DXB gears up for summer surge; over 3.4 million travellers expected
Daily passenger volumes are projected to exceed 265,000, with July 5 anticipated to be the peak day for both departures and transfer traffic.
To ensure smooth operations, Dubai Airports and its partners have activated a comprehensive summer readiness plan, focusing on safety, efficiency and guest experience.
Despite some delays and cancellations across the network due to the regional situation, the oneDXB community is working tirelessly to support travellers, maintain service continuity and provide welfare assistance.
DXB's operations are backed by a real-time monitoring and predictive system, helping optimise manpower and resources.
The airport continues to coordinate closely with authorities and airline partners, prioritising the safety of all guests and staff.
To help guests navigate the busy travel season, DXB recommends the following:
Smart Gates: Children aged 12 and above can use Smart Gates to speed up passport control.
Arrival time: Arrive at the airport no earlier than three hours before your flight.
Check-in options: Use online check-in, self-service kiosks and bag drop facilities at Terminal 3.
Home services: Book DUBZ for home check-in and baggage collection, allowing passengers to complete airport formalities from home or hotel.
Navigation tools: Stay updated with DXB Express Maps, a wayfinding platform accessible via QR code for real-time flight and gate information.
Accessibility support: DXB offers enhanced services for People of Determination, including marked routes, discreet assistance for Sunflower Lanyard wearers, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.
Once at the airport, travellers can enjoy DXB's wide of restaurants, duty free shopping and lounges to relax before their flight.

Abu Dhabi revises DARB toll timings, removes daily and monthly caps
Abu Dhabi will start charging Darb tolls for an additional two hours in the evening from September 1 and remove daily and monthly caps on toll usage. Making the announcement, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) said drivers will be charged AED 4 every time they pass a darb toll gate from 3pm, instead of the previous 5pm. The tolls will not be collected after 7pm. Meanwhile, there will be no changes to the morning period, which will remain 7am to 9am. The tolls will continue to be clocked Monday through Saturday, with no fees collected on Sundays and official public holidays. The authority added that caps on daily toll usage of AED 16 will be removed, along with monthly limits of AED 200 for private vehicles. Currently, monthly daily limits are AED150 for a send private vehicle and AED100 for a third or any additional vehicle. Eligible groups, including People of Determination, low-income families, senior citizens and retirees, will be exempted from the new rule.

Big change for Abu Dhabi drivers — the Darb toll system is getting a shake-up starting Monday, September 1. The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced longer evening toll hours and the end of daily and monthly fee caps. Longer Evening Charges Currently, drivers only get charged in the evening from 5pm to 7pm. From September, that window will stretch from 3pm to 7pm, Monday through Saturday. Instead, every pass through a gate will now cost Dh4 — no matter how many times you cross. That means more trips could mean a bigger bill. DXB set to welcome over 3.6 million guests during back-to-school peak
Dubai International (DXB) is gearing up for a busy end to the summer holidays, with families returning from vacation and students travelling back to Dubai ahead of the new academic year. Between 13 and 25 August 2025, DXB is expected to welcome more than 3.6 million guests, with daily averages reaching 280,000. The busiest day is forecast for Friday, 15 August, with traffic set to exceed 290,000. The back-to-school surge follows a record-breaking first half of 2025, which saw Dubai welcome 9.88 million international overnight visitors—a 6% increase year-on-year—and DXB handle over 46 million guests, reaffirming its position as the world's biggest international airport. Dubai Airports is working with the oneDXB community including airlines, control authorities, and commercial and service partners, to ensure a seamless, stress-free journey for every guest during this busy travel period.
