Aimee Lou Wood reveals truth behind crying pictures after 'mean' SNL skit
Aimee Lou Wood has revealed the truth behind the pictures showing her crying after she criticised a Saturday Night Live sketch that mocked her.
The White Lotus star made an appearance at last night's Met Gala alongside her co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger, where she wore a black suit-inspired outfit by designer Priya Ahluwalia.
Last month, the US TV show SNL sparked backlash after comic Sarah Sherman played a spoof version of Aimee's White Lotus character with oversized prosthetic teeth, which the actress called 'mean and unfunny'.
While it was claimed that SNL didn't formally apologise to Aimee, Sarah made the gesture of sending her flowers following the widespread criticism.
In the weeks after the sketch originally aired, Aimee was spotted crying in London with her friend, prompting fans to speculate if the skit had been the cause of her tears at the time.
However, she has now set the record straight to shut down the speculation.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Met Gala about the response to the SNL skit, she said: 'It all got very out of control… my whole thinking was I could either say something because I saw it and people were angry about it… and have it be said, and I won't spiral inwardly, and feel terrible about myself.'
The sketch – which is titled The White Potus and replaces the main characters with Donald Trump and his inner circle – was a spoof of Mike White's drama.
Aimee played Chelsea in the third series, who's in a complicated relationship with Rick, played by Walton Goggins, who is rumoured to have been in a 'feud' with his on-screen love interest.
The 31-year-old also claimed that her criticism of the sketch was 'really simple and balanced'.
She added: 'I wasn't crying about the SNL skit, I was crying about something completely unrelated, but it all got quite out of control,' she said about the pictures of her crying.
Aimee then addressed the fact that Walton, 53, is set to host SNL, saying that he's going to be 'incredible'.
'It's the perfect thing for him to do, he's going to be hilarious, I'm so excited,' she stated.
Aimee also explained how she 'loved' working with Walton, describing their experience as the 'best thing ever' despite rumours that the two co-stars had drifted apart after the series aired. More Trending
She added that she would consider appearing on SNL in future, but not when Walton hosts later this month.
In a recent interview with GQ, Aimee opened up about the interest in her teeth, noting that it made her 'sad'.
'The whole conversation is just about my teeth, and it makes me a bit sad because I'm not getting to talk about my work. They think it's nice because they're not criticising,' she said.
'And, I have to go there… I don't know if it was a man, would we be talking about it this much? It's still going on about a woman's appearance.'

Glen Powell's ex left 'shattered' after Sydney Sweeney romance claims
Model Gigi Paris has spoke out about the breakdown of a high profile relationship as she split from actor Glen Powell amid rumours of a romance with co-star Sydney Sweeney Gigi Paris has revealed exactly what her ex-boyfriend told her amid rumours he was having an affair with a co-star. The model did not explicitly name her ex when making the claims, yet she was in a high-profile romance with actor Glen Powell for over three years before splitting in 2023. Around the same time as Gigi, 32, and Glen's split, he was promoting his romantic comedy Anyone But You with Sydney Sweeney and was bombarded with on-set romance rumours. The pair seemed to play into the speculation as they promoted the film, with Glen, 36, admitting the tactic "worked wonderfully". Fans quickly noticed their intense chemistry, with many pointing out how touchy and flirty they were during interviews. However, Sydney later shut down the speculation while hosting Saturday Night Live, calling the online rumours "disorienting and unfair." Despite Sydney playing off any connection with Glen, Gigi has spoke about how she coped with intense rumours about a past relationship that is understood to refer to Glen. She admitted to being "blindsided" and "shattered" when claims about her boyfriend hit the headlines. Gigi spoke of an A-list ex, who she did not name, that allegedly brushed off her concerns and told her: "This is what I have to do for my job." She added on the Too Much podcast: "I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder: 'Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she okay with this? What the f***?' "Or stand up for myself and say: 'No, I'm actually not okay with this, and I'm walking away.' So that's what I decided to do." Gigi insisted: "It wasn't a way to monetise the breakup. It wasn't a way to twist the story around. I was shattered, shattered. "I just wanted respect. Especially if it's gonna be public, like don't make an a** out of me. Just don't make a fool out of someone you've been with for over three years, talking about forever with. Just have some decency, you know?" The model said the situation was "handled" wrongly and left her feeling "like I was just fed to the dogs" as the publicity stunt unfolded. Gigi revealed her reason for leaving the relationship and added: "I just hit a threshold of what I could take, and I was just so disappointed and that was that." Gigi hinted at the split from Glen in 2023 in a post on social media that read: "Know your worth & onto the next," in an apparent dig at her actor ex. Following the split, Glen gave Sydney "all the credit" for using the affair rumours to promote their movie. "I don't have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she's very smart. She's very smart," he said at the time. He added to Business Insider that "the only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour." Glen said: "I was with someone that I really loved and cared about and was trying to kind of make sense of a lot of stuff." The Top Gun star claimed it was "easier" for Sydney as she was "in a very committed and wonderful relationship". Sydney confessed to being "on every call" that involved promoting the film as she said: "I wanted to make sure that we were actively having a conversation with the audience as we were promoting this film, because at the end of the day, they're the ones who created the entire narrative." The actress has finally confirmed this month that she is now single following rumours of the breakdown of her engagement to Jonathan Davino. Confirming her single status, Sydney told The Sunday Times: 'I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it.' Sydney was with Jonathan for seven years, with the pair planning to get married in May. Their wedding was called off and according to Page Six, the split came as she was "extremely busy" with her acting career which brought new added "tension" to their relationship. The Mirror has contacted Glen and Sydney's representatives for comment.

Aimee Osbourne's new look as Ozzy and Sharon's daughter returns to spotlight
Aimee Osbourne is the eldest child of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, but she's always shunned the spotlight, unlike her famous sister Kelly and brother Jack Unlike her famous parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and siblings Kelly and Jack, Aimee has always maintained a low profile, shying away from the limelight. However, after unveiling a surprising new look recently, she seems to be gradually stepping into the public eye through her music career, echoing her father's rock 'n' roll roots. The Osbournes first hit our screens in 2002, introducing MTV audiences to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's kids, Kelly, 39, and Jack, 38. However, many fans were unaware that Celebrity Big Brother star Sharon and Black Sabbath legend Ozzy have a third offspring - Aimee, who is now 41. While her younger siblings basked in the limelight following The Osbournes' success, Aimee chose to avoid the public eye, leaving the family nest at 16 when they embarked on their reality TV journey. "I'm not some weirdo depressed daughter that's afraid of the world and locks herself in her room all day; I just didn't choose to do the show," Aimee has previously shared with US television. "I want to be a singer, and I felt if I'd stayed with the Osbournes and done the whole thing I would have been typecast right away. [Mum] was hurt and we definitely had a tough time with disagreements. I'm more reserved and my private life is very important." Choosing to avoid the spotlight, Aimee moved out of the family home at just 16 when filming began, a decision that Sharon has since expressed regret over. Now, at 41, it seems Aimee is ready to share snippets of her life with the public, often using her Instagram platform to promote her latest music. Earlier this week, Aimee Osbourne was photographed leaving a hotel in Manchester alongside Wes Leavins from the band Bridgette Calls Me Baby, who are currently on a UK tour - sparking rumours of a new romance for the Osbourne nepo baby. Last year, Aimee marked a significant career milestone with an emotional Instagram post, sharing her experience of recording at the iconic Abbey Road Studios for the first time. Encouraging her followers to 'keep going' during challenging times, she reflected on a year filled with 'heartbreak and twists and turns'. Recording under the moniker ARO, Aimee released her latest single, Siren, in collaboration with Fjora Music in November 2024. Her debut single, Raining Gold, was released back in 2015. Aimee has previously openly admitted that she would have preferred to stay at home a bit longer, with mum Sharon confessing that it broke her heart when her eldest left. "She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea - it was appalling to her," Sharon revealed on The Talk in 2018. "And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved." While Aimee's musical aspirations remain strong, her relationship with sister Kelly has unfortunately faded over time. In a 2021 interview, Kelly confirmed that she and Aimee are estranged and no longer in contact. "We don't talk," Kelly revealed to Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast. "We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her." These remarks from Kelly come after Aimee confessed in 2015 that she and her younger sister weren't exactly close. Speaking to The Independent, Aimee admitted: "I wouldn't say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance. Do we socialise? No."

A-list heartthrob new favourite to play next Bond villain
Fans are rejoicing as Pedro Pascal has emerged as the frontrunner to portray the next James Bond villain. The Last of Us and Gladiator 2 star is now the 4/1 favourite, narrowly edging out Cillian Murphy, who trails closely at 5/1, according to online bookmaker Betway. Skyrocketing to fame in the last few years, Pascal's recent run of roles has catapulted him into the global spotlight, making him a tantalising candidate for 007's next adversary. Betway now considers him the most likely star to take on the role, with fans sure to flock to cinemas for a chance to see Pascal's take on a Bond bad guy. 'Pedro Pascal's star power has skyrocketed in recent years,' said Betway spokesperson Mike Reading. 'He's built a global following thanks to standout performances in The Last of Us, Gladiator 2, and even hosting SNL. He is now the 4/1 favourite to take up the mantle of villain in the next James Bond film.' But the odds are growing steeper for the rest of the field. Giancarlo Esposito and Barry Keoghan are both currently sitting at 6/1, while Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron (the highest-ranked female candidate) is listed at 10/1. Further down the list are Stephen Graham, Saoirse Ronan, and Woody Harrelson, each with 16/1 odds. Graham's name has gained traction recently, thanks to his gritty turn in Adolescence, a performance Betway suggests could bring 'a bold new flavour' to the franchise. The next Bond film, now under the full creative control of Amazon MGM, is still in early development, with no confirmed casting announcements. More Trending Fans are also continuing to speculate about who will take on the role of 007 opposite whoever ends up as the newest Bond Villain (fingers crossed it will be Pascal). Six years after Daniel Craig announced his retirement from the franchise, it appears we are no closer to unveiling the next 007. Former favourite Idris Elba, 52, previously ruled himself out from playing the British spy, while other hotly tipped actors, including James Norton and Theo James, have remained coy. The current front-runner to become Bond is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, while bookies' Ladbrokes have also given preferential odds to the likes of Henry Cavill, Jack Lowden and Tom Hardy. Got a story?
