Josh Allen distracts himself from Hailee Steinfeld wedding with round of golf in LA

Daily Mail2 days ago

Josh Allen is preparing to wed Hailee Steinfield this weekend, but he seemingly made time to play some golf beforehand.
While the couple have kept the date of their big day a secret, it emerged that they'd be tying the knot on May 31 - this Saturday - when Allen's teammate Dion Dawkins leaked the news on a previous 'Good Morning Football' appearance.
Nonetheless, the Bills quarterback enjoyed some downtime beforehand as he was photographed with a golf bag at a Los Angeles airport on Wednesday
The reigning MVP went for a casual look as he wore a white baseball cap, blue t-shirt and charcoal grey pants, as a pair of headphones rested around his neck.
Of course, he'll be dressed smarter during his wedding, which Dawkins unwittingly leaked the date of back in March.
Speaking on 'Good Morning Football', Dawkins was asked about the wedding and immediately began to share more details than perhaps the bride and groom would have liked.
'Josh Allen is one of those guys and he sealed that deal,' Dawkins told presenter Kyle Brandt, before adding: 'Soon to come, May 31st.'
The budding presenter - who is good friends with Allen himself - then looked back in shock at the announcement of the date.
He's since stayed extremely tight-lipped about the wedding, recently telling Rich Eisen 'I ain't know anything about that' when probed for more details.
Despite his wedding fast approaching, Allen was present this week at Bills OTAs.
Buffalo coach Sean McDermott spoke on Tuesday and acknowledged how important Allen's presence was at practice in light of his busy offseason schedule.
'I think it says everything, right? He is the face of our organization. He's the leader of our team,' McDermott told reporters.
'Like any leader, in particular the leader of the team, those words that he says and his actions are exponentially impactful, to the whole roster, the whole team.'
The three-time Pro Bowler, who has established himself as one of the league's elite quarterback, signed a contract extension worth $330 million this offseason including an NFL record $250 million of it guaranteed.
Steinfeld has secured a number of high-profile roles in her emerging acting career
He and Steinfeld were engaged during the Bills bye week in November, when the quarterback proposed on a California cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The two were first linked in the spring of 2023, when they were photographed dining together in New York City.
Since then, their relationship has continued to strengthen, as she's been pictured at Bills games and accompanied him to the NFL Awards ceremony in February as he scooped up the MVP award.
There has been no information revealed on the location of the wedding, though with Allen landing in LA on Wednesday, it's possible they have opted to tie the knot in Southern California.

90s soap star, 47 looks unrecognisable three decades years after TV fame and new career

A STAPLE of Aussies soaps looks completely different now after ditching her TV career. Tempany Deckert, played Selina Cook on Home and Away for four years until 1998. 3 After the actress moved on from Home and Away, she had some roles in other Aussie dramas such as, All Saints, and treaded the boards in theatre productions Down Under. She decided to follow in the footsteps of her Home and Away co-stars, Melissa George and Isla Fisher, by moving to Los Angeles to try her luck in Hollywood. While she has appeared in some films and TV shows over the years, Tempany has largely moved away from acting and her new career path couldn't any more different than her character Selina on the soap. She teaches writing courses at UCLA, works as a motivation speaker and has published a massive 18 children's books. Tempany based in Los Angeles for most of the year and in between sharpening young minds, she took time earlier this year to appear in season 4 of FOXTEL's prison drama Wentworth. She also made a surprise appearance in the Emmy-award winning Netflix series, Dahmer, where she played a cop working the desk at a police station in one episode of the limited series. Tempany opened up on quitting acting, saying it felt like she'd dodged a bullet. "For me, I always wanted to give a really good turn at my writing, and I wanted to have children," Deckert told 7News in Australia. "I knew that if I had children and I was working on sets, it was going to be very difficult. You are working many hours a day and you don't get to see them that much," she added. "If I had gotten a bunch of jobs in Hollywood, I probably would have stayed the course because I love acting – but I probably wouldn't have gotten married and had kids." The actress also runs writing courses for anyone who wants to follow in her footsteps, including one called Write a Novel, Change your Life. She recently promoted an upcoming course on Instagram where she looked unrecognisable from her days playing Selina on Home and Away. Wearing dark rimmed glasses and minimal make-up, Tempany promised some more courses were coming soon. Tempany is also married to voice actor Brian Donovan and they share two children. She became an American citizen in 2020, but said her dream would be to return to Australia. "I'm trying to convince my Australian agent to get me a great job in Australia where we can move back for six months to a year," Deckert said. "That's the dream – to convince the husband to move to Australia." 3

X marks the spot: Bruised Musk says his young son punched him

A bruised Elon Musk explained away a black eye during a White House appearance on Friday by saying that his five-year-old son had punched him in the face while the two were playing around. Mr Musk made the comments during an Oval Office event with Donald Trump marking the end of the billionaire's formal cost-cutting role in the president's administration. Advertisement Mr Musk's visibly bruised right eye caught reporters' attention. Asked about the injury, Mr Musk said he was "horsing around" with his son, who is named X. "And I said, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face.' And he did," Mr Musk said. Mr Trump then interjected. "That was X that did that? ...X could do it. If you knew X." When he was initially asked about the bruise, Mr Musk brushed it off with his usual cryptic humour. "I wasn't anywhere near France," he quipped, referencing a recent incident where president Emmanuel Macron's wife shoved him in the face. Mr Musk said he didn't feel much at the time but it bruised later. The Tesla CEO is leaving the Trump administration after leading a tumultuous cost-cutting drive, during which he upended several federal agencies but ultimately failed to deliver the generational savings he had sought.
