Informed Home Minister, still waiting for a response, says Tamil Nadu MP on chain snatching in Delhi
Maintaining that she has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Ramakrishnan told The Indian Express, 'The Home Minister was informed about the snatching but he hasn't reacted even once. The Delhi Police is under the Home Ministry, not the state government. I am his (Home Minister) colleague and there is still no response.'
'I didn't see a single policeman or patrol car that day. The police are saying they have increased security for Independence Day, where is it? If the government is not reacting when it comes to a colleague who is an MP, I don't know what common women go through,' she added.
On Monday morning, a scooter-borne man had snatched her gold necklace while she was on a morning walk in Chanakyapuri with MP Rajathi Salma. The Mayiladuthurai MP was staying at Tamil Nadu House to attend the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
Alleging that 'Delhi is simply not safe', Ramakrishnan said, 'This is irrespective of MPs, women or children; it's not safe for anyone.' She added, 'I was too traumatised to go for my daily walk today… My clothes were torn in the incident. I had to return to the guest house in that state.'
'…We saw a police patrol car around two minutes after we returned. I told one of the police officers what had happened. I thought they would alert the traffic police or someone, but they just took my phone number and took me to the police station,' said Ramakrishnan, adding that she expected the police to give the snatcher a chase since it had not been very long since the incident.
Ramakrishnan said that she was grateful that her influence as a member of the Parliament got her speedy access to the police and higher authorities. 'Everyone says crime is common in Delhi. They tell women not to go out after dark, they say 'keep your phone carefully, don't wear heavy jewellery'. Is this supposed to be the image of the Capital?'

Bandi Sanjay accuses Congress of betraying BCs with ‘Muslim Declaration' agenda
Hyderabad / New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar launched a blistering attack on the Congress party over its protest at Jantar Mantar, alleging that the dharna was not for Backward Classes (BCs) but a covert push for Muslim reservations. He claimed the Congress had abandoned its Kamareddy Declaration and was now pursuing what he termed the 'Mumtiki Muslim Declaration.' Addressing the media on Wednesday in the national capital, Bandi Sanjay accused Congress of conspiring to allocate only 5% reservations to BCs while diverting an additional 10% to Muslims under the guise of the BC Bill. 'This is not a BC Declaration—it's a Muslim Declaration. Congress is cheating BCs and trying to implement 100% Muslim reservations,' he said. He asserted that the Congress dharna lacked genuine support from BC communities and warned that the BJP would only support the bill if it ensured 42% reservations exclusively for BCs. 'Otherwise, we will block it. Ambedkar opposed religious reservations, and so do we,' he declared. Bandi Sanjay challenged Congress to a public debate on its historical treatment of BCs, questioning whether any BC had ever been made Prime Minister or Chief Minister during its decades-long rule. 'If this poisonous tree isn't uprooted in Telangana, it will spread across the country,' he said. Revanth a ‘dramebazz', says Harish; dubs his BC quota fight as flop show
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao on Wednesday said that the drama of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his team going to Delhi in the name of 42 per cent quota for BCs has become an utter flop as even Rahul Gandhi did not come to the fake protest organized in Delhi. Harish Rao said that despite being very close to the dharna spot, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not come and their party's president Mallikarjuna Kharge did not come, stating that Bihar was more important to them than BCs. It has become clear that there was no honesty in Revanth Reddy's dharna and that Rahul Gandhi and Kharge, as well as the people of Telangana, do not believe in the words that 42 per cent quota for BCs will be implemented.
