Hamdan bin Mohammed approves 17,080 new affordable homes in Dubai
As part of Dubai's Affordable Housing Policy, Sheikh Hamdan approved the allocation of 1.46 million square meters of land for the development of 17,080 residential units. Education policy enhances Arabic Language and Islamic studies
In support of the Dubai Education Strategy 2033, Sheikh Hamdan approved a new policy aimed at improving outcomes in Arabic language and Islamic studies in private schools. The policy emphasizes promoting national values and identity from an early age and aims to raise academic performance through collaboration between education providers, experts, and parents. It also seeks to empower Emirati teachers and modernize teaching methods.
Independent Legal Consultant Project
Sheikh Hamdan also approved the Independent Legal Consultant Project, a flexible licensing model that allows Dubai citizens to practice legal consultancy independently without the need for a physical office. This initiative encourages Emiratis to explore new opportunities in the legal profession and aligns with Dubai's goal of fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and work-life balance.
Project implementation and future goals
The affordable housing project is in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and will be overseen by the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning. It aims to create accessible housing for residents of all income levels while contributing to the city's overall development. The new education policy aims to help Dubai rank among the world's top ten cities for education quality, while the legal consultancy project offers Emiratis the chance to provide legal advice in specific fields.

A grand mural portraying Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum overlook the property, with a steady stream of water pouring down. The water flows along the length of the property and comes from the Hatta Hydroelectric Plant. It is the largest mural of its kind in the world, and together with the waterfalls, it ties the project back to both legacy and sustainability. Hatta's new hotspot Buildings line the periphery of the area, which will soon be restaurants and retail shops. The area is currently open to the public, but the shops, according to the signs on the front, will be opening soon. Ministry of Education announces full readiness for academic year 2025-2026, removes centralised tests at end of second semester
19 Aug 2025 18:54 ABU DHABI (WAM) The Ministry of Education (MoE), in cooperation with the UAE Government Media Office, held a media briefing in the presence of Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, to outline its key preparations and development plans for the academic year 2025–2026, in line with national briefing was also attended by Mohammed Al Qassim, Under-Secretary of MoE; Sulaiman Al Kaabi, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Professional Development Sector; and Amna Al Saleh, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Curriculum and Assessment Sector, along with representatives of local media Amiri confirmed that since January, the MoE has been developing proactive plans to ensure public schools' readiness for the academic year 2025–2026, covering all aspects from facilities to advanced curricula. She noted that this year will introduce qualitative updates to boost the competitiveness of national education, including fundamental changes to the assessment tests at the end of the second semester have been removed and replaced with school-based summative assessments, with centralised tests remaining only in the first and third semesters. In the next academic year, the Educational Competency Assessment Project will target more than 12,000 cadres across kindergarten and Cycle 1 levels and 11,000 cadres across Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 in order to define clear career paths and empower staff in line with national education system requirements.
