Detroit strip club for sale for $1 million comes with unexpected perk
A Detroit strip club has hit the market for a cool $1.1 million - complete with classic stripper poles, a red stage and a liquor license for anyone who wants to get it up and running.
Real estate agent Timia Carter of Legacy Park Realty listed the adult entertainment venue this week, with the selling point: 'summer time is almost here.'
'Contact me today if you're interested in purchasing club - summer time is almost here,' Carter wrote alongside a video of the property on social media.
The video of the space reveals the classic strip club stage with dancer polls alongside the bar and a lounge area with couches and tables.
In addition to the liquor license, which has been thrown in for free, the site also offers its parking lot gratis.
The large lot can accommodate up to 80 cars with additional on-street parking available.
The property, which is located at 8050 Livernois Avenue in Detroit, also boasts 4,700 square feet of commercial space.

While the property's history and reason for sale remain unclear, the listing is being marketed as owner will consider 'obo' (or best offer)
The venue's Class C liquor license is described as 'clean, with no violations history'.
The club features a brand new roof, complete with all new decking, insulation and EPDM membrane.
The HVAC system has also been completely overhauled with three new units installed - one 7.5-ton unit and two 5-ton units.
The listing highlights recently upgraded electrical, plumbing and refrigeration systems throughout the building.
According to the listing, exterior repairs have been completed along with all new security lighting installation.
The kitchen also comes equipped with a new make-up air system and new exhaust fan for the hood.
The realtor describes the interior as solid though admittedly in need of cleaning.
'Solid interior - needs cleaning,' she writes.
The unusual listing quickly spread across social media platforms on Instagram and TikTok, with users sharing their reactions.
'If the police DNA-test that rug they'd probably solve 150 open cases,' wrote one commenter.
Another wrote: 'I'm gonna buy it and rename it the nasty kitty.'
Many shared their creative takes on what they would use the space for.
One user suggested: 'Honestly could turn this into an Airbnb.'
Another envisioned: 'Uhhhhmmm! With a little work that would be a NICE Comedy Club!!'
Many made jokes about purchasing the property.
'If this parlay hit tonight I'm buyin this spot,' one user wrote.
But other commenters took a more serious approach and saw the sale as a troubling economic indicator.
'When the strip club industry is tanked that is the number 1 sign of a recession. Buckle up for the ride. Don't buy cars don't buy houses, stop the Amazon purchases and hold the cash you have.'

That suggests some flexibility on the $1.1 million asking price.

Met singers' union gets 5% increase partly funded by $5M appropriation from New York state
The Metropolitan Opera and the union for its soloists and chorus announced a one-year agreement Friday on a contract. The agreement calls for a 2.5% wage increase plus an additional temporary 2.5% hike that followed the labor group's assistance in securing a $5 million appropriation in New York state's budget. The deal between the Met and the American Guild of Musical Artists starts Aug. 1 and runs through July 31, 2026. It must be ratified by the union. AGMA also represents dancers, full-time actors, stage managers, stage directors and choreographers. The Met said AGMA helped lobby the state government for the appropriation, and the additional 2.5% rise will sunset when the deal expires. Two other major Met union deals expire July 31, with Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians, which represents the orchestra, and Local One of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, which represents stagehands.

Trump-Musk induced Tesla slide points to market risks from massive stocks
NEW YORK, June 6 (Reuters) - The rift between President Donald Trump and Tesla chief Elon Musk has captivated the world as a political drama, but it has also become a Wall Street spectacle, highlighting the risk to equity markets from the world's biggest stocks. Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab shares slid 14% on Thursday as Musk and Trump feuded largely on social media, including the president threatening to cut off government contracts to Musk's companies. Although the stock modestly rebounded on Friday, Thursday's decline dragged down some of the most closely followed equity indexes, which are more heavily influenced by companies with the largest market values. Tesla's fall accounted for about half of Thursday's declines for both the S&P 500 (.SPX), opens new tab and the Nasdaq 100 (.NDX), opens new tab, which fell 0.5% and 0.8% respectively, on the day. The S&P 500 is generally considered the benchmark for the U.S. stock market while the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 (.NDX), opens new tab is the basis for the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ.O), opens new tab, one of the most popular exchange-traded funds. "It's a widely held stock," said Robert Pavlik, senior portfolio manager at Dakota Wealth. "When this big-name company that represents a sizable portion of the index sells off, it has an overall effect on the index, but it also has a psychological effect on investors." Tesla's decline points to the risk that many investors have long warned about, of indexes being heavily influenced by a handful of megacap stocks. Tesla is the smallest by market value of a group of massive tech and growth companies known as the "Magnificent Seven," which overall drove equity index gains in 2023 and 2024. The group has had a rockier 2025 so far, but more recently has been rebounding. The Magnificent Seven, which include Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab, Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab and Nvidia (NVDA.O), opens new tab, had a combined weight of nearly one-third in the S&P 500 overall as of Thursday's close. "If you're an investor and you own the S&P or the Nasdaq 100 ... you just need to be aware that you own a lot of exposure to a very small cohort of names," said Todd Sohn, ETF and technical strategist at Strategas. Tesla's decline on Thursday knocked about $150 billion off its market value, while its weights in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 stood at 1.6% and 2.6%, respectively. Tesla shares rebounded somewhat on Friday, up about 5% in mid-day trade, putting its market value around $970 billion. Microsoft and Nvidia, whose market values exceed $3 trillion, held weights of 6.9% and 6.8% in the S&P 500 as of Thursday. Tesla shares are down some 37% since mid-December, a period that has seen the S&P 500 fall about 1%, meaning its influence in the index has also declined over that time. The shares hold a broad influence among ETFs. Tesla has a varying presence in about 10% of the total universe of about 4,200 ETFs, according to Sohn. Those include the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY.P), opens new tab, which sank 2.5% on Thursday, and the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (MAGS.Z), opens new tab, which dropped 2.6%. "It's very important to know holistically what is in all your ETFs, because a lot of them are overlapping," Sohn said.
