Ready To Fly Abroad? Here's Your Essential Travel Paperwork List
Before flying abroad, make sure all your travel documents are in order to save yourself from the last-minute stress and chaos.
Planning an international vacation is exciting, but packing your bags isn't the only thing to focus on. One missing document can delay or even ruin your plans. That is why it is important to double-check all your travel paperwork before you leave.
Here is a simple checklist to make sure you are ready and stress-free when you head to the airport.
Passport and Visa: You can't leave the country without a passport. Make sure it is valid for at least six months beyond your return date; many countries won't let you in otherwise. Visas depend on your destination: some offer visa-on-arrival, some need e-visas, and others require you to apply in advance. Always check your destination's visa rules and apply early, as it may take time to get approved.
Flight Tickets and Hotel Bookings: Keep your flight tickets and hotel confirmations handy, both in print and digital form. Some countries may ask for these at immigration, and it helps to have backups in case of no internet.
Photo ID Proof: Carry a government-issued ID like your Aadhaar card or driver's license. These may be needed for hotel stays or emergencies. Keep originals, photocopies, and also store digital versions safely on your phone or cloud.
Activity & Event Tickets: If you have pre-booked tours or events, save the tickets in your phone and carry printouts too. Some places only allow entry with bookings, so don't take chances.
Emergency Contacts and Medical Info: List important numbers, including your embassy, in case of emergencies. If you are on medication, bring your prescriptions and a doctor's note, especially for special medicines or equipment.
Local Currency: Don't rely only on cards or digital payments. Carry some cash in the local currency for small expenses like taxis, tips, or local shops. Exchanging money before your trip often gets you better rates.

Mumbai-Bound IndiGo Flight Delayed Over 4 Hours Due To Flat Tyre At Jabalpur Airport
Last Updated: A Mumbai-bound IndiGo aircraft at Dumna airport in Jabalpur was delayed over four hours due to a flat tyre. Passengers were rerouted via Bengaluru and Delhi. A Mumbai-bound IndiGo aircraft developed a flat tyre in the apron of the Dumna airport in Jabalpur on Monday, delaying its take-off by more than four hours, an airport official said. The IndiGo plane was to return to Mumbai at 12.40 pm, but was delayed due to a tyre problem. Most of the passengers of the stranded flight were later flown to their destination via Bengaluru and Delhi after a replacement tyre was flown in from Delhi, he said. IndiGo spokesperson could not be contacted for comments. The IndiGo flight arrived at the Dumna airport from Mumbai at noon. One of the tyres of the aircraft deflated while it was parked in the apron after the passengers had alighted safely, Dumna Airport Director Rajeev Ratan Pandey told news agency PTI over the phone. The delayed flight with some passengers onboard returned to Mumbai at 5.30 pm after the rear tyre was replaced, the director said. view comments First Published: August 04, 2025, 21:33 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. India's passenger numbers grew 11.1% over 2023, when it handled 211 million flyers, overtaking Japan, which recorded 205 million passengers, despite growing faster at 18.6%, news agency PTI reported. 'The US remains the world's biggest aviation market with 876 million passengers in 2024 on the strength of its domestic market, growing 5.2 per cent year-on-year. 'China was the second-biggest passenger market, with 741 million passengers, a growth of 18.7 per cent compared to 2023," it said in a release. While India stood at the 5th place, the UK at the 3rd spot (261 million passengers) and Spain at the 4th position (241 million). These figures include both domestic and international passengers arriving or departing from each country. Among global airport pairs, the Mumbai–Delhi sector carried 5.9 million passengers in 2024, placing it 7th worldwide. The Jeju–Seoul (CJU–GMP) route in South Korea topped the chart with 13.2 million passengers. The Asia Pacific region led in growth with 22.8% more premium flyers year-on-year (21 million travellers). However, economy class travel in the region grew faster, up 28.6% to 500.8 million passengers. In contrast, regions such as Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America experienced faster growth in premium travel compared to economy. Europe continued to be the largest market for international premium passengers, recording 39.3 million travelers, while the Middle East had the highest proportion of premium flyers at 14.7%. In 2024, Boeing's B737 topped global aircraft usage, operating 10 million flights and generating 2.4 trillion Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs). It was followed by the Airbus A320 with 7.9 million flights and 1.7 trillion ASKs, while the Airbus A321 ranked third with 3.4 million flights and 1.1 trillion ASKs. ASK is a key metric used in aviation to measure passenger-carrying capacity. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
