A Place in the Sun couple REFUSE to look around one property after they spot major issue
The awkward moment happened on a recent episode of the Channel 4 property show, which sees prospective buyers look abroad for their dream foreign home.
Presenter Jean Johansson was tasked with helping couple Nat and Dave from Wiltshire find a holiday home in Lanzarote.
The pair have travelled to the Spanish island several times a year for roughly the last decade - so were ready to make a purchase, on their budget of £160,000.
They wanted somewhere with one bedroom, outdoor space and enough room to host family and friends for social gatherings - all no more than a 15-minute walk from the beach.
Jean showed them five properties over the course of the episode - but it was the third home where she encountered the real snag, Leicestershire Live reports.
As they entered the flat in the resort town of Playa Blanca, Dave immediately noticed a problem - the top of the door frame was far too low.
The presenter cautioned, 'Mind your head', as he stooped to enter - to which he quickly replied: 'This is going to be an issue.'
Not just for him either: 'And for our son, who is 6ft 8in.'
Dismayed, Jean responded: 'He is really going to have to duck down.'
Put off straight away by the height issue, Nat and Dave said they had no interest in seeing the rest of the flat - and chose to leave immediately.
Jean did not have much luck with some of the other properties, though the Wiltshire couple's rejection of the alternatives was not quite so outright.
The first flat, in the heart of Lanzarote's main tourist town Puerto del Carmen, had a stunning open-plan living area and two bedrooms.
Nat commented: 'Overall, the inside is beautiful.'
But the couple ultimately agreed it was 'not quite what we imagined' - above an Irish pub, and close to other watering holes too, they decided the hectic location was a definite 'no'.
They also turned down the fourth property because of the location - this time because it was too residential.
And the fifth flat did not seem to please them either, with Nat saying she could not move past how poorly maintained the block as a whole was.
But luckily for Jean, all was not lost, as the couple were delighted by the second property she showed them.
In a tranquil spot in the town of Costa Teguise, Nat and Dave fell in love with the property, which boasted a pool, an open-plan living area, sea views and plenty of both indoor and outdoor space.
Nat said: 'This is the dream... I can just see myself sitting there on a little bench with a glass of wine looking at the sea.'
The flat captured the pair's hearts and they decided to put in an offer.
After a long negotiation process, they eventually secured the flat for £141,300 - nearly £20,000 under their initial budget of £160,000.
It comes after a buyer on another recent episode of A Place In The Sun broke down in tears after making an offer on his dream property.
Married couple Rick, an engineer, and retired PA Inge, from West Sussex, appeared on the Channel 4 programme to try to find a place in western Cyprus.
Jean explained they planned 'to escape the long British winters and have the perfect holiday home'.
With a budget of £260,000, they wanted a detached villa with plenty of outdoor space so they could adopt cats.
After viewing several properties, Rick and Inge decided to put an offer on one which boasted sea views, a pool and three bedrooms.
'I think the outside space that comes with this property will absolutely wow Rick and Inge,' Jean gushed during the viewing.
Priced at £282,000, the home certainly did impress and at the end of the instalment the couple decided to put an offer of £272,000 in.
'You saved the best until last,' Inge commented.
The couple looked nervous as they waited for the offer to be presented to the buyer, with Rick commenting: 'I think it's a life ambition coming true.'
But the estate agent sooncalled back and confirmed the offer had been accepted.
Both were ecstatic by the news and Rick appeared to wipe tears from his eyes as Inge comforted him.

Newly engaged Georgina Rodriguez shows off her jaw-dropping curves in tiny white shorts and bra as she flashes dazzling diamond rings in beach snaps
Georgina Rodriguez sent temperatures soaring in a slew of sexy beach snaps as she showed off her dazzling diamonds. The Argentine-Spanish model, 31, posed in a skimpy white Alo set including skimpy shorts and a bra. The fiancé of Cristiano Ronaldo was a vision while striking poses with confidence by the Red Sea shore, capturing a stunning sunset behind her. And the WAG also didn't shy away from displaying her eye-watering jewellery, after the Portoguese football legend, 40, proposed to her last week. She wasn't wearing the jaw-dropping 30 carat ring, said to be worth $3 million, Cristiano proposed with, but instead rocked another huge diamond she has previously been spotted wearing. The couple announced they are set to wed after almost a decade together in an Instagram post on Monday evening. Confirming their engagement the Latina beauty wrote: 'Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.' Up until now, Georgina has worn a different diamond ring, but the couple were understood to have not been engaged during this time. Fans have speculated the pair got engaged last month after the model shared pictures of a bridal-themed dinner, complete with 'C heart G' pillows, a six-piece band and stunning white flower arrangements. She also wore a giant sparkler on her wedding ring finger, hinting at the pair's secret engagement. Georgina and Ronaldo's celebrity pals congratulated the pair on their engagement in the comments. Lauren Sanchez Bezos commented: 'So happy for you. ❤️', Fellow WAG Taylor Ward wrote: 'Amazing, congratulations ❤️❤️' Charlotte Tilbury wrote: 'Darling, what fabulous news!!! Sending you both heartfelt congratulations and so much LOVE!!' Piers Morgan penned: 'Wonderful news! Many congrats to you both'. The footballer only recently hit the headlines when he admitted that he would not propose to the mother of two of his children until everything had 'clicked'. He said on Netflix: 'I always tell her, 'when we get that click.' Like everything with our life, and she knows what I'm talking about. 'It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I'm 1000% sure that it'll happen.' The couple have been in a relationship since 2016 and have daughters Alana, seven, and two-year-old Bella together. She is also the stepmother of his other three children. In an interview for her Netflix reality show I Am Georgina, the model told how she has been teased by friends over when she will get married. She said: 'They're always joking about the wedding. 'When is the wedding?' Since Jennifer Lopez's song 'The Ring Or When' came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me.' Even though they aren't married, Cristiano has frequently referred to Georgina as his 'wife in the past'. In December, at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, he said: 'It's a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here.' And in a game of Mr. and Mrs. on his YouTube channel back in late August, he gave her the same title. In the same video, the couple also appeared to be wearing wedding rings. Following the surprise title, another video resurfaced, where he casually called Georgina his wife whilst discussing his morning routine. Speaking on the WHOOP podcast, he said: 'I take my coffee when I start my day. It's my the morning, I take my coffee, speak with my kids, with my wife and start the day.' With Ronaldo plying his trade in Saudi with Al-Nassr, the couple reside in the capital Riyadh. The happy news comes after the pair were devastated when they lost one of their twins during Georgina's childbirth in 2022. They were devastated when their male twin tragically died - a loss they later described as 'the greatest pain.' 'It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,' read an announcement shared by the couple. 'Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. 'We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.

Funniest Jokes of the Fringe 2025: Here are the 19 best jokes told in Edinburgh this year
Comedian Andrew Maxwell famously once called the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 'exams for clowns', and each year it's the comics with the best jokes who get the 'A' grades. The Edinburgh Comedy Award (formerly the Perrier Award) is handed out each year to the top clown in the class, and in 2008 it was joined by The Funniest Joke of the Fringe Award. Presented by television channel Dave, each year a shortlist of 10-15 jokes was drawn up by some of the leading comedy critics and comedians in the UK. Designed to celebrate 'the art of joke writing' and making people laugh, the general public then voted for the eventual winner. Last month it was announced that 'U&Dave's Funniest Joke Of The Fringe' would be scrapped from the 2025 Fringe, with the TV station behind the gong saying it is 'resting'. But both the ISH Comedy Awards and the new '(Some Guy Called) Dave Joke of the Fringe' have stepped into the vacuum to find the finest wisecracks in the Capital's comedy clubs, lecture hall and pub basements. Here are the 19 deemed good enough to be shortlisted. 1 . Andy Gleeks I had to visit the trauma unit last weekend. He prefers the term dad. | Contributed Photo Sales 2 . Dave Bibby I wrote a time travel joke but you didn't like it | Contributed Photo Sales 3 . Dickie Richards I'm not one to brag about the size of my willy but I've just been charged with decent exposure. | Contributed Photo Sales 4 . Dean Coughlin I just had my dog chipped. Now I can play my old PlayStation games on it. | Contributed Photo Sales
