CML brings food truck experience to Wisconsin

Yahoo3 days ago

Cousins Maine Lobster (CML) is expanding its food truck operations to the US state of Wisconsin.
The new truck will launch on 14 June 2025, serving the Milwaukee community with its signature seafood dishes such as lobster rolls, New England clam chowder and lobster tots.
The brand's new Pink Lemonade Whoopie Pie will be offered as a special summer treat.
Motivated by the success of the CML truck in Chicago, entrepreneurs Chris Goeman and Kevin Smith wanted to bring the CML experience to Milwaukee.
They plan to roll out operations in Madison and Green Bay by 2026 and 2027 respectively.
A fourth truck is set for 2028 to further expand the chain's presence in Wisconsin.
CML franchise development director Lindsay Herberger stated: "Opening a truck in Wisconsin is a major milestone for Cousins Maine Lobster, and we're thrilled to do it with such passionate and community-driven partners as Chris and Kevin.
"Their excitement for the brand and deep local roots make them a great fit to introduce our Maine lobster experience to Milwaukee. We're excited to see the positive impact they'll make by creating local jobs, supporting neighbourhood events, and becoming an active part of the dining scene."
As CML continues to grow, it is seeking operators who are passionate about quality food and customer service.
The brand is targeting markets with a demand for high-quality, fast-casual seafood, including San Diego, Reno and other cities.
This expansion comes on the heels of the chain's announcement to open its 100th location by the end of 2025.

Starbucks unveils generative AI assistant to support baristas

Starbucks has announced the launch of Green Dot Assist, a generative AI-powered virtual assistant designed to support baristas in real-time. The solution allows partners to ask questions on in-store iPads verbally or via the keyboard and obtain conversational and instant replies, streamlining access to information needed during work. Green Dot Assist offers guidance on drink ingredients, equipment troubleshooting and staffing issues. Starbucks is piloting the AI assistant in 35 coffeehouses, with more to follow. Its launch is a step forward in the chain's focus on decreasing friction, streamlining operations and providing time for partners to prepare beverages and connect with clients. The coffee giant showcased the technology to more than 14,000 North American store managers at its Leadership Experience in Las Vegas. A broad launch is planned across Canada and the US by the chain's fiscal year 2026. Starbucks chief technology officer Deb Hall Lefevre was quoted by CNBC: 'It's just another example of how innovation technology is coming into service of our partners and making sure that we're doing all we can to simplify the operations, make their jobs just a little bit easier, maybe a little bit more fun, so that they can do what they do best.' In addition to Green Dot Assist, Starbucks is previewing its next-generation point-of-sale (POS) system, which aims to improve order accuracy, uptime [the time in which machinery is in operation] and partner workflow. The chain is testing pilot menu innovations via the Starting Five programme, in which select locations in the US trial new products. The introduction of the AI assistant follows a recent leadership reshuffle at Starbucks, with North America chief coffeehouse officer Mike Grams promoted to chief operating officer (COO). The chain has also unveiled a strategic price decrease for its tea-based beverages in its second-largest market, China. Del Taco expands to Louisville with new franchise agreement

Mexican quick-service restaurant chain Del Taco has unveiled plans for a significant expansion into the Louisville, Kentucky area through a five-store development agreement with new franchisee and local restaurant operator Karan Pandher. This move is Del Taco's first entry into the Louisville market. Pandher will lead the development and management of the five upcoming Del Taco outlets. Pandher stated: 'Bringing Del Taco to Louisville has been an incredibly exciting journey for me. The journey with Del Taco so far has been great and smooth.' 'As someone deeply invested in this city, I'm proud to introduce a concept that doesn't just serve great food but also creates jobs, builds connections and adds something new to Louisville's vibrant food scene.' The restaurants will showcase the chain's latest Fresh Flex design, intended to enhance customer experience with dual drive-through lanes and convenient pick-up lockers.
