Team of 35 detectives working on murder inquiry after man shot through window
Barry Dawson was blasted once at his home in Elm Street, South Moor, Stanley, County Durham, at around 5.20pm on Saturday.
Doorbell camera footage has emerged of the shooting in which two figures can be seen approaching his terraced home, one smashing the window and another, in a hood, firing once through the blinds, before the pair run off.
A man can then be heard shouting: 'They've killed me dad.'
A 37-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman who were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder remain in police custody.
On Tuesday, Superintendent Peter Carr spoke to reporters outside Stanley Police Station, saying: 'This is an extensive investigation.
'A 35-strong team of detectives from our major crime team are currently working around the clock, with support from armed response officers, specialist crime scene examiners, search teams, and neighbourhood officers.
'This was a frightening incident for those involved and those living nearby.
'I'd like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation while we work to establish exactly what has happened.'
Mr Carr said there will continue to be 'significant police activity' in the area for some time.
He said: 'We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a white Seat Arona registration NA24 OJK on the Saturday in the Stanley and Annfield Plain area.
'I'd also urge anyone who has any information that could assist our investigation and has not yet spoken to us, to please get in touch – either call us on 101 or approach an officer.'

Man, 29, jailed after 90mph police pursuit
A man who led police on a 90mph chase through a town centre has been jailed for a year. Reuben Brown, 29, narrowly missed an officer on foot during the pursuit, before driving the wrong way around roundabouts and crashing into a garden wall. Brown, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance – while wanted on recall to prison – at Swindon Magistrates Court in Wiltshire on 2 August. He has now been jailed, disqualified from driving for 17 months and told he must pass an extended test before returning to the road. On August 1, at around 04:15 BST, Wiltshire Police was alerted to a car on the M4 eastbound potentially being driven illegally. The black Seat Arona, being driven by Brown, left the motorway and was stopped by police on the A3102 just outside Swindon. Two officers approached his car on foot, at which point Brown mounted the pavement to escape. He was pursued through Swindon, reaching speeds of up to 90mph, and onto Marlborough Road, where he attempted to turn onto Downs View Road, but misjudged the corner and hit a garden wall. He then took off on foot shortly before being caught by officers. 'Incredibly dangerous' Roads policing officer PS Mike Benson said: "Brown's driving was incredibly dangerous and put his own life, the life of our officers and members of the public in danger. "Following his arrest, he was very swiftly processed through the courts system and sentenced the following day. A dangerous driver has been sentenced after crashing into a garden wall in Swindon. Reuben Brown, 29, of no fixed abode, has been disqualified from driving for 17 months and must pass an extended test. On August 1, at around 4.15am, officers were alerted to a vehicle coming into the county on the M4 eastbound potentially being driven illegally. The black Seat Arona driven by Brown, was spotted at junction 16, where he exited the motorway and travelled up the A3102 towards Blagrove. A pre-emptive stop was conducted and two officers approached the vehicle on foot, at which point Brown mounted the pavement to escape, narrowly avoiding one of the officers. A tactical pursuit was authorised, and Brown was followed towards Old Town, reaching speeds of up to 90mph, travelling the wrong way around roundabouts and travelling the wrong way down Wood Street. He was subsequently detained, arrested and charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance. Brown, who was also wanted on recall to prison, appeared the following day in court and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment in a hearing at Swindon Magistrates' Court. The service's definition reads: 'The offence of dangerous driving under section 2 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 is committed when the defendant's driving falls far below the standard expected of a competent and careful driver and it would be obvious that driving in that way would be dangerous – section 2A of the RTA 1988.'

'Deeply shocked' boss of shooting victim Barry Dawson pays tribute to grandad
The boss of shooting victim Barry Dawson has paid tribute to the Stanley grandad - saying staff are 'deeply shocked and saddened' by his death. 'Much loved' Barry was gunned down in his own home on Elm Street in South Moor earlier this month after a shot was fired through the downstairs window. The 60-year-old's death left his family 'truly devastated' - and a large-scale probe was launched by Durham Constabulary leading to five people being charged with murder. Barry worked for the Stanley plant of KP Snacks, which is known for popular crisp brands such as Skips, Space Raiders, Hula Hoops, and Pom-Bears. He said: 'We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic death of our colleague, Barry Dawson. 'Barry was a highly valued member of the team at our Stanley site and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. As previously reported, officers were called to the Elm Street home on April 5 at around 5.20pm following reports of a disturbance. Mr Dawson was found to have been shot and despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was sadly declared dead at the scene. Six people have since appeared in court following the incident. Most recently, Keith Edward Dorward and Sean Reay appeared via a video link at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday accused of murder. Dorward, also known as Keith Edward Lax, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday. The 47-year-old, of South View Gardens, Stanley, was charged on Saturday. And the final accused, Kelvin Lawson, 37, of Frosterley Gardens, Stanley, appeared at the same time at Teesside Crown Court. All six defendants are expected to appear at the same court on May 9. Judge Francis Laird, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, has set a provisional date for the five-week trial which is listed to start on September 22.
