Metallica's ‘Enter Sandman' Reaches An Incredible Longevity Milestone

Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' celebrates 700 weeks on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, becoming ... More the band's longest-charting hit by far. More than a decade ago, Billboard introduced the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, and since then, Metallica has appeared on the tally fairly consistently. The beloved band has collected nearly two dozen smashes on the list, which measures the top-selling tracks in the hard rock style throughout the U.S. on platforms like iTunes and Amazon. Some of them have sometimes spent a year or more as bestsellers, and one title stands out as the group's most successful by far.
'Enter Sandman' has now racked up 700 weeks on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. It's rare for any tune to earn hundreds of stays on any Billboard ranking – that kind of showing is usually reserved for albums – especially one focused entirely on pure purchases, which typically dwindle shortly after a track's initial promotional period. A handful of cuts in any genre manage to break that mold and become never-ending bestsellers — and 'Enter Sandman' is one of those lucky few.
The tune is far and away Metallica's longest-running smash on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list. No other track from the band has reached triple-digit frames yet. 'Nothing Else Matters' is close, though. As it returns this time around at No. 9, it earns its ninetieth stay on the tally. In time, it will surely become another 100-week winner, though by then, 'Enter Sandman' will likely have continued adding to its cumulative total.
'Enter Sandman' has been present on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list for so long that it has spent more time on the roster than all of Metallica's other smashes combined. That roundup includes several tracks that lived on the list for months, such as 'One,' 'Master of Puppets,' 'Hardwired,' and several others.
This week, Metallica nearly recaptures the throne on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales tally, as 'Enter Sandman' holds at No. 2. It's kept from ruling only by 'Fight Like a Girl,' the brand new collaboration between Evanescence and K.Flay, which debuts atop the ranking.
No matter how fans consume hard rock music, Metallica's tune is a winner. 'Enter Sandman' also holds at its all-time high of No. 3 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally this week.

Did Joe Jonas Give an Accidental Update on a Potential 'Camp Rock 3'?

"Sorry Disney," the Jonas Brothers frontman said after sharing his thoughts on a possible third installmentNEED TO KNOW Camp Rock premiered in 2008 The film starred Joe Jonas alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin, as well as Demi Lovato Joe seemingly teased the possibility of a third film on the latest edition of Hot Ones VersusCamp Rock may be back in session — according to Joe Jonas. The singer made fans do a double-take when he made mention of a Camp Rock 3 while appearing on an episode of Hot Ones Versus with his brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The film came into discussion after Nick asked his brother to read his last Notes app entry out loud. The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Joe looked at the camera and said, "Oh, oh," and cleared his throat before saying, "Read Camp Rock 3." Nick put down his glass of milk as he made a shocked face at the camera, causing laughter from his brothers and the crew. He then said, "It's pretty good," causing Kevin to respond, 'Okay, that's a pretty good one.' "It's the truth," Joe said, before pointing at his phone and telling everyone, "It's literally right here." The conversation ended with Joe making a silly face as he said, "Sorry, Disney." PEOPLE has reached out to Disney for comment. Camp Rock premiered on the Disney Channel on June 20, 2008, following Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) as she attends the prestigious summer music camp, Camp Rock. While trying to fit in and hide her modest background, she befriends other campers and catches the attention of a famous pop star named Shane Gray (Joe), who is attending the camp to rediscover his passion for music. Nick and Kevin also appear in the film. After widespread success, a follow-up, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, premiered in 2010. Since then, there has been no official mention of a third film being in production. In 2017, however, Nick told PEOPLE he would be interested in filming an R-rated installment of the film. 'If the right thing comes together, I think that'd be fun. It's a really delicate thing because [they're two films] really beloved by fans. So I think for it to work, it'd have to be some creative new version where we get a writing team and do something special," he said, noting that he "absolutely" enjoys working with his brothers and Lovato. In June, Alyson Stoner, who played Caitlyn Geller in the Camp Rock films, said when asked by PEOPLE about a third installment: "I truly cannot confirm or deny anything. They haven't given me a ring." "I wonder where that plot line would go," Stoner added. "It would thicken. It would have to thicken quite a bit to get all of us back." Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam are now streaming on Disney+. Read the original article on People

Chance the Rapper talks about life after divorce ahead of 'Star Line' release

Chance the Rapper is opening up about co-parenting with his ex-wife as he prepares to release a new album and go on a national tour. The rapper from Chicago stopped by the 'CBS Morning' studio on Monday to discuss the release of his second studio album, 'Star Line.' Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, described the new EP as his 'most expansive work.' 'It covers a lot of different areas in my life,' he said. Chance etched his way into the music world after recording a mixtape during a high school suspension. He self-released "10 Days" in 2012 and began his career as an independent artist, a path that he continues to follow. He followed up his debut LP with "Acid Rap" a year later, and "Coloring Book" in 2016. In 2023, Chance celebrated the 10th anniversary of his second mixtape by performing the entire tape at the Kia Forum. "I wrote [Acid Rap] when I was opening up for artists playing 300-cap rooms. I'm rapping about doing open mics but closing my eyes and seeing arenas. Going back and playing arenas for that project just makes me proud," Chance said in a 2023 interview. Now, the rapper behind tracks like 'Cocoa Butter Kisses' and 'No Problem' said his new album reflects the change his personal life has gone through in the last six years, including his divorce from Kirsten Corley, with whom he shares two children. 'It's always just a good thing to, as an artist … release and to like, you know, just share with the world,' he added. The couple married back in 2019 and announced their separation last year on their Instagram. Corley filed for divorce in December 2024. They continue to raise their two young daughters together. 'You know, family is like one of the biggest things for me, for [Corley], for my kids, for my mom and dad, so I think the most important thing for anybody that's ever navigating [parenting after a divorce] is making sure that you keep an environment for the kids where they understand that [family is] the priority,' Bennett said. His last album, 'The Big Day,' was released in 2019. Chance the Rapper is releasing his follow-up on Friday and will go on tour starting in September, with a stop in L.A. on Oct. 20.
