To that point, Sherman was also asked about working on SNL and if she needs to consider the fact that she could be 'upsetting people' more. In response, she said: Totally. The show is in constant dialogue with culture as it's happening, and it happens really fast. [Long pause] You have to be vigilant, you know what I mean? There are a lot of things out of your control. You're playing a lot of different parts, you're doing a lot of different roles that you're not in control of. A lot of the process of the show has been, to me—how am I answering this? [Pause] Staying vigilant but also being a part of the show—that is your job. Generate Key Takeaways Aimee Lou Wood was not laughing at a Saturday Night Live sketch that parodied her looks. The White Lotus star had two words to describe an April 12 SNL sketch titled 'The White Potus': 'Mean' and 'unfunny.' Wood, 31, posted to her Instagram story hours after the sketch aired on the NBC late-night comedy series. 'I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,' Wood wrote, before teasing that she might delete her remark later. The British actress called out Sherman's "Mancunian' accent in the sketch, writing, 'At least get the accent right seriously, I respect accuracy even if it's mean.' Wood also noted that HBO, the home of The White Lotus, always treated her with respect. 'So, to conclude today's rant: @hbo – kind and supportive and never wronged me so leave them alone. @nbcsnl – mean,' she wrote. In this sketch, the cast parodied the Thailand-themed White Lotus season for a sketch that also poked fun at Wood's character, Chelsea. Sherman wore fake buck teeth for the role and flashed her exaggerated choppers at one point. Wood later confirmed that she did hear from someone at SNL who offered her "apologies" for the mean-spirited impersonation. Wood's unique teeth were a hot topic as The White Lotus season 3 aired on HBO. Wood previously told Stylist she worried about finding work as an actress because she wasn't conventional-looking enough.' Once she landed The White Lotus role, she told The Jonathan Ross Show that she couldn't believe the positive 'impact' that her teeth had on American viewers. 'A real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever,' she said. "Now people are clapping in an audience because I've got these gnashers.' Walton Goggins Tries to Guess Who Will Die in ‘SNL' Season Finale, Says Emil Wakim Is a ‘Dead Man Walking'
Walton Goggins Tries to Guess Who Will Die in 'SNL' Season Finale, Says Emil Wakim Is a 'Dead Man Walking' | Video In a promo for this week's 'Saturday Night Live' featuring Walton Goggins as host, the 'White Lotus' star tries to guess who will be killed in the season finale — no matter how many times Marcello Hernández tries to tell him it's not that kind of show. 'I'm super curious to see how the whole thing's going to end,' Goggins tells Hernández, explaining in a dramatic stage whisper, 'Who's gonna die?' Goggins is of course nodding to the suspense drummed up each season of 'The White Lotus,' which opens with a dramatic death and shows throughout the ensuing episodes who died and how. In Season 3, the actor played revenge-obsessed Rick Hatchett. While Hernández insists that 'SNL' doesn't kill anyone in their own season finale, Goggins gamely nods along, then says of a passing Emil Wakim that he's a 'dead man walking.' He also shares the theory that Colin Jost and Michael Che would die in an act of murder-suicide. ADVERTISEMENT Watch the promo bit below: 'No one is dying,' Hernández argues — to which Goggins replies, 'That's exactly what someone's who's about to die would say.' He then guesses that Hernández will be killed by Heidi Gardner or Chloe Fineman, before slapping himself on the forehead and exclaiming, 'Oh my god, I know who it is. It's Bowen. It's always been Bowen! Because he hates you.' When, as Goggins predicted, Hernández is suddenly stabbed in the back, the killer is revealed to be Michael Longfellow. 'I should have been Domingo,' he says, referring to the popular viral character. Earlier this season, 'SNL' spoofed Mike White's award-winning HBO series with 'The White Potus,' in which a melancholy Donald Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) ponders suicide just like Jason Isaacs' character did for most of Season 3. ADVERTISEMENT Goggins makes his hosting debut on Saturday, with Arcade Fire as musical guests. Aimee Lou Wood reveals truth behind crying pictures after 'mean' SNL skit
Aimee Lou Wood has revealed the truth behind the pictures showing her crying after she criticised a Saturday Night Live sketch that mocked her. The White Lotus star made an appearance at last night's Met Gala alongside her co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger, where she wore a black suit-inspired outfit by designer Priya Ahluwalia. Last month, the US TV show SNL sparked backlash after comic Sarah Sherman played a spoof version of Aimee's White Lotus character with oversized prosthetic teeth, which the actress called 'mean and unfunny'. While it was claimed that SNL didn't formally apologise to Aimee, Sarah made the gesture of sending her flowers following the widespread criticism. In the weeks after the sketch originally aired, Aimee was spotted crying in London with her friend, prompting fans to speculate if the skit had been the cause of her tears at the time. However, she has now set the record straight to shut down the speculation. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Met Gala about the response to the SNL skit, she said: 'It all got very out of control… my whole thinking was I could either say something because I saw it and people were angry about it… and have it be said, and I won't spiral inwardly, and feel terrible about myself.' The sketch – which is titled The White Potus and replaces the main characters with Donald Trump and his inner circle – was a spoof of Mike White's drama. Aimee played Chelsea in the third series, who's in a complicated relationship with Rick, played by Walton Goggins, who is rumoured to have been in a 'feud' with his on-screen love interest. The 31-year-old also claimed that her criticism of the sketch was 'really simple and balanced'. She added: 'I wasn't crying about the SNL skit, I was crying about something completely unrelated, but it all got quite out of control,' she said about the pictures of her crying. Aimee then addressed the fact that Walton, 53, is set to host SNL, saying that he's going to be 'incredible'. 'It's the perfect thing for him to do, he's going to be hilarious, I'm so excited,' she stated. Aimee also explained how she 'loved' working with Walton, describing their experience as the 'best thing ever' despite rumours that the two co-stars had drifted apart after the series aired. More Trending She added that she would consider appearing on SNL in future, but not when Walton hosts later this month. In a recent interview with GQ, Aimee opened up about the interest in her teeth, noting that it made her 'sad'. 'The whole conversation is just about my teeth, and it makes me a bit sad because I'm not getting to talk about my work. They think it's nice because they're not criticising,' she said. 'And, I have to go there… I don't know if it was a man, would we be talking about it this much? It's still going on about a woman's appearance.' Got a story?
