Prolific car thief who led police on wild chases finally captured after being exposed by his McDonald's order

But in a bizarre twist, the 20-year-old's love for fast-food eventually led to his arrest.
He snatched the first vehicle, a silver BMW, from a car park on February 15 at around 10pm.
When the stolen car flagged up on police systems later that evening, West Mercia officers followed.
Roberts led the force on a high speed chase as he barreled through 30mph zones at 60mph.

He narrowly avoided smashing into another vehicle before evading the force.
The BMW was subsequently found abandoned in a remote area.
But, Roberts must have felt a little peckish after stealing the car, as officers found a McDonald's bag left behind.
It contained a receipt showing he'd been to the branch in Meole Brace, shortly after committing his crime.

Just two weeks later, the keys to a Citroen C3 were taken from a Shrewsbury property in Brougham Square.
And, the next night Roberts came back for the car itself.
Three days later, officers spotted the vehicle, and engaged in another pursuit when Roberts failed to stop.
On this occasion, the thief travelled at around 60mph in a 20mph zone, before recklessly driving down the A5 in the wrong direction.
Here, Roberts started speeding in excess of 100mph, and nearly crashed into a HGV.
The yob eventually stopped in a layby and tried to flee on foot, but officers quickly detained him.
Perhaps it was the second McDonald's that slowed him down, as investigations uncovered Roberts had scoffed a meal from the chain yet again.
This time, he had used bank cards found within the Citroen.
Roberts pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, fraud by false representation and two counts of driving while disqualified in May 2025 at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
A judge today sentenced the defendant to three years in jail.
He will also be subject to a four-year and two-month driving ban when he is released.
Detective Constable Tom Clough, said: 'I hope yesterday's sentence serves as a warning that we will work tirelessly to ensure those who cause distress to the public by taking what does not belong to them, as well as putting lives at risk by their actions, are put before the courts.
'Not only was he driving stolen vehicles, Roberts was aware that he was driving whilst disqualified and his willingness to engage in such risk taking to evade capture on two separate occasions is something that caused officers great concern.
'This was a team effort and if it wasn't for the commitment of my team as well as our roads policing officers, we couldn't have achieved such a good result in such a short space of time.
'I am pleased with the sentence at court, which I hope gives the victims some sort of closure, as well as time for Roberts to reflect on how dangerous his actions were, which could have had tragic consequences given the lack of care for the safety of others and himself.'

Why I want to meet my monster dad Ian Huntley Samantha was 14 years old when she discovered who her father was after she was asked to research "notorious crimes" at school, and stumbled across a pixilated photograph of herself and her mother on Google. In the aftermath of this revelation, she turned to drink for a year aged 17 and was taken to the brink of a breakdown. More than a decade on, she is still haunted "every day" by the murders, which shocked the nation and remain among the most notorious in British criminal history. Samantha says: 'Being the biological daughter of Ian Huntley has impacted my life in ways not many people would understand. 'I've dealt with severe anxiety, depression. I've been in and out of therapy for years. 'I've struggled a lot to come to terms with who I am and where I come from, who Ian is and what he's done. 'It's something that haunts me daily. I think about it all the time and I don't think it's ever something that will leave me. 'Every time I look in the mirror I see how much I look like him. I just say: 'No we haven't met before' but so often they look puzzled. 'I think I have other traits from that side of the family as I'm also the only one in my family that has asthma. It's so hard to be the child of what everyone says is a monster... Moment ‘worst driver ever seen' sends TWO cars flying in horror 100mph crash during police chase
THIS is the moment the "worst driver ever seen" sent two cars flying amid a country road police chase. It was then seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines. Despite police starting their sirens and illuminating their lights, the driver sped up, reaching more than 100mph and starting the police chase. He performed a number of dangerous stunts, not only driving way above the speed limit, but also weaving in and out of cars, and skipping a red light towards the A338. He was also seen mounting a kerb to overtake a vehicle, before speeding away on the wrong side of the road. The footage then shows the driver go the wrong way on a roundabout in his attempt to evade police. He overtakes a vehicle on the brow of a hill and narrowly avoid a collision with an oncoming army truck. The pursuit is then carried out in the direction of Marlborough and then onto Ludgershall Road, where the Volkswagen veers onto a dirt road on Salisbury Plain. They reach a long stretch of straight road, and whilst trying to overtake two more vehicles, the driver crashes into the rear of a white Citroen van. The van is caused to fly into hedges on the side of the road, before the Volkswagen collides in to an unmarked police vehicle that was ahead of the pursuit. This caused puncturing of the two nearside tyres of the vehicle being driven. Following the collision, armed officers can be seen running up to the driver's seat, shouting, "Get out the car now! "Show me your hands now!" The driver is then retained by police on the road. Marlon Henriques, 30, fled officers after he failed to stop when they caught him driving almost two times faster than the speed limit in Wiltshire. The car Volkeswagon he was driving had been taken from a housemate, and a police pursuit was authorised when he was spotted overtaking two vehicles. The 30-year-old has now been sentenced to nearly two years in jail for dangerous driving, as it put "numerous lives in danger". Salisbury Crown Court heard Henriques failed to stop for police in Bulford on June 10. Following sentencing, Wiltshire Police Roads Policing officer PC Webster said: "Henriques' driving is some of the worst I have seen. "He put numerous lives in danger through his speeding and reckless overtaking, regularly driving through red lights and the wrong way around roundabouts. "Stopping him involved excellent collaborative work between the Roads Policing Unit, neighbourhood and response officers, and I'm pleased he has now been sentenced. "This incident took place during the middle of the day, and I want to thank all members of the public for their assistance and patience when dealing with this matter."
