2GB dominates Sydney radio as Triple M tanks and ABC Mornings struggles
The station's listener share was ahead of runner-up and FM leader Smooth FM by 1.2 percentage points. 2GB's overall share lifted by 0.8 percentage points, the largest increase of any station during this survey period (March 9 to May 31).
However, the morning slot, which is now hosted by Mark Levy following Hadley's exit, remained unchanged at a 15.5 per cent listener share. Notably, survey time slots do not always correlate precisely with program time slots. This marks a relative slowdown since the previous survey, which posted a 2 percentage point jump.
Levy, a former sports broadcaster, was appointed as the new Mornings host last year when Hadley stepped down after leading Sydney radio ratings for two decades.
Fellow 2GB host Ben Fordham's Breakfast show (5.30-9am) continued to lead the early slot, boosting its audience share by 1.1 percentage points to 16.7 per cent.
This figure beats runner-up station KIIS' Breakfast slot, hosted by Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'Jackie O' Henderson, by 4.2 percentage points. However, The Kyle & Jackie O Show did enjoy a bump, posting a 12.5 per cent listener share, up from 12.3 per cent following a 1 percentage point decline during the previous survey. It is the No.1 FM show for the 51st ratings survey in a row.
But in Melbourne the show's listener share dropped by 0.7 percentage points, less than two months after Sandilands threatened to pull the show out of Melbourne if its listener share failed to improve.
Triple M suffered the greatest drop of all Sydney stations, losing 1.5 percentage points of its listener share since the previous survey. It's now at 4.9 per cent, putting it slightly ahead of 2UE (4.7 per cent). Its Drive show shed 1.9 percentage points following the departure of Marty Sheargold following a furious backlash to controversial comments he made about the Matildas in February.

Father of three goes viral for taking horse to Bottle-O drive-thru in bid to save fuel
When Daryl Braithwaite said 'we'll be riding on the horses' in his 1991 hit, he probably didn't mean through the local Bottle-O. But 'that's the way it's gonna be' for an Aussie dad wanting to ditch fuel prices in the most Aussie way possible. Father of three Eathon White was on the way home from a trip to Kmart with his 13-year-old daughter for hair ties and blue tac, before making a very important pit stop. The pair atop of their horse, named Fox, were captured going through a Bottlemart drive-thru. In remarkable scenes, Mr White is seen pulling up to the window, while on the phone, before a worker steps out bringing two cans of bourbon and eftpos machine. Mr White then stuffs the cold beverages in his hoodie pockets, pays, and Fox swiftly trots off. 'The young bloke in the Bottle-O sort of turned his head and said 'what the hell's that?' and I said, 'yeah mate, you're looking at it. It's a horse in a drive-thru Bottle-o,'' Mr White said on the Today Show. 'He said, 'yeah but what do you want?' I said, 'a drink mate. I'm on my home, I'm thirsty.'' Mr White, a truck driver, said he already spends close to $200 a week on fuel, but has instead decided to leave his motorised vehicles at home for local trips around town in a bid to save the extra cash. 'It costs me nothing to ride him up the street and it makes people smile and it makes people happy and joyful and everyone stops and says hello. Nobody does that when you're driving a car,' he said. 'My daughter said to me, 'are you going to drink them on the way home?' 'I said 'No, I'm going to wait until I get home,' because I'm pretty sure the rules are the same for if you're riding a horse you're not allowed to ride and drink as if you are drinking and driving.' Mr White said travelling on horseback provide his kids with a sense of adventure unseen since technology took off and could do the same for others. 'They're stuck on their phones, they're getting anxiety ridden, depression ridden. No drive to do anything. Put them on a horse and they'll want to be outside all day, every day,' he said. Today show host Karl Stefanovic chose to see the funny side. 'So you're drinking-horsing and texting at the same time, with your 13-year-old in the back. This is why I love this country. We're taking the country back champion.' The next adventure: Mickey-D's. 'They want to ride on the railway line back into town and then go back up the other way so they get a good ride in and go through the drive-thru at Macca's.'

Sunrise star James Tobin reveals huge personal news
A popular breakfast television star has announced some huge personal news, just nine months after he tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. The Weekend Sunrise weather presenter, James Tobin, and his wife Farrah, who are incredibly private about their relationship, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a personal update. The two images featured a selfie of the couple and a sonogram shot. 'A bit of news from us … We are excited for the arrival of Baby Tobin in November,' Farrah captioned the set of images. Other famous faces were quick to congratulate the happy couple on their family growing in size. 'Fabulous news. So thrilled for the both of you. Sending tonnes of love,' Sam Armytage commented. Tobin, 44, wore a cream suit paired with a blue shirt and tie, and his beautiful bride wore a cathedral veil over her short white minidress adorned with beaded tassels. The couple ditched the traditional white wedding cake in favour of a two-tier chocolate creation, which they playfully smashed with a baton as guests looked on. The pair have been relatively private about their relationship since they began dating in 2021, rarely sharing details about their relationship on social media. But in October 2023 they couldn't help but contain their excitement as they announced their engagement. 'A bit of news … we're getting married. A lot of my life is lived out on TV, but I've also kept some things private because, well, not everything needs to be out there,' Tobin wrote on Instagram at the time. Tobin – who previously dated former Pussycat Dolls member Jessica Sutta – went on to say Farrah had been living and studying in Perth over the past couple of years, and was set to make the move back to Sydney.
