Save water; every drop of it contains life, it's nectar: CM

Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav performed "shramdaan" at Sheetaldas Ki Bagiya, located on the banks of Upper Lake in Bhopal on Tuesday under the 'Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign' by cleaning the ghats of the Upper Lake.
He also honoured the sanitation workers on the occasion.
The CM sat in a cleaning boat, interacted with the sanitation workers and appreciated their efforts at keeping the city clean. He also made an appeal to people to actively participate in water conservation efforts.
Yadav called upon the people to "save water in every possible way because every drop of water contains life, it is nectar. Our golden future is contained in every drop of it.
Saving water is both our need today and our responsibility for a better tomorrow. Water saved today will ensure a secure future".
"Saving water is not only the govt's responsibility but that of the entire society, every class and every individual. If we save water today, only then will our future be secure," he said.
Yadav further said the state govt was continuously working in a planned manner for the conservation, rejuvenation and sustainable use of all water sources in the state.

The campaign is a concrete step in this direction, under which the restoration and redevelopment of ancient stepwells, wells, ponds, lakes, and other traditional water sources is being undertaken. The chief minister said that everyone should contribute to saving water at their own level. He said that "If there is water, there is tomorrow," — this virtuous thought must exist in the heart of everybody.
Describing sanitation workers as "Sanitation Messengers," Yadav said cleanliness was not just a formal campaign but should be an integral part of our lifestyle.
Where there is cleanliness, there dwells Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth). He urged people to make cleanliness of their homes, surroundings, and public places a part of their daily routine. The chief minister appealed to all to actively participate in the campaign and give priority to the cleanliness and conservation of water sources.
After Sheetaldas Ki Bagiya, Yadav reached the historic old stepwell located in Bada Bagh and inspected the restoration work being carried out by Bhopal Municipal Corporation under the 'Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign'.
On this occasion, he said that the state government is moving forward with the concept of "Development through Heritage" and is giving priority to the conservation of old heritages.
Chief Minister Yadav said that our ancestors had created amazing systems for water conservation. Today, it is necessary that we rejuvenate those historic water sources and preserve them for future generations. He called upon everyone to participate actively in water conservation.
During the CM's visit, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani, mayor Malti Rai, municipal corporation general council chairman Kishan Suryavanshi, collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, municipal commissioner, other officers, local public representatives, social workers, and a large number of people were present.
