New Delhi: English cricketer Jacob Bethell, who reprsesnts RCB in IPL 2025, spoke positively about working alongside Virat Kohli. He liked teaming up with his international teammates and felt that batting with Kohli really inspired him.
Because he has been with Royal Challengers Bangalore for such a long time, Virat Kohli stands out as a major influence and leader. He has had a major impact on the franchise, helping guide a lot of players throughout his career.
RCB opener Jacob Bethell discussed Virat Kohli's enduring influence and the value of Kohli's brief, helpful guidance.
'I think he quite enjoys the overseas boys because we are just pretty chill around him. He has definitely got that feeling. And when he walks out to bat, it is pretty electrifying to walk out with him.
'It (advice) was just like an accumulation over the couple of months of just chatting to him. You get information that keeps coming in ways that you do not really know, and it is kind of just drip-fed,' Jacob Bethell said, as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a highly successful regular season, winning many matches despite a poor home record. Their strong away performances proved their overall dominance in the league.
Rajat Patidar's team performed well, securing a playoff spot with a second-place finish. RCB decisively defeated PBKS in Qualifier 1, earning a place in the final. RCB's bowlers excelled, restricting PBKS to a low score, which they then comfortably chased.
Competition is intensifying as teams vie for the final remaining spot in the Narendra Modi Stadium championship.

In response to the critics, De Villiers, taking to his YouTube channel, revealed that he was away from national duty as he and his wife, Anushka Sharma, were expecting their second child. A few days later, he sharply retracted his statement, saying that he had 'made a big mistake.' Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar on the sidelines of the then-ongoing SA20 league in South Africa, he said: "Family comes first and then Cricket. I made a terrible mistake on my YouTube channel. That information was wrong and not true at all. Virat has every right to take a break from national duties due to family reasons. I think whatever's best for Virat's family, comes first. No one knows what's happening there, all I can do is wish him well. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he can come back stronger, better, and fresh from this." As it turned out, Kohli and Anushka did welcome their second child, a son named Akaay, on February 15, 2024. The couple had announced the news on social media.
