"During this period, we resolved to make a fresh start for Delhi," she said.
After taking a dip in the Ganga at Har-ki-Pauri along with her family, Gupta emphasised her govt's commitment to rejuvenating the Yamuna river. "Our aim is to make the Yamuna as clean and clear as the Ganga here in Devbhumi," she said.
Later, she attended the inauguration of Sadhvi Ritambhara's new ashram, Ganga Vatsalya Ashraya, in Kankhal. The event was graced by several eminent seers and Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
During her address, Gupta congratulated 'Didi Ma' Ritambhara on receiving the Padma Bhushan. "Yesterday marked the completion of 100 days of our govt, and we participated in the Yamuna aarti. Today, I took a dip in the Ganga. I seek the blessings of the seers so that one day, we may take a similar dip in the Yamuna," she said.
She added, "The river has dried up; there's either no water or it's heavily polluted. I've been entrusted with the responsibility to clean it, and my government is committed to that goal."
In response, the seers proposed adopting Yamuna ghats to support the cleanup initiative. "We will ensure daily aartis at every ghat and beautify them," they said.
Referring to CM Dhami as her senior, Gupta said that following in his footsteps, she would do all that he does in Uttarakhand. "I am taking Gangajal from here and the plan of Ganga cleaning, besides his blessings. He is the only CM to have introduced the Uniform Civil Code in the country," she added.

Reiterating her commitment to Delhi's welfare, Gupta described the city as the "heartbeat of the nation" and pledged to serve its people with dedication and excellence.
Dhami, in turn, expressed confidence that Delhi's future would see a transformation. "I am hopeful that the Yamuna in Delhi will one day mirror the Ganga in Haridwar," he said.
On the ongoing Char Dham yatra, Dhami reported that over 18 lakh pilgrims had already visited the sacred sites. "The govt is ensuring safe and smooth travel for all devotees this yatra season," he assured, adding firmly, "We are fully aware of the state's situation and will not allow its demographic composition to be altered."

Anti-Smog Guns, Artificial Rain: CM Rekha Gupta Unveils Vision To Make Delhi Pollution-Free
Last Updated: Delhi Air Pollution: CM Rekha Gupta unveils anti-pollution plan, including artificial rain, anti-smog guns, BS6 vehicle rules, and mass tree plantation drive. Delhi Air Pollution: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday unveiled a comprehensive plan aimed at making the national capital pollution-free, a key poll plank of the BJP in the last assembly election that ended its 28-year drought in the city. From artificial rain to anti-smog guns, the multi-pronged strategy includes scientific innovations, legislative enforcement, and large-scale public participation to keep pollution in check ahead of the winter season when the capital becomes a 'gas chamber". Addressing a press briefing, Gupta announced that Delhi will soon witness its first artificial rain through cloud seeding, a pilot project approved in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. 'To reduce and eliminate pollution, we will sign MoUs with all our science organisations, which will use their latest innovations and help the Delhi government in its fight against pollution," she said. The initiative with IIT Kanpur is expected to test the viability of cloud seeding as a method to clean Delhi's toxic air. Artificial rain may air quality slightly for some hours or a day or two depending on meteorological factors but experts do not view artificial rain as a sustainable solution to pollution problems. Gupta also said that the government will launch a major plantation drive titled 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" on June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day. 'The goal is to plant 70 lakh saplings across the city this year. Our aim is that Delhi should get better air. Delhi air should be good, people should prefer to stay in Delhi instead of going out," the CM said, highlighting the need for large-scale afforestation to combat urban pollution. To curb vehicular emissions, the CM announced that from November 1, 2025, only BS6-compliant, CNG, or electric commercial vehicles will be allowed to enter the city. In support of this policy, the government will deploy Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at all entry points and petrol pumps across Delhi. These AI-enabled cameras will identify end-of-life vehicles and prevent them from operating in the capital. 'These steps are not just announcements; they are actionable, time-bound interventions," Gupta said, stressing the urgency of addressing air pollution through a combination of science, surveillance, and community involvement. Delhi Air Pollution Air pollution continues to trouble Delhi residents year-round, except during the monsoon. In winter, AQI often hits hazardous levels due to stubble burning in neighbouring states, vehicular emissions, and lower temperatures. While recent days have seen a slight decline in 'very poor" and 'hazardous" air quality days, the issue remains far from resolved.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 3 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took major action and suspended two senior Indian Administrative Officers (IAS) officers and a Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officer in the Haridwar land scam, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). A departmental inquiry will be initiated against the suspended officers. A total of 12 officers have been suspended against the officers including District Magistrate (DM) Kamendra Singh, former Municipal Commissioner (MC) Varun Chaudhary and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ajayveer Singh, the statement said. The scam involves large-scale irregularities in land allocation and transfer. The decisions taken by the Uttarakhand CM are a sign of decisive change in the administrative culture of the state. Earlier on May 25, in another move to bring an end to corruption in the state, the Uttarakhand CM directed officials to conduct campaigns against corruption more effectively and submit detailed reports of actions taken so far in cases related to conversion, as per a release. Further, CM Dhami directed the officials to continue the verification campaign. He also said that immediate and strict action should be taken upon receiving information about any suspicious activity or person. The Chief Minister also pointed out that while making the Aadhar card and other government documents, it should be ensured that no document is issued without proper verification. Meanwhile, regarding property encroachment, the Chief Minister directed the officials to continue the ongoing campaign against it and ensured that land that has been made encroachment-free does not recur. CM Dhami has further directed officials to conduct a detailed assessment of enemy property encroachment and submit a comprehensive report. During a review meeting, the CM emphasised prioritising local workers for construction work on government buildings while incorporating the state's cultural identity and traditional mountain architecture in their design. Additionally, CM Dhami instructed officials to bolster security arrangements in border areas and launch intensive checking campaigns to ensure safety and vigilance. (ANI)

Delhi govt aims to ensure every citizen has access to quality, affordable and timely healthcare: CM Gupta
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said the government's goal is to ensure that every citizen in the capital has access to quality, affordable and timely healthcare. An official statement said that the government led by Gupta is rapidly advancing the construction of new hospitals as well as the modernisation of existing ones. The chief minister said a 'Swasth Delhi' is the foundation of the 'Viksit Delhi', adding the aim is to ensure that "Delhi's government hospitals deliver services even better than private ones". Sharing figures, Gupta said that 3,30,369 beneficiaries have been registered under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). She added that 1,54,116 senior citizens have registered under the ' Vay Vandana Yojana ' and instructions have been issued to accelerate the registration process for the remaining eligible individuals. Explaining the features of both schemes, the chief minister said all eligible beneficiaries can avail of treatment up to Rs 10 lakh at empanelled hospitals under the PM-JAY and Vay Vandana Yojana. Till date, 83 hospitals in Delhi (59 private hospitals and 24 government hospitals) are registered under these schemes. If a patient needs to travel outside Delhi for specific treatment, they can receive care at any empanelled hospital registered under these schemes across the country. Gupta emphasised that the registration process has been made fully online, allowing eligible citizens to register easily via a dedicated portal. She said that 729 citizens in Delhi have already availed the benefits of these schemes. Speaking on the Arogya Mandirs being developed in the capital, the chief minister said the Delhi government is establishing 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Approximately 15 health centres are being constructed in each of Delhi's 70 assembly constituencies, where citizens will receive free basic healthcare services, said Gupta. The construction of these centres is progressing rapidly, with infrastructure development, installation of medical equipment and recruitment of staff being prioritized, she added. Lambasting the previous regime, the chief minister said the earlier government wasted valuable time by not implementing these important health schemes. PTI
