K9 Unit assists deputies in locating vehicle theft suspect in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a home south of Marianna about a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning.
According to a news release, when deputies arrived at the home around 2:45 a.m., Terri Lynn Butler was identified as the suspect.
The victim stated that Butler had stolen his vehicle while he was asleep and returned a short time later. Deputies said when the victim confronted Butler, she fled.
It was determined by authorities that Butler had outstanding warrants out of Jackson County for Felony Child Neglect, Resisting Without Violence, Loitering, and Prowling.

Deputies said they worked throughout the night attempting to locate Butler, but they were unable to do so.
Around 9:30 a.m., deputies were informed that Butler had returned to the victim's property but had again fled. However, they established a perimeter, and the JCSO K9 Tracking Unit was called to the scene to assist.
A track was quickly established, and Butler was located and arrested a short time later.
In addition to her active warrants, Butler is being charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Driving While License Revoked, and Petit Theft Second Offense.
