Shomurodov to start in Hellas Verona clash
Claudio Ranieri is thinking of introducing a few changes to his side's line-up for the upcoming match against Hellas Verona.
Eldor Shomurodov could in fact feature as a starter, thanks to the positive moment of the Uzbek striker, who has always made himself ready in recent appearances.
To give way to Shomurodov could be Artem Dovbyk, who did not take part in the training open to the public at the Tre Fontane stadium, followed by about 3,000 fans.
The club, as also reported by Corriere dello Sport, spoke of a precautionary management of Dovbyk's physical conditions, excluding any injuries.
The Ukrainian striker will be called up but is likely to remain on the bench.

Former Atalanta coach Gasperini appointed at Roma

Roma have appointed ex-Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini as their new head coach. He's penned a three-year deal with the club, which is owned by Texas-based businessman Dan Friedkin. Gasperini called time on his nine-year spell at Atalanta last Saturday and will now step in for Claudio Ranieri, who's hung up his boots after guiding Roma to fifth place last season. Advertisement While at Atalanta, Gasperini had a solid run, winning the Europa League in 2024, bagging six top-four Serie A finishes, and even making it to a Champions League quarter-final. Taking over from him at Atalanta is former Southampton boss Ivan Juric, who was confirmed on Friday.

Gasperini takes over from Ranieri at Roma after successful run at Atalanta

ROME (AP) — Gian Piero Gasperini was named Roma's new coach on Friday, taking over for the retiring Claudio Ranieri following his own successful run at Atalanta. 'I need a significant challenge,' Gasperini said in an interview released by Roma . He signed a three-year deal for the club owned by Texas-based businessman Dan Friedkin. In nine seasons at Atalanta, Gasperini guided the Bergamo club to a Europa League triumph in 2024, six top-four finishes in Serie A, and a Champions League quarterfinal. The 73-year-old Ranieri was hired in November when Roma was struggling in 12th place, and his contract specified he would take on an advisor role after the season. Rainieri guided Roma to a fifth-place finish as the Giallorossi lost just once during the second half of the season, and was involved in selecting the 67-year-old Gasperini, who is known for his free-flowing attacking tactics. Gasperini becomes Roma's fourth coach in the 1 ½ years since Jose Mourinho was fired, following Daniele De Rossi, Ivan Juric and Ranieri. ___ AP soccer:
