spreading "repeated lies" and declared he wished to "set the record straight". Katie's representatives have now responded to the remarks from her former spouse. A representative for Katie informed the Mirror: "Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she's dealing with this the right way and it's now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was." Peter released his statement regarding Katie this evening, posting on Instagram: "For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today", reports the Mirror. "The latest comments about my children's welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children." He went on: "In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today." Peter wrapped up by telling his followers in the statement: "Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months." Earlier this month, Katie launched an attack on her ex-husband and his management firm the CAN Group, who previously represented her as well, following the launch of their daughter's new programme the Princess Diaries. She alleged that she hasn't been permitted to participate or help steer Princess in her career. She revealed that she's "upset" that her daughter is being represented by Peter's management team, who she claimed view Katie as "trash". The former glamour model, Katie Price, has voiced her concerns about the Princess Diaries ahead of its ITV debut. On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she expressed her disappointment that the CAN Group is managing her daughter Princess' career. Katie, who observed that her daughter is following a similar career path, stated: "I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I'm not allowed and I'm not welcome." She also reassured fans that Princess resides with her. While dismissing rumours of a feud, she said: "We get on like best friends, mother and daughter. Princess lives with me and she stays at her dad's. Now, she's been staying at her dad's the past two months because she's been filming her show." The CAN Group subsequently issued a statement which read: "As a company, our duty of care to our clients is paramount. We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families." More recently, Katie requested a meeting with Peter and her former management, the CAN Group. As previously reported, she said on her podcast: "I feel like I've missed out on so much and it's so not fair to bring Princess as piggy in the middle so I think it's about time all of us adults just sit down and talk about what their beef is with me and just get over it. Life would be such more at peace."

How now, as the Mirror reports, Peter has responded in a fierce Instagram post. The celebrity said: "For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. The former couple no longer have anything to do with each other. The former couple haven't spoken since their divorce, following the breakdown of their marriage in 2009. And Katie recently made her feeling be known about Peter's management team managing Princess' career. Katie said she was "very, very upset" at the situation and said she is being left out. She also said she won't be watching the new reality show, which she isn't a part of. The mum-of-five claimed she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after both Peter and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast recently, Katie alleged: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' In the documentary, Princess addressed traumatic memories of her glamour model mum Katie's divorce from Pete as well as her other very public relationships. In a candid confession, Princess said: "I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. "But I don't feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes. I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Now, Katie has claimed the family could benefit from sitting down and talking. She suggested a sit down talk with Peter and her former management The CAN Group as she said: "I feel like I've missed out on so much and it's so not fair to bring Princess as piggy in the middle so I think it's about time all of us adults just sit down and talk about what their beef is with me and just get over it. Life would be such more at peace." In the latest episode of the podcast, she also shared hopes for the former husband and wife to support their children together. Katie suggested: "There's no reason why both parents can't be there to support her." And speaking about her lack of involvement in Princess' TV show, she went on: "I have to clarify this; I don't care that I'm not in Princess' show I don't need to raise my profile by being in Princess' show I do enough stuff. I'm in the press every day. "All what I want to do is just whatever my daughter does – and it's the same with Junior – I don't care if I'm in the background, but I wanna watch her photoshoots, I wanna watch her do her signings – because that's what I did and my mum and you [sister Sophie Price] and nan used to come along and support and I'm proud of her and I just wanna be there with her."

Katie Price once branded Peter Andre's wife Emily 'disgusting' in a quickly-deleted rant
Katie Price and Peter Andre have been locked in a bitter war of words this week after the Mysterious Girl hitmaker released a statement explaining he had his two children with Katie living with him 'for their safety' Former couple Katie Price and Peter Andre are at war once again but it's not the first time the exes have clashed - with Peter's new wife Emily Andre even being dragged into things in 2022. Peter made a rare comment about his former spouse in a blistering Instagram update this evening, claiming that their two children, Junior and Princess Andre, have been in his care since 2018 "for their safety" as he publicly rejected Katie's call for a truce. Katie quickly retaliated, with her representatives telling the Mirror that the mum-of-five "will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was" and that the matter is "now in her lawyers hands. Back in 2022, Katie took aim at Emily, who shares three children with Peter. She shared a magazine cover featuring Emily on her Instagram Stories, branding her ex's new wife a "disgusting person". "My mouth has been shut for so long but I've had enough of people selling stories on me and particularly this so called woman @dr_emily_official," Katie began in the deleted Instagram Story. "Always said I don't want to be famous yet doesn't do too bad to stay away from media and TV and now trying to make a career out of it. So cringe she has used my children to make money in photo shoots yet covers her own children's faces up!". Katie, who was writing one year on from her drug-drive crash, then accused the doctor of "being jealous" of the relationship she has with her eldest daughter. "She claims to be a doctor who clearly doesn't have a clue about mental health," the mum-of-five continued in the post. "Oh and stopped my daughter from visiting me at The Priory when she wanted to see her mum. She is so jealous of my relationship I have with Princess and puts me down. Emily you are not and never will be my kids' parent so mind your own business, your so two faced and definitely not the person you portray to the public. I think your a disgusting person so stop trying to interfere in my life." Peter, 52, and Katie, 47, welcomed their first child into the world back in June 2005, when Katie gave birth to her second son - Junior Andre. Before splitting in 2009, the former couple also welcomed daughter Princess Tiaamii Andre into the world on 29 June 2007. Peter found love again with then medical student Emily MacDonagh - marrying on 11 July 2015 near Exeter at Mamhead House. The happy couple share three children together, Ameila, Theodore James, and Arabella Rose. Peter's statement shared in Instagram tonight reads: "For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today. "The latest comments about my children's welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight.
