Amorim is the right man for Man Utd, says Ugarte
Amorim took charge of United in November last year but guided them to just seven wins in 27 league matches and their worst-ever finish in the Premier League.
They also failed to qualify for the Champions League as they lost the Europa League final 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.
"We have to improve things," Ugarte told British media.
"We are all very motivated, because we believe in the coach, we believe in what he wants and that is very important," added the Uruguayan, who also played under Amorim at Sporting.
"Last year we made some changes, we changed our coach, we changed our formation.
"You have to have responsibilities when you play for United. Sometimes the connections take time to get to know each other. I already know the league, the rivals, which is important."
United will play two pre-season matches in the U.S., taking on Bournemouth in Chicago on Wednesday and facing Everton in Atlanta on Sunday, before returning home to face Fiorentina at Old Trafford on August 9.
They begin the new Premier League season against Arsenal on August 17.

South Africa want promising batsmen to show potential on international stage
CAPE TOWN :South Africa's Twenty20 captain Aiden Markram wants his team's promising young batsman to use the opportunity of limited overs tours to Australia and England over the next eight weeks to develop their careers and display their international potential. South Africa have high hopes for powerful teenage slogger Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Dewald Brevis, the prolific 22-year-old run scorer who first competed in the Indian Premier League three years ago, as they continue preparations for next year's T20 World Cup. "The last thing you want to do is to clip their wings. You sort of want to let them fly and let them do their thing,' Markram told a virtual press conference on Friday as South Africa readied to depart for Australia, where they play three T20 internationals in Darwin and Cairns later this month. "I think we've seen on various stages around the world now that they are proper X-factor players and that they have taken to international cricket quite easily,' he added. "So, I don't know if I have too much advice for them, besides the fact that they must keep taking the game on and not be scared of disappointments or failures. 'It's been great to see their progress. They're going to play a massive role moving forward in cricket in South Africa and that's the thing that we're quite excited about,' Markram added. Brevis, a regular in T20 leagues around the world, debuted for South Africa's T20 side against Australia two years ago while Pretorius, 19, debuted in last month's tri series against New Zealand and hosts Zimbabwe, scoring 51 in the final in Harare last weekend. The pair are also in the squad to take on Australia in three One Day Internationals after the T20 series. South Africa then head to England early next month for three ODIs and three T20s. "For us as a team it'll be about fine tuning a lot of things and preparing for that T20 World Cup, so a great opportunity in Australia and then followed by England and if we can get closer towards another trophy, that'll be good," Markram told reporters. South Africa were runners-up at the last T20 World Cup in the West Indies one year ago and Markram was the hero of their World Test Championship win over Australia in June. The next T20 World Cup to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka in early 2026.

Siraj leads India's charge back into contention
India's spirited seamers, missing key man Jasprit Bumrah, bowled the tourists back into the game and the series as they reduced England to 215-7 at tea after a exhilarating second session on day two of the final test at The Oval on Friday. Continuing the back and forth theme of the entire series, India recovered from England's pre-lunch batting assault and their own morning collapse to force themselves right back into contention in a match they have to win to save the series with England leading 2-1. Harry Brook (33) was unbeaten at tea and with injured all-rounder Chris Woakes unable to bat, India will feel they are close to preventing England posting a healthy first-innings advantage. They certainly ran off the pitch in better heart than on the two previous occasions in the day as England had a dream start. Resuming at 204-6 India were skittled for 224 in less than half an hour as pace bowler Gus Atkinson took five wickets on his return to action having not played a test since May. It was an all-too-familiar collapse by the tourists this summer as Karun Nair was lbw to Tongue for 57 and Washington Sundar was caught for 26. Atkinson then bowled Mohammed Siraj and had Prasidh Krishna caught behind, both for ducks, to finish with 5-33 from 21.4 overs. England set about their reply in their usual, swashbuckling fashion, exemplified by an extraordinary "reverse hook" for six by Ben Duckett off Deep. They reached their 50 opening partnership in seven overs - the fastest England have ever managed in a test - but fell just short of the 100 as Duckett was caught behind reversing for 43.
