Where did Bills' Damar Hamlin finish in 2024 NFL Comeback Player of the Year voting?

USA Today13-02-2025

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was named a finalist for the 2024 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award.
Hamlin was a finalist for the honor for a second-straight year. The NFL Honors ceremony ended up being taken over by Bills quarterback Josh Allen as he won the 2024 NFL MVP Award.
Despite many believing he was the favorite to take home the award once again, Hamlin did not.
In back-to-back years, quarterbacks ended up surprisingly edging out Hamlin after his return to Buffalo's roster following his episode with cardiac arrest.
The voting process for the award is based on voters giving candidates a first place vote, second place, and so on.
In the end, here's how the full voting broke down for the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award:

MVP Win Not Shifting Bills' Josh Allen From Super Bowl Mindset

MVP Win Not Shifting Bills' Josh Allen From Super Bowl Mindset originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the NFL MVP award for his stellar 2024 season, which was the best of his career. Advertisement But that was months ago. Time has moved on, and now attention is firmly on the 2025 season and what the Bills, who are one of the favorites for the Super Bowl, can accomplish. However, being the league MVP is a great honor and a valuable accolade to have, but it isn't the be-all and end-all. In fact, Josh's offseason hasn't been any different, and he knows it means absolutely zero when it comes to the 2025 season. "It's no different to me to be honest,' Allen said. 'At the end of the day, it doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of winning championships, so that's kind of what it is.' Bills quarterback Josh Allen after winning MVP© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images With the Bills' eyes now firmly fixed on this upcoming season, Allen's MVP award, as he stated, doesn't move the needle one way or the other when it comes to what can be accomplished in this new season. Advertisement Allen has a ring; he just married Hollywood actress Hailee Steinfeld. But he wants more. He has three new weapons in Joshua Palmer, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Elijah Moore, and Josh has already mentioned an adjustment period for the trio, so some moving parts need to settle down this offseason. Buffalo is seen by many to have perhaps the most well-rounded roster in football, with the best chance at Super Bowl glory since Allen was drafted, but we have heard that before. Now is the time to build the foundation for what Buffalo hopes will be a productive season, and for Allen, the MVP now means nothing - it's all about getting that championship. Bills Sign Potential Rookie Starter to $15 Million Contract

Bills Sign Potential Rookie Starter to $15 Million Contract originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Buffalo Bills made nine picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and two of them were players from the University of Kentucky's defense. Advertisement The team selected cornerback Maxwell Hairston with the 30th overall pick in the first round, and defensive lineman Deone Walker with the 109th pick in the fourth round. Now, they have signed both players to rookie deals, according to Ian Rapoport. Buffalo was bottom half in the league this past season in sacks, and that is what Walker comes in looking to help them do. He racked up 10 sacks in his time with the Wildcats, as well as 23 tackles for loss. He might not be a starter immediately, but he could very well compete for that spot as time goes on. As for Hairston, he comes into a Bills secondary that allowed the ninth-most passing yards in the league in 2024, so he will come in looking to immediately make an impact. In 2023, the 21-year-old defensive back led the SEC Conference in interceptions with five, two of which he was able to take back to the house. Advertisement Hairston's deal is for four years and is worth $15.2 million, which is a slotted price that the team is more than willing to pay for a player who could be in their secondary for many years to come. Buffalo fell to the Kansas City Chiefs once again in the playoffs this past season, so the two UK Wildcats and the rest of the team's defense will be looking to help lead the team back to the postseason. Joey Bosa Expected To Have Full Workload in Buffalo Bills Camp

Joey Bosa Expected To Have Full Workload in Buffalo Bills Camp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The big splash of the Buffalo Bills' offseason was landing edge rusher Joey Bosa. Bosa is a five-time Pro Bowler and, when healthy, one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Advertisement That caveat is an important one, though. Bosa has played just 28 games over the past five seasons. He had a mostly healthy 2024, playing in 14 games and being named to his fifth Pro Bowl. Bosa has been dealing with a calf injury that he suffered in the offseason, but he has been working with the Bills' medical staff this spring. Bosa has missed practice due to injury, and to the concern of many Bills fans. According to Buffalo News' Ryan O'Halloran, his absence is out of caution, and he'll be up and running for a full workload in July for training camp. "Joey Bosa (calf) said being cautious with sitting out but expects to be full go by camp" Halloran reported on X. Advertisement Bosa was drafted with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chargers. Bosa spent all nine of his NFL seasons with the franchise before being released this offseason. To date, Bosa has 72 career sacks, the 14th-highest mark among active players and a top 100 mark in NFL history since the stat became official in 1982. Bosa has tallied double-digit sack totals in four of his nine NFL seasons, and for his career he averages 11.4 sacks per 17 games. Bosa will be joining an already strong defensive unit for the Bills. Paired with Greg Rousseau on the edge and Ed Oliver and Daquan Jones in the middle, Buffalo's front four will be a force to be reckoned with for opposing offensive lines. Not to mention the fact that the Bills have a pair of heavy hitters behind them, in linebackers Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard. Advertisement Bosa's cousin, wide receiver Jake Kumerow played three seasons with the Bills from 2020-2022. In Buffalo, Kumerow played 27 games, hauling in seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. Kumerow mainly cut his teeth on special teams, where he played 430 snaps for the Bills.
