JCSO announces 1st Annual 'Praise in the Park' fundraiser

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has announced its first annual fundraiser for Chrome Ministry, 'Praise in the Park,' on Saturday. According to a JCSO Facebook post, the fundraiser will take place on Sunday at Madison Street Park from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees can expect an evening filled with live worship music, raffles, food, bounce house, splash pad and more. JCSO said that all proceeds from the event will go to support Still Waters Women's Ministry and Chrome Ministry. Those who want the opportunity to dunk Sheriff Donnie Edenfield in the tank can pay $10 for three chances. And $5,000 will keep Hunter Nolen out of the tank and Edenfield in. K9 Unit assists deputies in locating vehicle theft suspect in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a home south of Marianna about a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning. According to a news release, when deputies arrived at the home around 2:45 a.m., Terri Lynn Butler was identified as the suspect. The victim stated that Butler had stolen his vehicle while he was asleep and returned a short time later. Deputies said when the victim confronted Butler, she fled. It was determined by authorities that Butler had outstanding warrants out of Jackson County for Felony Child Neglect, Resisting Without Violence, Loitering, and Prowling. Protest continues as Gulf World dolphin removal is delayed Deputies said they worked throughout the night attempting to locate Butler, but they were unable to do so. Around 9:30 a.m., deputies were informed that Butler had returned to the victim's property but had again fled. However, they established a perimeter, and the JCSO K9 Tracking Unit was called to the scene to assist. A track was quickly established, and Butler was located and arrested a short time later. In addition to her active warrants, Butler is being charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Driving While License Revoked, and Petit Theft Second Offense. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has announced its next Teen Driver Challenge for Friday, June 20. According to a Jackson County Sheriff's Office Facebook post, the course will start at 8 a.m. at the Jackson County Ag Center on Highway 90. The course is free to any teen driver with a learner's permit or driver's license and will be taught by the School Resource Deputies. JCSO said that the course will teach young drivers the nuts and bolts of safe driving, the dangers of texting and driving, how to change a tire, how to check their oil, hands-on experience behind the wheel with instructors and more. A 37-year-old woman is facing multiple counts of child molestation after a year-long investigation. Hernandez was charged with 10 counts of child molestation. The arrest comes after the JCSO received information about Hernandez on April 4, 2025. JCSO: Man charged with rape after 13-year-old from Iowa found in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A man faces aggravated statutory rape charges after a missing 13-year-old girl from Iowa was found in Jefferson County, according to the sheriff's office. On Monday, the West Des Moines, Iowa Police Department contacted JCSO about a missing girl they believed was located in Jefferson County. JCSO deputies began searching for her when someone called saying at girl showed up at a residence saying she'd been kidnapped, law enforcement said. Gov. Lee signs 'Savanna's Law,' creating habitual domestic violence offender registry When deputies arrived, the girl was identified as the one missing from Iowa. Law enforcement learned that Martin Amaya Sandoval Jr, 37, of New Market had been talking with her online, JCSO said. The office stated that Sandoval drove to Iowa on Saturday, picked her up and took her to Jefferson County. Investigators charged Sandoval with four counts of aggravated statutory rape. He is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Center with a bond of $500,000. JCSO and the Des Moines police are still investigating, and they expect to issue further charges.
