Celta Vigo finally tie up deal for Real Betis star
That's according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Borja Iglesias as the player in question.
Frontman Iglesias for his part spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Celta Vigo.
And the 32-year-old, for the most part, went on to impress. Across 37 total league appearances (24 starts), Iglesias racked up 11 goals, and three assists.
This haul included a hat-trick at champions Barcelona back in April.
Celta Vigo, in turn, had long kicked into gear negotiations with their counterparts at Real Betis, over a permanent deal for Iglesias.
And as alluded to above, after several months of contrasting reports regarding the status of these talks, on Monday, the Celestes finally appear to have landed their man.
As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:
'Borja Iglesias to Celta, agreement finalized between the parties as reported by AFDLP. The clubs are already exchanging documents.'

‘What you notice about Kylan Mbappe is…' – Xabi Alonso on individuals and Franco Mastantuono
Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso appeared most happy with match-winner Kylian Mbappe and debutant Franco Mastantuono following his first La Liga game in charge. Their 1-0 win over Osasuna was also occasion for kind words for the returning Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao. Los Blancos ran out victors in the end with two debuts in Alvaro Carreras and Mastantuono, while Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold also made their first appearances at the Santiago Bernabeu. 'What I saw was that neither the shirt nor the Bernabeu weighed on them. The four of them had performances, that were good, serious, perhaps not spectacular, but correct. Franco ruffled some feathers when he came on, and added attitude. I'm happy with the victory though, and I'm happy to return to the Bernabeu. You imagine what you can achieve, and it excites you.' Outside of Huijsen, Mastantuono was perhaps the most exciting of the lot. 'We saw some of the things we could get out of him, and he has the look of a good player right? It's true he hasn't been training with us, but he has been preparing himself. And today, well the emotional side maybe weighs more than the physical.' Alonso notes difference in Kylian Mbappe The new Real Madrid manager also felt that he was seeing a difference in Mbappe, whether it be down to him wearing the number 10 or not. 'I think Kylian, after the first year, and having done a lot of good things, wants more. I don't know if that is becuase of a number, or his ambition to win. If he can give more on a collective level, on an individual level, and it's because of the number, fantastic. But what you notice about Kylian, on a day to day basis, is that he wants more. He generated those plays that were a little bit different, that he always does, that end up being decisive.' Image via Nur Photo / Getty Images 'Carva is back around here' – Alonso Another player that earned praise from Alonso was Arda Guler, who started and was only withdrawn in stoppage time – a relative rarity for him last season. 'Since we've been here, he's been taking steps forward, not just without the ball, but his way of managing position, his way of connecting the team, of engaging. And in the first half he made some good runs back, recovered the ball and allowed us to continue attacking. This is what we have to keep pushing him towards, he is doing it, and we're happy with him.' The Basque manager was also happy with his backline. It was a momentous occasion for Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, who returned to action at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since October and November respectively. 'Very happy with Dean, who deserved to start. I was very happy for Militao too, after the injury, he played a very serious game.' 'Not only what he can give on the pitch, but off it. He's a captain, he's spent many hours at the Bernabeu, he knows what you have to do to win, and he has to communicate that to the others. He will be fundamental for us. And Carva is now back.'

Xabi Alonso assesses first Real Madrid Liga win and claims ‘nothing is going on' with Rodrygo Goes
Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso seemed content with the three points to begin their La Liga campaign on Tuesday night, but ready to see more from his side going forward. The Basque manager also responded to more doubts over the future of Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes, after he remained on the bench and without minutes. Los Blancos secured a 1-0 victory over Osasuna with Kylian Mbappe leading the way for the home side, winning the penalty and scoring it in the second half. Alonso was conscious that his team had lacked penetration though. 'It's clear that there were good things, and things to improve. After just two weeks of preseason, it's clear the journey is long. We lacked a bit of freshness in the final third, but we were organised, and against a low block, maybe it was difficult for us to create chances.' 'But there were good things, and bad, the team is getting better, and getting into rhythm. We know we have two games before the break, and the team is getting fit.' Difficulty breaking down Osasuna Alonso explained that they had trouble breaking down Los Rojillo, who were only breached by Mbappe's penalty, and their best efforts in the first half were from long-range courtesy of Dean Huijsena and Eder Militao. 'It was difficult, they were jumping onto us, floating in 5-3-2 and in 5-4-1 sometimes, it was difficult to find spaces. We tried to get to the by-line with Vinicius and Carreras, but we didn't manage to find that last pass to create clear opportunities. In the second half, maybe they got out a bit more, and recovered the ball quicker, as they risked more. But it's part of the adaptation process.' Image via Marca He continued on to note that Real Madrid had prepared for an Osasuna side that would keep their defensive line a little higher. 'We've not had much time to prepare. We expected Osasuna to be higher, from what we saw in preseason, and against a low block, we've not been able to train much in these two weeks. We needed to get more players into the area, to explode into space more, know when to risk more, or when to attack from a second ball. But no doubt we will prepare for that, and we will work on it.' 'There's nothing going on with Rodrygo' – Alonso The Real Madrid coach continued to deny that the absence of Rodrygo Goes was not related to his future or a change of role. The Brazilian was an unused substitute, making it just one start in seven matches that Alonso has been in charge of. 'There's nothing going on with Rodrygo. We have to put it in context. The Club World Cup was different, I think we can leave it behind, and this was just one game. I'm counting on him, what's important is this season, and we don't have to read too much into this for the future.' 'If in three months, he has the same amount of minutes, then I can answer you. But today, it was about the circumstances of the match, and my decisions during it.' Rodrygo bottom of the pecking order Rodrygo has been subject to intense speculation over his Real Madrid career this summer, and understandably, given he has featured for just 93 minutes in their last 12 games, seemingly without injury. It may well be that Real Madrid are keen not to risk injuring Rodrygo before the end of the transfer window on the off-chance that he does move, but on Tuesday he saw Franco Mastantuono, Vinicius Junior, Brahim Diaz and Gonzalo Garcia Torres all used in roles he has played in the past ahead of him.

Not an issue: Dockers give blessing to Jackson's leave
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir is adamant Luke Jackson's unexpected dash to Melbourne won't harm the team's chances in Sunday's must-win clash with the Western Bulldogs. Jackson flew to Melbourne after his partner's mum passed away on Saturday night, and he will remain there until Sunday's game at Marvel Stadium. The 23-year-old has been training by himself while away from Perth, and will link up with the Dockers when the team flies east on Friday. Although Longmuir said Jackson's absence would affect preparation "a little bit", he said it would have no affect come game time. "I'm confident we'll be able to work our way around it and confident he can still prepare really well," Longmuir said on Wednesday. "He's been in contact with the coaches, he's watched our reviews. "Sometimes personal circumstances override team preference. We'll work our way through that. "Come Sunday, it won't be an issue at all." Fremantle's finals fate hangs in the balance following last Friday's 57-point loss the Brisbane Lions in Perth. If the seventh-placed Dockers (15-7) lose to the eighth-placed Bulldogs (14-8), they will miss the finals unless Gold Coast lose to both Port Adelaide (away) and Essendon (home). Two-time Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe has already announced he will retire at the end of the season, and Fremantle are desperate to send him off with a flag. "I will always be a Fremantle person" 🥹a few words from Nat to the Purple Army.#foreverfyfe — Fremantle Dockers (@freodockers) August 15, 2025 Fremantle had won 11 of their past 12 games before their big flop against Brisbane, and Longmuir has been baffled by the doomsday talk. "Everyone wants to catastrophise after one performance," Longmuir said. "As a club, we lean into our last 12, 13 weeks, which have been strong. "There's a good blue print there for us to succeed this weekend." The Bulldogs have won their past four games and are the highest scoring team in the competition, but Longmuir was quick to put the heat on them. "The pressure's on them as well, isn't it? The last time I checked, they've won one less game than us," Longmuir said. "The narrative around some of this stuff gets me a little bit, because last time I checked, we're on the same amount of wins as Collingwood, who are sitting fourth. "Everyone is talking like we're going to miss the finals. We've got full faith in this group to be able to go there and get it done, and play our way, and I'm confident our way is good enough." Dockers forward Josh Treacy said some of his team's poor decision making against the Lions had been so bad that it was laughable. "If you don't laugh you cry sometimes," Longmuir agreed. "It's almost like, 'Oh, how do you not kick a goal there', or 'How did you stuff that up?' "It just hasn't been us. I'm guessing that's what he (Treacy) is talking about, and that stuff is an easy fix." Longmuir was tight lipped when asked whether he would recall star midfielder Hayden Young, who has missed the past two weeks with an adductor strain but is expected to be unleashed against the Dogs.
