EX-RANGERS star Peter Lovenkrands hasn't managed for more than three years.
But the former Ibrox ace is reportedly eyeing a shock return to the dugout.

He had a memorable six-year spell as a player

Lovenkrands, 45, was a firm fans' favourite at Rangers during his six-year spell from 2000 until 2006.
The Danish forward netted a memorable last-gasp winner to beat Celtic in the 2002 Scottish Cup Final and was integral in the Gers' treble triumph the following season.
In total, Lovenkrands won two league titles, two Scottish Cups and three League Cups with the club.
He moved on at the end of the 2005/06 season, a campaign that saw him inspire Rangers to the Champions League knockout stages.
Lovenkrands went on to play for Schalke, Newcastle and Birmingham before retiring in 2014.
He embarked on a coaching career that saw him return to Rangers in 2017.
Initially working as a part-time academy coach, Lovenkrands became reserve team boss in 2018.
He landed his first senior managerial gig back in his homeland Denmark in 2021.
Lovenkrands was appointed Fremad Amager boss in May 2021 but departed the role just over a year later after a 10th placed finish in the Danish second tier.
His last coaching role was as assistant manager of AaB, a role he left last year.

But now, he's reportedly eyeing a coaching return.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, Lovenkrands wants to be the next manager of Larne.
The report claims he's expressed an interest in the role.
It would be a stunning return to the dugout for Lovenkrands with a club that finished second in the NIFL Premiership last season.
Larne also reached the Conference League league phase last season but missed out this time around having lost out to Portuguese club Santa Clara.
Former Celtic coach Damien Duff, who quit Shelbourne earlier this year, is also in the frame for the job.
Larne sacked Nathan Rooney as boss yesterday after just 10 games in charge.

Rangers boss Russell Martin not giving up hope on Champions League hopes
Russell Martin believes Rangers can still get through their Champions League play-off tie despite the 3-1 defeat by Club Brugge at Ibrox. In a nightmare first 20 minutes, goals from Romeo Vermant – following some calamitous defending by Gers defender Nasser Djiga – Jorne Spileers and Brandon Mechele had the visitors 3-0 up and Ibrox in an uproar. Brazilian striker Danilo pulled a goal back four minutes after the break and the home side rallied, but the Belgian outfit stood firm and boos greeted the players at the end. The second leg is in Belgium next Wednesday but against the evidence of the first half at Ibrox, Martin remains optimistic. 'We conceded a crazy goal and didn't respond to it anywhere well enough,' he said. 'We then conceded a goal from a corner which is really frustrating. 'And then it becomes so difficult and then after that, we make decisions based on desperation and anxiety, jump when we shouldn't, get played around and so the game plan went out the window at that point. 'And we needed a moment to calm down and refocus but it was difficult and we didn't respond well as a club to that because we were hurt early in the game. 'The lads showed amazing resilience in the second half, the fans were amazing the second half, considering the disappointment of the first half. 'And the tie is still open and the players feel that, they really feel that. 'I am proud of them and the first half was as hard as it will ever be and how they got through that, some of the guys who have had a tough start here, the way they played tonight, they will grow from that and we will as a group. 'So the tie is still game on so I am excited about that opportunity. 'My message to supporters is the team needs them. Whatever happens, we need them. We have to give them enough to believe in their team. 'Everyone's entitled to their opinions but we need everyone to grow together if we want to be successful.' Club Brugge boss Nicky Hayen also insisted the tie was far from over. He said: 'We knew where the spaces were. We played here in the friendly game (pre-season), and we showed also in that first half that if our players play at their best level, that they can hurt a lot of teams. 'We said before the game, OK, the atmosphere is incredible, but you have to embrace the atmosphere and not fight against it, and this is what they did in the first seven minutes perfectly, and this is the way how you can get the silence into a stadium. 'But as long as there is still 90 minutes to play, everything is possible. 'We don't forget that we are 2-0 down against Salzburg also. So we have to be smart, we have to be intelligent, play our best football, like in the first half.' We go in as underdogs - I'll enjoy that and I think the players will as well."Judging by the furious reaction of the Rangers supporters during the mortifying opening quarter of the game, again when the half time whistle blew, then at the end of the game, not all will agree with Martin's asked about the tumult of anger that rolled down from the Ibrox stands, the head coach acknowledged that the fans were entitled to react as they did, but cautioned that "the precursor to change is pain"."I understand the intensity and emotion here but it can't change the way we work and become a weight around the players necks," Martin said."There has been fragility in this club for a long, long time. Rangers 1 Club Brugge 3: PLAYER RATINGS: Which home player was the only man who seemed to want the ball? And who was standing around like a scarecrow for the second goal?
Russell Martin's Rangers were blown away by a rampant Club Brugge side at Ibrox as their Champions League hopes were left hanging by a thread. Goals from Romeo Vermant and Jorne Spileers had the visitors two in front after only seven minutes, and some home supporters were heading for the exits on 20 minutes when Brugge centre-half Brandon Mechele rifled home a third. While Danilo gave the home fans something to cheer by pulling one back five minutes after the interval following a fine cross from new boy Jayden Meghoma, Rangers were fortunate to come out of the game with just a two-goal deficit. Some supporters may grumble about the merits of Djeidi Gassama's disallowed effort that was chalked off after goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was adjudged to have had two hands on the ball when the French youngster prodded it into the net, but nothing could detract from the mood around the ground following such a lacklustre first half. Our man GARY KEOWN was on hand to run the rule over another worrying display in Martin's troubled early tenure, and as expected some Ibrox stars came off worse than others... Jack Butland 7 Not to blame for opener and kept the score down with really good saves from Forbs and Mechele among others. Max Aarons 4 Still not showing much to suggest why he was brought in on loan. Dug in and was a bit better second half. John Souttar 3.5 Standing around like a scarecrow at the goal that led to Brugge's second. Defence just looked weak all night. Nasser Djiga 2 What he was doing at the opener is anyone's guess. A bomb scare in that first 45. Just looks wobbly all-round. Jayden Meghoma 4 Had a really torrid first 45 on his debut, but did at least set up Danilo for his goal before going off for Tavernier. Mohamed Diomande 2 One or two attacking moves that led to nothing and one dismal effort wide. Just never properly involved in the game. Joe Rothwell 3.5 Taken off late on and just didn't influence the game. Could have done better at Brugge's third and needs to take charge. Nico Raskin 4 Not at the races in that awful first half and although better in the second period, he needs to show more bite. Oliver Antman 3.5 A spectator in the first 45, he was a little more involved after the break, but nothing really came off for him. Danilo 3 Did score from close-range, but offered nothing else. Caught sleeping when Mechele made it 3-0 as well. Not good enough. Djeidi Gassama 7.5 Even in that first half, he was the only player who wanted the ball. Maybe a little unlucky not to have late goal awarded. SUBSTITUTES: Igamane (Danilo 59), Aasgaard (Diomande 59), Tavernier (Meghoma 70), Moore (Antman 70), Cameron (Rothwell 86). Russell Martin 3 No subs at half-time. Team just doesn't look organised. Take the corner that led to goal No2 as an example. A man in bother.
