Countdown Counters a Steamy Amber/ Mark Scene With Frightful Cliffhanger

The following contains spoilers from the July 30 episode of , now streaming on Prime Video. Countdown Episode 8 (of 13) came thisclose to throwing two team members into bed, before leaving viewers with one gut punch of a cliffhanger. More from TVLine Destination X Winner Revealed! That plan proved ill-fated, however, when he got caught trying to bribe a city official. Irate at being deprived of the American dream (coupled with everything else he had lost), he killed his heretofore-helpful lawyer in a fiery car explosion, and set out on his plan of vengeance…. In the present day, we saw Volchek test law enforcement response times by having a hired hand park a skinned 'American Postal Service' truck outside the federal building. As the task force scouted out the scene, Blythe (Eric Dane) repeatedly reprimanded Meachum (Jensen Ackles) for getting too close to the potentially explosive truck — which happened to interrupt Mark telling his SAC about his tumor. Afterwards, Bell (Elliot Knight) got a bead on a property where Volchek & Co. are likely storing the other skinned trucks. (That earned him an appreciated 'Attaboy!' from SAC Blythe.) By the time the team arrived at the remote location, the barn was empty, but there was evidence (many emptied bags of fertilizer) to underscore the magnitude of the threat at hand. Blythe sent his team home to catch up on sleep ahead of an assuredly busy 48-hour shift. Meachum invited Oliveras (Jessica Camacho) to spare herself some commuting time by crashing at his place — he'll 'take the sofa' and all that — but after an exchange of looks that screamed, 'We would not wind up sleeping,' Amber declined. For one, she needs to sleep with a white noise machine (that Mark generously offered to imitate); secondly, she snarked, 'I'm not Melinda Bates' (as in Mark's ex-girlfriend) 'or her sister Rachel' (with whom he cheated on Melinda). 'So that wouldn't work.' Blythe meanwhile used the latest gathering of evidence — and some strong-armed nudges from D.C. politicians — to leverage Belarusian consul general Astapov into coughing up his file on Volcheck. Astapov agreed, and (as we all do!) had handy the location of a random alley at which he and Buh-lyyythe should meet that night. When Blythe rolled up, he found Astapov dead behind the wheel of his sedan, sporting a Colombian necktie. Blythe barely had a chance to react when he turned to find himself on the receiving end of a dagger being twisted into his side by Volchek. Spooked by passing headlights, Volchek sauntered away, while a stunned Blythe slowly slumped to the pavement, the blade sticking through his suit jacket and looking not easily extractable…. Countdown's Elliot Knight Breaks Down That Bell/Valwell Bait-and-Snitch: ‘His Eye Is on the Prize'

The following contains spoilers from the July 23 episode of , now streaming on Prime Video. Tensions are running high on Countdown, as lead after lead on slippery Volchek comes up empty — or, worse, steers Task Force Hurricane into a dead end because someone apparently is snitching on their next moves. More from TVLine Dexter: Resurrection's Michael C. Hall and Krysten Ritter Detail Killer Dinner Party, Dexter and Mia's Instant Connection - Watch Gen V Season 2 Trailer Reveals Ethan Slater's Casting, Starlight's Mission for Marie and a Chance Perdomo Tribute Save the Dates: Solar Opposites Swan Song, E! News Shuts Down and More That was the case this week, in Episode 7 (of 13), when the team's stealthy raid of a company that works with fissile materials turned up only a smug lawyer sitting inside a recently emptied warehouse. SAC Blythe (played by Eric Dane) was quick to call out the SWAT team leader for having a rat in his ranks, but for naught. Is there a mole in the midst? Adding to the paranoia was an earlier scene between FBI Special Agent Keyonte Bell (The Boys' Elliot Knight) and District Attorney Grayson Valwell (Merrick McCartha), the same ambitious politico who has been (unsuccessfully!) bugging Blythe to keep him apprised of each and every development. Valwell spoke of how he worked with Bell's father and, more pointedly, how Bell's father (ahem) knew what to do to get ahead. Valwell clearly was courting Bell to be his man on the inside. And one might not fault Bell for being susceptible to such an overture, given how stung he was when Blythe chided him for mocking a colleague's bad tip. Of all Hurricane members, Bell 'definitely has the most to prove, and I think he's the most focused on how he can prove himself,' portrayer Elliot Knight tells TVLine. But if Bell continues to struggle to impress his SAC, there could be the temptation to at least consider alternative paths up the professional ladder. 'This is a big deal to be a part of a task force like this, but I do think it's important to Bell that his eye is on the prize, and that is to rise up the ranks,' says Knight. 'My question, as Elliot, is why does it sting?' to get dinged by Blythe. 'Is it as simple as him wanting to be the director of the FBI one day? What else is at play?' Luckily, viewers did not have to wait until next week to find out if Bell took the bait. Because at episode's end — as part of a montage that also included Mark confiding his tumor sitch with Amber and Volchek leading some Belarusian adversaries into a brilliantly explosive trap — Bell met again with Valwell to assert his loyalty to Blythe & Co. and acknowledge that, yes, his father was many things that he isn't. 'Bell knows that Valwell had a professional relationship with his father, and Valwell speaks to that and almost floats the sense of power over Bell — 'I worked with your dad and he made the right choice, because he knew what to do,'' Knight notes. 'It's a test for Bell to see what he will do.' But did Bell pass said test by refusing to be a snitch? Or is he perhaps cunningly playing a long game? 'There's a question mark over what happened in the past' with his father, says Knight, and 'either Bell has committed to this sense of justice and that's what he's going to fight for always, or there's something else he's looking to work towards. 'I think the smart play is to always assume that there's a bigger picture in this world, than what's happening on the surface,' the actor teases. Want scoop on , or for any other TV show? GPMI is coming: The new tech that could replace HDMI, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt

Photo Credit - X: Md Atiquz Zaman A new tech called GPMI has been announced. GPMI stands for General Purpose Media Interface. It's a new type of cable that can do many things with just one wire – like sending video, audio, internet, and even power. GPMI was created by more than 50 Chinese tech companies. Some big companies involved are Hisense, Skyworth, TCL, and others. It could replace popular cables like HDMI, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt in the future. GPMI can support 8K video, which means super high-quality pictures. It also helps reduce the number of cables needed when connecting devices, as stated by The Indian Express. Type-C GPMI cable – works with USB-C, supports 96 Gbps bandwidth and gives 240W of power. Type-B GPMI cable – uses a special connector, supports 192 Gbps bandwidth and gives 480W of power. Even though the Type-C GPMI is slower than Type-B, it's still more than twice as fast as regular USB4 ports, which usually offer 40 Gbps. So, GPMI is faster, more powerful, and more useful than the current tech like HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB, as mentioned by The Indian Express report. People in the tech world have mixed feelings about GPMI. Big hardware and software companies see that GPMI is powerful. Companies like Huawei and TCL are already using GPMI, showing they trust it. More big companies might start using GPMI soon, according to the report by Allianz Technologies.
