Kate Gosselin gives frosty response to son's claim that kids were 'pitted against each other' after divorce
The former reality star, 50, was on TikTok Monday, sharing some of her duties during the 12-hour shift she had just completed, while loading her dishwasher and trying to answer questions from fans.
In the comments, one person posted a screenshot of her son Collin's recent TikTok in which he claimed he and his siblings had been 'forced apart.'
Kate is estranged from Collin and her daughter Hannah, who went to live with their dad, Jon, 48, in 2016, as part of a nasty custody battle.
In response to the screenshot, the Kate Plus 8 star wrote 'He knows why.'
Collin has previously accused his mother of horrific abuse, claiming she would lock him up in the basement and zip tie his hands and feet.
Kate placed Collin in a treatment facility when he was 12 for behavioral issues, a move that was contested by his father.
Collin and Hannah are two of the Gosselin sextuplets featured in the reality show Jon & Kate plus 8, which ran from 2007-2009, along with siblings Aadan, Alexis, Leah and Joel, 21. Kate and Jon also share twins Mady and Cara, 24.
After Jon and Kate divorced in 2009, the show carried on as Kate plus 8, airing from 2015 to 2016.
Elsewhere in the comments section, a follower asked why she was working 12 hour shifts as a home healthcare nurse.
'Honestly? Providing for 8 kids,' she said matter of factly.
'College funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more and LAWYERS,' she said referring to her expensive court battles with Jon.
'Sickening but I was drug [sic] into court constantly and that costs A TON,' she explained.
'Sad bc my kids could have a lot more saved and I could have a retirement saved if it weren't for lawyers :('
When someone posted a screen shot of Collin's allegations he and his siblings were 'pitted against each other' in the comments section, Kate replied with a simple 'He knows why'
When another commenter asked why she was working 12-hour shifts, Kate explained, 'College funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more and LAWYERS,' referring to her expensive court battles with Jon
Looking at the bright side, Kate wrote, 'It's okay. I'm helping other families and I feel needed and I enjoy helping.'
Others expressed their admiration for the mother-of-eight. 'Looking back now, I can see how you were portrayed as the villain and you weren't. I apologize for ever thinking that.,' said another.
'I recall disliking you, but now I feel like that is because of how you were portrayed on that damn show! I see how normal you are and now that I'm a mom I GET IT!! You are literally all of us Mom's and I'm here for it!!!' wrote a sympathizer.
'I love this Kate,' said a fan. 'As we've all grown older, we now recognize how misunderstood you truly were. We hear you now.'

General Hospital star dead at 79
Actor Tristan Rogers has died at age 79 following a battle with lung cancer. His manager, Meryl Soodak, confirmed his passing with ABC7 News, telling the outlet Rogers died Friday morning following a battle with the ailment. Soodak added his client had never been a smoker. Since 1980, Rogers had been portraying international spy-turned-Port Charles D.A. Robert Scorpio on General Hospital — a role Soodak said 'meant everything to him.' While he did not appear on every episode, he was still a long-standing presence on the series with 1,461 episodes under his belt. 'He loved being Scorpio and he created that role from nothing. He was supposed to work a day and he ended up making it into something huge. He was just a genuinely loyal, kind human being and he loved his family,' he said. Rogers is survived by his wife Teresa Parkerson, their children Sara Jane and Cale, and a grandchild. His death comes just weeks after his cancer diagnosis was revealed. His friend and publicist, Anthony Turk, revealed the heartbreaking ailment in a press release obtained by Soap Opera Digest. 'Beloved Emmy-winning actor Tristan Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime drama, General Hospital, is sharing with fans that he has been diagnosed with cancer,' Turk began. He continued: 'While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family.' The star's rep asked for 'privacy and understanding' as Rogers and his family faced 'the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis.' 'They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family. Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years,' Turk concluded. 'This support means more to him now than ever.' Tributes came flooding in on social media after his death was revealed, including from the General Hospital family. The soap's executive producer Frank Valentini released a statement on the show's official Instagram account, praising him as a 'one-of-a-kind talent.' 'The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers' passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio),' he wrote. 'I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.' Roger's General Hospital co-star Jon Lindstrom tweeted, 'I know the sadness I feel at this news is shared by so many of you. #TristanRogers was one of the coolest, funniest people I ever met. Whenever we were together, which wasn't nearly often enough, we never missed a chance to try to crack the other one up. I wish I'd had more of those chances. R.I.P. #FlightOfAngels #Scorpio @GeneralHospital #GH.' Rogers was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on June 3, 1946, and his résumé boasts a long list of roles on iconic shows. In addition to General Hospital, Rogers' soap experience includes playing Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless and Hunter Jones, P.I., on The Bold and the Beautiful. He also reprised his role for the spin-off, General Hospital: Night Shift, which followed his on-screen daughter Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough). Tristan was only supposed to be on General Hospital to 'beat up the hero,' but his role was extended after impressing the show's executive producer, the late Gloria Monty. His agent pitched the part to him as a 'two day role,' and Tristan was unaware at the time of just how popular the show was when he went in to audition. Rogers' character endured quite a bit on camera — Robert Scorpio was killed off in an explosion in 1992, but that didn't mark the end of his General Hospital journey. The character came back as a spirit in 1995 before returning in 2006 after being discovered alive. 'I think this character will follow me to my grave,' he told The New York Times back in 2006. Tristan's résumé includes roles in Walker, Texas Ranger, Tales from the Crypt, The Love Boat, The Sullivans, The Agency, Studio City, and The Bay. He also lent his voice to numerous animated productions, including The Wild Thornberrys, Batman Beyond, and Aaahh!!! Real Monsters. In 2020, Rogers won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama Series for his role as Doc in Studio City. His early acting roles were on Australian television in shows such as Bellbird, Number 96 (1974), and The Box (1975), along with appearances in The Link Men (1970), Barrier Reef, Division 4, and the 1976 miniseries Power Without Glory. Other credits include voicing Jake in Walt Disney Pictures' The Rescuers Down Under and roles in Four Dimensions of Greta (1972), The Flesh and Blood Show (1972), and Sex Farm (1973). Additionally, the star did voice-over work for brands such as Outback Steakhouse, Reebok, Epson, and others.

Mr Chonkers review – you never know what's going to happen next
With his show and persona Mr Chonkers, American clown John Norris scored a cult hit on the fringe three summers ago – and now a booking off comedy's beaten track, at anything-goes alt-theatre hub Summerhall. He'll fit in, because his is a show (seemingly the same one he performed in 2022) that marches to the beat of its own drum. The upside of that? You never know what's going to happen next. The downside: with little by way of theme, narrative or structure, there's not much left to hang on to when the laughs abate. A portion of the audience will be giggling too giddily for that to be an issue: Norris is the kind of act who, if he gets under your skin, doesn't get out again. After a dotty prologue as a faceless monk, he offers us a supposed showcase of his recently acquired performance talents – in poetry, comedy and theatre. With a Janus-faced manner that twins eagerness to please with disciplinarian tendencies, he then serves up a tenuous film star impersonation (that wraps up the comedy section), some verse (including a standout about 'horny wives in your area') and – the bulk of the show, this – a theatrical act-out of a Sicilian family drama. Frustrated he's not getting it right, Norris performs that scene over and again, in (not very) different ways. If you're barely amused by the arresting sight of him, in character as a little Italian boy, retreating his head into his neck, this looping scenario may test your patience. It did mine. There are strong stand-alone sections elsewhere: a none-more-clown sequence about his ever-shrinking headgear; a gestural dumbshow of the apologies we make in company when we're detained by a phone call. Strongest of all is Norris's existential angst as his gig collapses, leaving him exposed to the chill winds of post-show, pining to return to his imaginative world. Whither your self-esteem when you can't even get a performance with no rules right? I cherished this playful glimpse into the jester's abyss, delivered (like everything here) with a wonderful alertness to the moment, albeit in a show that may drive you to distraction as well as delight. At Summerhall, Edinburgh, until 24 August All our Edinburgh festival reviews

Selena Gomez rocks fresh-faced look during date with fiancé Benny Blanco and their two new BFFs
Selena Gomez went makeup-free for a dinner date with fiancé Benny Blanco on Friday night in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old multihyphenate —who sizzled in pink lingerie in her latest Instagram post — was very dressed down for the outing as she stepped out in a long black robe and matching slippers. The former child star pulled her dark hair into a fuss-free bun as she flashed her huge engagement ring. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old music producer was clad in a short-sleeved, baby blue, button-up shirt. He added a pair of loose-fitting beige trousers, finishing the look with black and white sneakers with burgundy shoelaces. And Benny was seen sporting his signature dark curly 'fro. It comes after Selena included a snapshot of the couple dining with Logan Lerman and his fiancée Analuisa Corrigan via Instagram on Friday. The group enjoyed quality time over a seafood spread that included oysters and prawns. The pop star's husband-to-be commented on the post, 'Wait … I'm gonna marry u.' Last month the Only Murders in the Building actress used her Rare Beauty brand's TikTok account to spill details about the food she hopes to serve on her wedding day. 'My preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy,' The Texas native revealed. 'My Nana's biscuits and gravy. That sounds like dessert to me.' She also said in the undated video: 'Whenever that day comes, I do know I don't want a big cake.' Selena added, 'I think I'd want a mini one, for just us, that we can freeze.' The lovebirds confirmed their relationship in December 2023, with the pair getting engaged a year later. 'Forever starts now,' Selena wrote at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring. Benny popped the question with a ring worth an estimated $1M. Selena previously admitted she's planning to ditch the classic bride and groom dance at their reception because she's too shy. 'I don't think we're looking at having one of those 'cause they're a little — I feel embarrassed,' she said on an episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware. While there won't be a traditional first dance, the singer said she's making room for a deeply meaningful moment — a special dance with her grandfather. 'He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,' she shared. 'I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.'
