Chris Stark returns to Capital following cancer diagnosis with important message
Chris Stark returned to the Capital Breakfast Show this morning (March 25) alongside his co-hosts Jordan North and Sian Welby, following his cancer diagnosis.
In a statement last night on Instagram (March 24), the 38-year-old revealed he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer and urged men to check themselves.
However this morning he returned to his hosting duties, following surgery and 10 days of chemotherapy, with an important message for his male listeners.
Chris, who previously worked as a co-host on Scott Mills' BBC Radio 1 show until 2022 also shared how he "regrets" not checking himself properly as "I feel like I put my family at risk".
As he went live on the airwaves on Tuesday, he began by saying: "Oh my word it feels so good to be back, it feels a bit surreal to me".
After Jordan read out well wishes from fans via text message, Chris shared he was "staggered" and "overwhelmed" by the response to his Instagram post.
He then explained: "About two months ago now I got diagnosed with testicular cancer and this is a really heavy thing and I'm aware of that, we're on the radio to try and make you feel a bit better about your lives and we're part of your routine, so if you don't mind just humouring me for a couple of minutes just while I share this."
Chris continued: "There's been lots of doctors' appointments, I had some surgery at one point, I came back from that surgery maybe a little earlier than I should of."
Sian joined in: "You are such a trooper, I've never known anyone like it, you genuinely don't make a fuss about anything and what has been incredible Chris, is you were going through all of that and nobody would have known."
Chris added: "Last week I made the decision to have chemotherapy as well and the idea of that was to kind of increase the chances of it not coming back.
"So it's preventative rather than curing anything but yeah that's where I've been, for the last 10 days or so I've been having chemotherapy which has been rubbish and it's horrible.
"But you know a lot of people go through this and I'm very aware of that and so I've made a decision that I want to talk about it because I think there's a bit of a stigma about this kind of thing, I mean it's quite hard to talk about given the area that it's in.
"But testicular cancer is so treatable and it's really common in men aged 18-49, this blew my mind when I found out about it.
"So I think it's really important to talk about it and if it means that me kind of being honest about what I've gone through and sharing that experience, I'm happy to do it if it means that that conversation is a bit more easier for other blokes.

All you need to know about testicular cancer from symptoms to how it's treated
"Maybe it will encourage some people to go check themselves because I didn't do that properly and I feel like an idiot for that, I feel like I put my family at risk, put a lot of personal stuff at risk and I really regret that. It really annoys me.
"So I just want to encourage people to go check themselves and if that potentially leaves some good from this situation, then I'm really happy to put my one ball on the line."

Kate Middleton's Cancer Struggle Reportedly More Intense Than Revealed
Kate Middleton's Cancer Struggle Reportedly More Intense Than Revealed originally appeared on Parade. Fifteen months after Kate Middleton bravely shared her cancer diagnosis with the world, new reports suggest her private health battle was reportedly more serious than previously revealed. This update comes in the wake of the Princess of Wales pulling out of a Royal Ascot appearance at the last minute, raising fresh concerns about her condition and sparking renewed speculation about her recovery. Royal editor and insider Rebecca English penned an essay for The Daily Mail, addressing these concerns. She claimed the princess was "seriously unwell" before her surgery in January 2024. English speculated, "As I have previously revealed, the princess was seriously unwell in the run-up to her surgery in the first place. And while that is a story only for her to tell, if she ever chooses to do so." "I can say that, from what I understand, she is fortunate to even be speaking of recovery. So, while she may be glowing on the outside, the drama over her last-minute non-attendance at Royal Ascot last week is, perhaps, a timely reminder that the princess was really very poorly not so long ago." She addressed her health in March of that same year when she took to social media to share a video statement. Subsequently, Kate took on her first official engagement, 2024's Trooping the Color, six months after her surgery. She continued to maintain a light schedule throughout the remainder of the year. In January 2025, the princess announced she was in remission during an appearance at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Her statement was printed via Instagram. During the same appearance, Kate opened up further about her cancer treatment while speaking with fellow patients. The Daily Mail captured a portion of the Princess's conversation, offering a rare glimpse into her health journey. "You think treatment's finished, crack on with that… daily tasks, but that's still like a real challenge. And talking… the words totally disappear… understanding that as a patient, yes there are side effects around treatment, but actually there are more long-term side effects." While speaking with a patient, the Princess of Wales gestured to her arm and chest. She appeared to reference the port used to deliver her chemotherapy treatment. 'I got so attached to it,' the Princess revealed. Additionally, she shared her hesitation when doctors said, 'You can have it taken out now.' Kate Middleton continues to keep a modified royal schedule. She is married to Prince William and is the mother of three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Lizzo Reveals the Diet Change That Helped Her Lose Weight Without Ozempic
As a four-time Grammy Award winner and fashion visionary with her inclusive shapewear brand Yitty, Lizzo has become a household name in the entertainment industry. The 'Truth Hurts' singer also speaks openly about body positivity not only in her lyrics, but in interviews and on social media, where she discussed her body confidence and weight loss journey. In a June 19 appearance on Trisha Paytas's podcast Just Trish, Lizzo opened up about the weight loss strategies that have worked for her—plus the ones she's opted out of. In a September 2024 Instagram post, Lizzo shared a video with the caption, 'When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,' addressing fans' questions on whether the type 2 diabetes drug played a role in her health journey. In the Just Trish episode, Lizzo and Paytas discussed losing weight with Ozempic. Paytas said that pregnancy has prevented her from trying it, but after she gives birth to her third child she would consider using the medication. Paytas then asked Lizzo if she's ever tried any weight loss medication. "I've tried everything,' Lizzo responded. 'It's just the science for me: calories in, versus calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food. That's it. It makes you feel full. So if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same.' Swapnil Patel, MD, MHCM, FACP, Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center, says that although medications can be helpful, nutrition plays a big role in weight loss. 'Many people are surprised by how much impact nutrition alone can have on their hunger, energy and weight when they shift toward higher-quality, whole foods,' says Dr. Patel. 'While medications can be a helpful tool for some, especially those with underlying metabolic conditions, others find that simplifying their eating habits and tuning in to natural hunger cues is more sustainable long-term. The key is keeping to what works for each individual's body and life.' While Lizzo seems to generally follow a 'calories in, calories out' mindset, she's also adjusted her diet to make sure she's getting enough satiating calories vs. empty calories. Lizzo shared that while following a vegan diet in the past, she often didn't feel full despite consuming a high number of calories. 'When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats," Lizzo said. "I was eating a lot of bread. I was eating a lot of rice. And I had to eat a lot of it to stay full. But really, I was consuming like 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day.' She also opened up about the hidden calories and additives in foods that appeared healthy. 'We live in a society that makes super calorically-dense food and they hide it," Lizzo said. "So you're eating something that's small and you think, 'Oh yeah this is a healthy little protein bar.' It'll be like 300 calories and filled with all this fake sugar and weird s--- that f---- you up on the inside that you're not even aware of. Then you'd still be hungry.' On the podcast, Lizzo shared that she followed a diet around plant foods for a decade before incorporating meat and seafood back into her diet. 'I think I was plant-based for like 10 years,' Lizzo said. 'And then really vegan from 2020 to 2023.' While switching to a new dietary routine after so many years may seem difficult, Lizzo not only made the change, but found it helpful in kick-starting her weight loss. 'When I started actually eating whole foods and eating beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of like fake things in there that wasn't actually filling me up,' Lizzo said. 'When someone transitions from a highly-processed diet to one based on whole, minimally-processed foods, it can have a profound impact on their overall wellbeing,' says Dr. Patel. 'Whole foods are naturally richer in fiber, protein and essential nutrients—all of which support steadier blood sugar levels, more sustained energy and improved satiety.' If you've found yourself struggling to feel full with seemingly healthy meals, a whole food diet could help. 'Whole foods tend to be more satiating because they're higher in fiber, water and volume that promote a sense of fullness,' says Dr. Patel. 'Additionally, they often require more chewing and digestion, triggering satiety hormones like GLP-1 and peptide YY. In contrast, ultra-processed foods are designed to be hyper-palatable and easy to over consume. They often bypass the body's natural satiety signals, which can lead to eating more without feeling full.' Rather than focusing on weight loss, Lizzo has said she's on a 'weight release' journey—a 'very intentional' term that she said more accurately ecompasses the holistic changes she's making without negatively impacting her younger fans. "My man, he's so funny,' said Lizzo of her boyfriend Mike Wright, as reported by People. 'He was the one that brought it to my attention at first. Because at first I was like, 'Oh my gosh I lost five pounds' and he was like, 'Where did it go?' It's like, I don't think I want to lose anything. I think I want to win. I think I want to gain.' And in a January 2025 Instagram post, Lizzo shared that she reached her goal, reducing her body fat by 16 percent and lowering her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5 points. 'I did it,' she wrote. 'Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven't seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!' Saints hire their new injury rehab director from Kellen Moore's alma mater
It didn't take long for the New Orleans Saints to find a new director of rehab after Jonathan Gress left for a homecoming at Oklahoma earlier this month. Nick Underhill reports that the Saints hired Garrett Holle for that vacancy; he previously worked at Boise State as their assistant athletic director in sports performance and health and wellness. Holle arrived at Boise State in 2023 and quickly climbed the ladder in their sports medicine department. He confirmed the move himself in an announcement from his official Instagram account, along with a message of thanks to all the friends he met at Boise State. Good for him. Holle is a younger guy, having earned his bachelor's degree in biology at Fort Hays State in 2016 (coincidentally, Saints defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd was a member of the football team at the time) before studying further at Kansas and Northern Arizona. In-between completing his studies and working in college athletics, he was a physical therapist at several different private institutions. Still, this is a big jump. And it carries a lot of pressure given the Saints' history with injuries and frustrating rehab experiences after surgery. Hopefully, Holle's fresh perspective makes a big difference in 2025 and beyond.
