Dubai shimmered with brilliance and purpose as the 5th Indian Women in Dubai (IWD) Awards unfolded spectacularly, an unforgettable evening dedicated to honouring the unstoppable spirit of Indian women in the UAE. Held under a sky full of stars and ambition on June 15 at the Zabeel Ladies Club, the event was graced by the magnetic presence of global icon Lisa Ray, who headlined the celebration as the guest of honour and keynote speaker.
An actress, author, entrepreneur, and wellness advocate, Ray set the tone for the evening with a stirring address: "I entered this room and the energy is unbelievable. It's because of incredible work for the community. We can accomplish anything together,' she said, adding, 'A woman can start a revolution ." Recommended For You
Curated with elegance and energy, the evening saw the convergence of visionaries, change-makers, and trailblazers across fields. In attendance were dignitaries such as Laila Rahall (Goodwill Ambassador and head of protocol and diplomacy), Shalini Rajan (head, UAE Business Unit, Air Arabia), Nikita Agarwal (founder, Buddy Education), and Mary Del Dosso (mall director, BurJuman and Reef Mall) — each standing in solidarity with IWD's mission of empowerment through celebration.
The event culminated in a heartfelt finale led by Reema Mahajan, founder of Indian Women in Dubai (IWD), who delivered a powerful message urging the community to continue recognising and celebrating those who inspire, uplift, and redefine modern womanhood. "This event has always been about more than just awards," said Mahajan. "It's a tribute to courage, compassion, and the remarkable journeys of women—those who are building businesses and raising families, challenging societal norms, and breaking barriers every single day."

PUMA reintroduces Mostro collection with influencer collabs, activation

PUMA Middle East has reintroduced its Mostro sneaker not with nostalgia, but a statement. The brand's latest campaign, Mostroverse, is a cultural manifesto that aims to be less about product and more about people. Inspired by creativity, personal expression and identity, the campaign gives centre stage to a new wave of regional creatives in an effort to redefine what it means to be seen. With social videos directed by Palestinian-Jordanian photographer Omar Sha3, produced by Dubai-based ECHO Agency and creatively conceptualised by M+C Saatchi Group Middle East, the launch was further supported with an in-person activation at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates. 'Drawing from underground and avant-garde culture, the campaign highlights regional creatives who break norms and redefine style on their own terms,' said Zarah Rashid, PR Manager, PUMA GCC. 'The message at its core is simple but powerful: true style comes from fearless self-expression. PUMA wanted to create the 'Mostroverse' where individuality isn't just welcomed, it's celebrated,' she said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JUNAYNAH EL GUTHMY (@junaynaah) The campaign unfolds across the cityscape of Dubai, with abstract visuals and layered voice overs that pull the audience inside each artist's creative world, to support the Mostro drop. Inspired by underground 'street culture' and a flair for the avant-garde, the social videos feature creators such as Parvané Barret, Karrouhat, Junaynah El Guthmy, Jullz, Huda Shahin and Helena Shahin. Rashid explained that beyond brand awareness and sales uplift, the campaign seeks to build emotional brand equity. 'The campaign aims to spark cultural relevance and boost brand awareness by aligning PUMA with the region's creative vanguard,' she said. 'There's also a longer-term goal of building community and brand loyalty by connecting deeply with creatives who are shaping the region's cultural narrative,' she added. Bringing the concept to life beyond the screens, PUMA is hosting an activation near its store at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates from June 13 to June 26. The immersive brand experience invites consumers to step into the Mostroverse, where they can play a 10-second long game to stand a chance to win a fresh pair of Mostro shoes and other PUMA merchandise. As the campaign rolls out across the region, Rashid tells Campaign Middle East exclusively that a soon to release collaboration with Saudi Arabia's Warcheiff is also in the works. 'Set entirely in Riyadh, from its sleek skyline to the cultural heart of the JAX District, the film is a visual mixtape that captures the daring spirit of movement and creative freedom,' Rashid shared. In terms of results, 'early feedback from social platforms and creative communities were positive,' said Rashid. 'Many praised the campaign's authentic representation of regional talent and its refreshing break from commercial norms.' Rashid also added an unexpected result from the Mostroverse campaign. 'Viewers were particularly drawn to the storytelling format — not just the visuals, but the voices and personal narratives,' she said. The Heart of Godolphin: Saeed bin Suroor's 40th Royal Ascot win a victory for modesty

At the regal theatre of Royal Ascot, reputations are forged with every thundering stride. Some stories echo across generations - others fade in the silence of the turf. But not this particular story. For nearly four decades, Saeed bin Suroor has been highly regarded as a master horseman and trainer known for being gracious in triumph. That familiar glint returned to his eyes on Thursday as Arabian Story thundered home in the Britannia Stakes, handing Saeed his landmark 40th Royal Ascot winner. It was a full-circle moment, almost thirty years since his first Royal Ascot triumph with So Factual in 1995. This was a milestone carved not numerically but by sheer character. Saeed's string may have shrunk from a mighty 250 to just 30 horses today yet when he talks about his horses there's a spark. 'We try to do the best with what we have,' says a vintage Saeed, with just faith. Arabian Story and jockey Oisin Murphy helped answer that faith with a barnstorming prompting Saeed to declare that the 29-year-old three-time British champion was 'the best jockey in the world.' Murphy, who has enjoyed a profitable association with Saeed was also generous in praise for Saeed, the oldest serving handler with Godolphin, the globe-trotting racing stable created by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. 'I'm over the moon to give Saeed his 40th Royal Ascot winner,' Murphy said. 'He's an incredible trainer. Very respectful. Very patient. That's what sets him apart.' When asked about his favourite Royal Ascot winner Saeed ducks the question. 'They're all special,' he says, before finally giving in: Dubai Millennium, the once-in-a-lifetime colt who dazzled in the Prince of Wales's Stakes before siring Dubawi, perhaps the greatest stallion of our time. March 25, 2000, remains one of the most iconic moments in Saeed's career as Dubai Millennium emerged as an imperious and record-setting winner of the Dubai World Cup solidifying his legendary status in global racing. And what a dream Saeed has carried: Four champion trainer at Royal Ascot, four British trainer championships, 13 Classic wins, nine Dubai World Cups, over 500 Group wins across the globe, and now 40 Royal Ascot victories - achievements that belong to the history books. Over three decades, Saeed's Royal Ascot legacy has been furnished by a string of unforgettable champions in the Godolphin blue — from the imperious Dubai Millennium in 2000 to dual Gold Cup hero Kayf Tara, the globe-trotting Fantastic Light (2001), classy miler Shamardal (2005), the versatile Benbatl (2017), and the ever-game Real World (2021). Each of them has helped cement his place as one of the most successful and respected trainers in the history of the Royal Meeting. And on Thursday, as he watched Arabian Story canter back to rapturous applause at the Royal Ascot winner's enclosure Saeed said with quiet satisfaction: 'It's nice to be back.'
