3-star DL Viliami Moala announces decommitment from Oregon Ducks
Moala had been committed since October of 2024, but he announced this week that he wanted to open up his recruitment once again. Moala is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 451 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 51 DL, standing at 6-foot-3, 340 pounds.
The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, seeing as Moala was enrolled at Willamette High School in Eugene, teammates with fellow Oregon commit Tony Cumberland, a 4-star DL. Moala announced that he would be transferring to Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama.
With the decommitment, Oregon now has 13 members of the 2026 class, which now ranks No. 14 in the nation. That should improve in the near future, though, with 4-star WR Jalen Lott expected to announce his commitment on Tuesday, and potentially more big names to come in the near future.

Sean Payton on Troy Franklin's breakout season with Denver Broncos: 'It's happening'
After watching what Troy Franklin was able to do during his three years in Eugene, Oregon Ducks fans have not been surprised by what they've seen take place this training camp with the Denver Broncos. Over the last several weeks, Franklin has turned a lot of heads in training camp, establishing himself as one of the top pass-catchers in the Broncos' offense. The biggest highlights came on Saturday night in Denver's preseason win over the Arizona Cardinals, where Franklin had four catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-7 win. Afterward, head coach Sean Payton was not shy about discussing Franklin's breakout and what he expects from the former Duck in his second NFL season. "It's happening, and I'm excited," Payton said of Franklin's breakout. "He's had a really good camp. He's confident. I've said this a bunch of times, it has to happen on the field, and you guys that have covered this team or any other team, you see it in the preseason every year. Some players begin to make some plays, and it carries over. So that's why these games are important. Obviously, it's challenging when you're not going to play your starting group, but when you see growth like that, and every year we don't know who those players are going to be, but he played well tonight.' Franklin still has to work his way up the Denver depth chart, competing with guys like Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and Devaughn Vele, but with what he's shown so far this year, it's not difficult to see a world in which the former Duck carves out a large role in the Broncos' offense, working alongside Bo Nix. We will get to see one more week of Franklin and Nix in the preseason next week against the New Orleans Saints, and then the regular season action begins on September 7 against the Tennessee Titans. Yogi Roth leaves Oregon Ducks practice blown away by QB Dante Moore
Die-hard fans of the Oregon Ducks and even those who follow the program for several months throughout the year are, for the most part, aware of Dante Moore and what he can do. They know that he was a former 5-star player at UCLA, and they saw what he did with the ball in his hands during the Oregon spring game in April. Going into the 2025 season, the Ducks are largely aware of what to expect from Moore, and there are high hopes that he can lead this offense to great success. But when national media members come around and get their first look at Moore, you start to gain a new perspective on his talents and see him through fresh eyes. That's what happened this past week when the Big Ten Network came to town to feature Oregon's fall camp for a couple of days. During that trip, BTN's Yogi Roth got a look at Moore in practice and was blown away by what he saw. "When I look at Dante Moore, there are just so many unique traits to who he is and who he's always been,' Roth said. 'He's got such a unique ability to throw a catchable ball. He can place it all over the field. I think the play the position, two things get you in the door: one is your competitive temperament. Check. Two, you have to have incredible accuracy. And not like, ball here, but ball here on the front number. Watching him in practice today, the location of the ball, the tempo of the ball, the revolution of the ball, and the variety of throws… He's just really impressive." Of course, seeing a handful of throws in practice doesn't quite mean that Moore is going to be a star, but based on the word that has been coming out of camp, and the few bits of production that we've seen from him over the years, it's not hard to imagine a world where he finds a lot of success in Eugene. Going into a season where there are high expectations for Oregon, but not a ton of preseason hype as far as national talk shows are considered, Roth wanted to highlight Moore as someone who stood out. We're not in all of the meetings, we don't know all of the things that have happened throughout the majority of training camp, but from what my eyes show me today, I just believe that Dante Moore has the chance to really be an elite player in this league and around the country."
