Eric Dane shares plan to fight ALS ‘as much as I can'

Independent5 hours ago

Euphoria actor Eric Dane says he plans to fight his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) 'as much as I can'.
Dane appeared on Good Morning America, where he said that his right side is no longer functioning, his left arm is getting weaker, and he feels he may lose the use of his left hand soon.
ALS, an incurable condition, affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to increasing muscle paralysis. Dane's symptoms began over a year ago with weakness in his right arm.
Dane credited his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, for her support, saying they have become better friends and parents throughout his disease.
Despite his diagnosis and the challenges it presents, Dane is returning to film season three of Euphoria and recently starred in Amazon Prime Video 's new series, Countdown.

Elizabeth Hurley looks loved-up with boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus as actress stuns in a plunging midi dress at The Royal Academy of Dance event

Elizabeth Hurley looked loved-up with her boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus as they attended The Royal Academy of Dance fundraising evening on Monday. Walking the red carpet at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London, the actress, 59, stunned in a plunging midi dress. Elizabeth teamed the fitted number with a pair of gold platform heels and styled her hair into loose curls. Billy opted for a black suit and shirt which he accessorised with a pair of aviator sunglasses. The couple, who went public with their romance on Easter Sunday, looked lovingly at each other while posing for photos. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The pair first met when they were working on 2022's Christmas in Paradise surprised their fans when they went Instagram official with their relationship in April this year. In a recent interview Breast Cancer Research Foundation's Hot Pink Party in New York City Liz addressed what many may consider an odd coupling. 'I think people found Billy and I being together a little surprising,' she told Page Six. 'It's not surprising to me because we're actually quite similar and get on extremely well. There has been quite a reaction.' Explaining the things they have in common, Hurley revealed, 'We both like to laugh a lot, and we both love the country. And we both love country music, both love movies. We've got a lot in common — and cowboy boots, definitely.' Billy has been married three times and is father to six children, but is reportedly estranged from several, including daughters Miley, 32 and Noah 25, whom he shares with ex-wife Trish Cyrus. Upon marrying in 1993, he also became stepfather to Trace as well as Brandi, 38, from Tish's previous relationship. Billy is also father to another son named Christopher, 33, whom he welcomed with ex Kristen Luckey. Trace recently slammed his father Billy as 'evil' and 'delusional' in a scathing Instagram post on Tuesday. The music artist, 36, uploaded a photo of the Achy Breaky Heart singer - and also accused his dad of not attending his grandmother's funeral despite recently flying to Italy with girlfriend Elizabeth. 'This man is so hungry for fame it's pathetic,' Trace began - five months after he begged Billy to get help following a 'trainwreck' performance at Trump's inauguration in January. 'He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn't come to LA for Mammie's funeral while he was still married to my mom,' he added, referencing to mom Tish. 'Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn't come even after the plane was paid for.' Trace then called his father 'the lamest man to ever walk planet earth' while adding he is 'embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol.' 'The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I'm old like you. Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it,' he concluded. The former guitarist for Metro Station also jumped to his Instagram stories where he further called out his dad. In one slide, Trace wrote to his followers, 'Also why does he think that homeless hairstyle looks good? So weird.' The comments on the Instagram post have since seemingly been disabled, but the singer screenshot one as well as his response beforehand. One follower had written, 'Seems like a cry for help from a son that desperately needs attention from his father. Bullying him isn't the answer btw.' However, Trace explained that he is 'past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again.' The singer added, 'I've surpassed him in every metric as a man on this planet. There's nothing left to learn from his except from his mistakes. I had hope at one point but I'm convinced he's finally a lost cause.' Towards the end of his reply, the media personality stated that he will 'continue to thrive and as the oldest son of the family the Cyrus last name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have.' Trace said that he 'will raise them the right way and be a part of their life no matter what the circumstances are.' Billy and Trace have been embroiled in drama after the guitarist begged his father to get help after his 'trainwreck' performance at the Liberty Ball during the Trump inauguration in January. At the time, Cyrus had taken to the stage at the Washington Convention Center - which was plagued by technical issues that prompted him to improvise and perform a cappella at some points. In another instance, the performer's silhouette could be seen moving about the stage as music played in the background - prompting social media users to label the situation as 'plain embarrassing.' But Billy had brushed aside the awkward performance, posting on Instagram that 'you just had to be there' and that he 'wouldn't have missed the honor' of performing at the ball. However, Trace took to Instagram to express concern for his father and wrote that he 'barely recognizes' him.

DC Studios head issues update on latest Batman films

James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, has confirmed that the sequel to Matt Reeves 's The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, is still in development despite rumours of cancellation. Gunn assured fans that Reeves is currently working on the script for The Batman Part II, which is expected to be released on 2 October 2026. Reeves's The Batman exists outside the DC Universe in its own universe, but Gunn indicated there's a very small chance Reeves's Batman could be integrated into the DCU in the future, saying 'I would never say zero'. What is the Real Project X on Netflix about? Facebook party invite explained

BACK in 2012, a small Dutch town was turned upside down when a teenager made a simple mistake on social media. A sweet sixteen party got so out of hand that the notorious night was even made into a Hollywood movie titled Project X. 3 3 What is the Real Project X on Netflix about? In 2012, a teenage girl wanted to invite some friends to her sixteenth birthday party in her hometown of Haren, Groningen, Netherlands. She created an event on Facebook, intending for it to be a private gathering. However, she accidentally set the invitation to public, meaning anyone could see it and RSVP. What happened next was completely unexpected and soon became a cautionary tale about the power and unpredictability of social media. Like in the Hollywood movie Project X — released just months earlier, depicting a wild, out-of-control high school party — Dutch teenagers began to share and spread the Facebook event. In the film, the party quickly spirals into chaos, with hundreds of people showing up, leading to excessive drinking, drug use, property destruction, violence and a full-scale police intervention. It ends with the main characters facing serious consequences, including legal trouble and financial ruin due to the damages caused. Project X was reportedly loosely inspired by a real-life event in 2008 in Melbourne, Australia, where a teenager threw a massive party while his parents were away. He promoted it on social media and over 500 people attended, resulting in property damage and police involvement. Back in Haren in 2012, the Facebook invite for the birthday party quickly went viral, with thousands of people RSVPing. Despite being warned about the potential scale of the gathering, local authorities underestimated how big the event would become and failed to prepare adequate security or crowd control measures. When the day of the party arrived, a massive crowd descended on the small town. 3 The situation rapidly escalated from a harmless gathering to a full-blown riot. There was widespread disorder, vandalism, looting and clashes with police. The town of Haren suffered major property damage and the event made headlines across the Netherlands and beyond. Trainwreck: The Real Project X An episode of Netflix's Trainwrecked documents this extraordinary sequence of events. Using interviews, archival footage and social media posts, it pieces together how a simple Facebook mistake led to total chaos. It also examines the role of the Project X movie in inspiring teens to attend the party — blurring the line between fiction and reality. Episodes of Trainwreck started dropping on Netflix on June 10, 2025, with The Real Project X available for streaming from July 8.
