iPhone users say Mail app keeps crashing after iOS 18.5 — here's what might help
Apple users have reported another issue after updating to iOS 18.5, with many facing a blank screen while trying to open the Mail app. The latest iOS 18 update was released last month, but complaints about this problem have started surfacing across Apple Communities, Reddit, and other forums in recent weeks.
Users on social media say the Mail app displays a blank screen before becoming unresponsive or crashing unexpectedly.
Apple has not yet acknowledged the problem or issued a fix, but users have already started trying short-term workarounds to prevent the app from crashing. Some have experimented with restarting their iPhone, force closing the Mail app, disabling auto-correction on their keyboard, and even reinstalling the app altogether.
Despite these measures, users report that none of the fixes are permanent and the problem returns after some time.
On user on Apple Community while explaining the issue wrote, 'My mail app no longer works after the iOS18.5 update. I uninstalled and re-installed and it attempts to open (blank white screen) and crashes every time. Was this intentional? Does Apple know that I use my phone for business and this is crippling? Why don't they test these updates before releasing and costing me a lot of money?'
'Response time is laggy, app is freezing and unresponsive, emails will not open, inbox won't refresh to show new mail (although I've received a notification), etc. Restarting the device does fix it, but only temporarily—and that's being generous.' added another user on Reddit
Meanwhile, yet another user noted, 'I have an iphone 15 and the same issue. It's been glitching since yesterday and still no improvement. Whenever I open the mail app, either my screen is just black (I use dark mode), or the mails start glitching when I try to scroll up or down. I don't know what to do about it'

Apple WWDC 2025: What to expect from the upcoming developer conference
Apple 's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will begin on June 9 and the company is expected to announce major software-related updates at its five days developer conference. Last year, WWDC event was majorly focused on AI but this year the tech major is expected to focus on design and productivity enhancements for its operating system franchises. What to expect from Apple WWDC 2025 Bloomberg reported, the tech major will change its naming system for iOS. Instead of continuing with numerical sequence, it will shift to being named by the year (e.g. iOS26 instead of iOS19). Reports suggest that Apple's health app will incorporate AI, which could include a health chatbot and generative AI insight for more personalised health-related suggestions. As per media website, 9to5Mac, Messages may also get new AI features, such as translation and polls that offer AI- generated suggestions. According to details shared by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company has some AI tools and features in development, but they are unlikely to be released this year. Instead, Apple could announce that it will allow third-party developers to access its large language models (LLMs) to support AI features inside their own apps. The system allows users to explore items based on natural language queries, track prices, view consumer reviews, and even complete purchases without ever leaving the app. After teasing its 'compact flagship' for weeks, OnePlus finally took the wraps of OnePlus 13s earlier this week. The 13s retains more or less the same specifications as the OnePlus 13T with two key differencies, the selfie shooter here has been upgraded to 32MP autofocus shooter while the battery has been cut down to 5,850mAh from 6,200 mAh on the 13T.
