New CCTV released in search of suspects in attempted of murder of Belfast man amid ‘serious concerns' over investigation

Earlier this week, police issued CCTV images of two men they said they believe were involved in the case as part of an appeal.
However Mr O'Reilly has questioned why the images were pixelated, adding that it seemed 'extremely counter-productive to request help in identifying the suspects while also obscuring their image'.
His solicitor, Peter Corrigan of Phoenix Law, said they have 'serious concerns around the investigation'.
'This is just the latest unusual occurrence in this investigation,' he said.

'We will now add this to a long list of complaints already made to the Police Ombudsman in relation to the handling of the case.'
Responding, a PSNI spokesperson said: 'Detectives released still images of the two suspects with the aim of encouraging anyone with information, or footage, to come forward.

'In one of the images, the face of one suspect has been pixelated. This has been purposefully applied in order to prevent potential misidentification or retribution.
'Instead, it is hoped that both images, backed by the reward from Crimestoppers, will encourage anyone with information to get in touch using the appropriate channels.
'Detectives have made a particular ask, and would reiterate their appeal, to anyone with CCTV to check for similar images that may have been captured from the morning of Sunday 23 February.
'Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 101.'

Six post boxes ‘uprooted' across Antrim, PSNI says
Six community post boxes have been targeted, cut and uprooted in towns across Antrim in recent days, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has said while appealing for witnesses. Two men due in court over attempted murder of off-duty police officer DCI John Caldwell in Co. Tyrone
TWO men are due in court over the attempted murder of an off-duty police officer in Co. Tyrone. Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell (pictured) was shot multiple times in front of his young son as he packed up after coaching a youth football team in Omagh in February 2023. He sustained life-changing injuries in the attack and retired from the PSNI in December 2024 on medical grounds. On Monday, a 45-year-old man was arrested in the Stewartstown area and a 25-year-old man was arrested in west Belfast, with both detained under the Terrorism Act. Police also searched a property in west Belfast and seized a vehicle. Yesterday, the pair were charged with the Preparation of Terrorist Acts and Perverting the Course of Justice. Maria M Connelly (41) turned herself into the Syracuse Police Department said on Monday, accompanied by her attorney. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It has been claimed that Connelly who is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment was leaving the bar when she pushed Baker twice, causing him to fall off the barstool. The complaint said both pushes were "completely unprovoked". Connelly then kicked Baker when he was on the ground, the complaint alleged and was heard saying, "good" when she was told that he may be dead.
