Fourth man charged in connection with Bray playground death

Kris Kiggins (32), who is charged with violent disorder and possession of an article capable of causing serious harm, was remanded in custody by Judge David Kennedy to appear before the court again on May 1st.
The court heard Mr Moorehouse had died after he attended, by appointment, a fight between two rival gangs, at the playground in the Ballywaltrim area of Bray on January 19th.
Mr Kiggins, of no fixed abode but originally from the Bray area, is the fourth person to be charged in relation to Mr Moorehouse's death. Two men and a juvenile previously appeared before Judge Kennedy at a sitting of Arklow District Court last week.

Det Gda Ryan O'Neill of Bray Garda station gave evidence that CCTV had shown some 13 people involved in the affray. He said gardaí had recovered a range of weapons from the scene including an axe, an iron bar and a baseball bat.

Det Garda O'Neill gave evidence of arrest and charging of Mr Kiggins with violent disorder under section 15 of the Criminal Justice Act 1994. He told Judge Kennedy that he also charged Mr Kiggins with producing an article capable of causing harm, under section 9 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act,
Seoirse Fennessy, counsel for Mr Kiggins, instructed by Aaron Sweeney solicitor, applied for bail and said his client was willing to abide by strict bail conditions.
However, the application was opposed by Det Garda O'Neill on the basis of the seriousness of the charges.
Judge Kennedy remanded Mr Kiggins to custody to appear by video link at Bray District Court on May 1st.

Wicklow was charged with two offenses for intoxication in a public place and engaging in abusive or insulting behaviour on June 9, 2025, at Cooldross Close, Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow. The court heard An Garda Síochána responded to reports of a domestic dispute but instead they observed Mr O'Brein stumbling across the street. When confronted Mr O'Brein 'had a strong smell of alcohol' and began to shout 'get the f**k out my estate or I will kill your family' at gardaí. Mr Obrien's solicitor told the court that his client had been involved in a serious road traffic collision and had sustained a serious brain injury, which left him taking ten different types of medication daily. He had letters from Mr O'Brien's GP and from Brain Injury Ireland to attest to the severity of his injury. Mr O'Brien told the court he was 'ashamed and embarrassed', he has previously worked as a labourer and is only recently married. Mr O'Brein's solicitor added that 'Mr Obrein's actions were not his general demeanour'. Mr O'Brein is already serving a four-year driving ban and previously had a sentence suspended for three months. Kin actor, 30, appears in court charged over knife possession & faces €1,000 fine or jail if guilty amid continuing bail
KIN star Ryan Lincoln appeared in court this week where he was charged with the possession of a knife, the Irish Sun can reveal. Mr Lincoln is accused of possession of a knife 'which had a blade or which was sharply pointed' in the area of Balcurris Park West in Dublin 11 on August 12. The accused is also facing a rap for failing to provide a member of An Garda Siochana with his name and address after the member made the demand. The charges are contrary to Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act and the Public Order Act. Mr Lincoln was remanded on continuing bail and will appear again later this year. If Mr Lincoln is found guilty of the possession of a knife offence at District court level, he may be fined up to €1,000 or face up to 12 months behind bars, or both.
