New Shannon clinic coming to San Angelo in former retail building
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Renovations for a new Shannon Medical Center clinic specializing in physical and occupational therapy are underway at an address that once belonged to the now-closed West Central Wireless company.
According to the City of San Angelo's March 2025 permits and inspections report, a commercial project at 3389 Knickerbocker Road for Shannon Medical Center was issued. The project has an estimated cost of $200,000.

The Shannon Medical Center website now lists the address as the site of Shannon South Physical & Occupational Therapy. The website states that the following services will be offered at the location:
Physical therapy
Occupational therapy
Hand therapy
Pelvic health
Signs for the clinic are already up at the location. A Concho Valley Homepage reporter observed workers operating at the site.
The building, located in Knickerbocker Square, was previously used by West Central Wireless, a San Angelo-based wireless service company founded in 1987 that served West Central Texas. The company was acquired by Verizon Wireless in 2023 and was shut down in August that same year.

New bill would mandate 'anti-choking' devices in NYC schools
Every school in NYC would be required to have 'airway clearance devices' to help prevent choking deaths under a City Council bill gaining bipartisan steam. The legislation sponsored by Bronx Republican Kristy Marmorato would mandate that city schools stock the portable, suction-based devices on site. It already has support from 11 Democrats and four other Republicans, and was expected to be the subject of a public hearing this month.
