Polish foreign minister says Ukrainians have given Trump a credit of trust
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has stated that Ukraine aims to "accelerate certain processes" in the US-led diplomatic efforts to end the Russo-Ukrainian war.

Details: According to Sikorski, his Ukrainian sources have expressed gratitude to the United States for de-escalating the situation, which could pave the way for American negotiations with Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin. However, he noted that "this goes against the canons of diplomacy".
"According to the established canon, first, a confidential channel of communication is opened, the intentions of the other party are clarified, then some means of trust are built, and the leaders only bless the agreement that is almost ready," said the Polish foreign minister.
US President Donald Trump, he added, has his own "personal style".
"But Ukrainians tell me that this creates hope for the acceleration of certain processes that they hope will lead to a lasting peace. So they are giving Donald Trump the credit of trust here," Sikorski said.

Following the talks in Saudi Arabia on 23-25 March, the US, Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ban on attacks on energy facilities, but this arrangement has had no practical effect. Russia continues to target Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will prepare evidence of Russia's violation of the energy ceasefire and provide it to the United States, expecting a response.

Online, conservatives wasted no time in calling for the woman, subsequently identified as Carmen Colado, a former U.S. Army intelligence analyst, to be dishonorably discharged or court-martialled for publicly criticizing the commander-in-chief's orders. Some argued that her actions constituted a violation of the U.S. military's Uniform Code of Military Justice and called for Article 15 to be invoked against her, which empowers a commanding officer to order nonjudicial punishments less severe than a court-martial. These might include restrictions on duty, extra duty, forfeiture of pay, and, in some cases, confinement; however, since Colado appears to have left the service, it is unlikely to apply. She describes herself on Instagram as the 'proud daughter of an illegal immigrant hero who saved my life' and posts photos of friends and family, poetry, pencil drawings, and even a short film she has directed. Her posts also include an inspirational quote from Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green, who was censured for interrupting President Trump's address to a joint session of Congress earlier this year, on the occasion of a Dallas protest march calling for immigration reform. 'To protect liberty and justice for all – to protect government of the people, by the people, for the people – to protect what this country has in its great and noble ideals, we have to do what is necessary,' Green's quote reads.

Netanyahu Under Pressure as Ultra-Orthodox Parties Threaten to Dissolve Parliament
Israel's opposition parties said they would bring a motion to dissolve Parliament to a vote on Wednesday, presenting the most serious challenge yet to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing government and raising the specter of early elections. If the motion passes, it is unlikely that the government will fall immediately. The parliamentary process before any final vote could take months, giving the prime minister time to shore up his increasingly fractious governing coalition or set his own agenda for a return to the ballot box. But it would deal a heavy blow to his political credibility. The opposition parties are exploiting a crisis within the governing coalition over the contentious, decades-old policy that exempts ultra-Orthodox men who are studying religion in seminaries from compulsory military service. Mr. Netanyahu's ultra-Orthodox coalition partners, the United Torah Judaism and Shas parties, have been locked in dispute with other members of the government over proposals to limit exemptions. The issue has taken on more urgency, and spurred growing public anger and scrutiny, since the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7, 2023, ignited Israel's war in Gaza. United Torah Judaism has threatened to vote with the opposition, saying that it cannot accept the principle of drafting seminary students. If Shas also votes with the opposition, it could provide the majority needed to dissolve Parliament. Mr. Netanyahu's coalition commands a majority of 68 seats in the 120-seat Knesset. Shas and United Torah Judaism hold 18 seats between them, giving them strong leverage. The split inside the coalition has given the main opposition parties a political opportunity to challenge the government. While they support the move to enlist ultra-Orthodox religious students, they say their priority is to bring down Mr. Netanyahu's government and force new elections. The government, which was formed in late 2022, is the most right-wing and religiously conservative in Israel's history. The next election would take place in October 2026 if it were to reach full term. If the motion is passed on Wednesday, the bill would need to go to a parliamentary committee for review before returning to the assembly for further votes, and Mr. Netanyahu and his political allies could stall that process for months. But analysts say that even preliminary approval to dissolve Parliament could further destabilize his government. 'The whole system would go into a different mode — election mode,' said Aviv Bushinsky, a political analyst and a former media adviser to Mr. Netanyahu. Losing a vote would indicate a lack of leadership on Mr. Netanyahu's part, he added, and an inability to control his coalition. Gabby Sobelman contributed reporting from Rehovot, Israel.
