Sports betting roundup: Betting favorite Mexico beats US in Gold Cup soccer final
The betting favorites won the CONCACAF Gold Cup on a holiday weekend with plenty of baseball action.
The Mexican national soccer team beat the United States 2-1 in the final on Sunday night in Houston. Mexico went into the match favored at +150 at the BetMGM online sportsbook, while the American team was +210. A tie was listed at +185.

Tigers ace pitcher Tarik Skubal's over 7.5 strikeouts was the most-bet prop of the day. It easily cashed with Skubal striking out 10 Guardians hitters.
Shane van Gisbergen won the NASCAR race in Chicago. He was the favorite (+125) and took in the most money (33%). Upset of the Week
Brian Campbell won for the second time on the PGA Tour this season, taking the John Deere Classic in a playoff over Emiliano Grillo. Both players finished at 18 under, and Campbell made par on the first playoff hole to secure the victory. In pretournament betting, Campbell was +35000 to win. Coming Up
The Los Angeles Dodgers remain the favorites to win the World Series. They are +210 after opening at +400. The New York Yankees are the next closest team at +700, after opening at +800.
After winning eight games in a row, the Toronto Blue Jays are now +1900. They opened +6000 and were +3500 at the start of last week.

Now they're in sight of becoming an unlikely major winner in their adopted sport. No. 6-ranked Minjee Lee, the recent winner of the Women's PGA Championship, shot 66 and was a stroke off the co-leaders in her bid to become the first woman since Inbee Park in 2013 to capture back-to-back major titles. No. 2-ranked Jeeno Thitikul (67), who has yet to win a major, was tied on 10 under with Lee, along with second-round leader Somi Lee (71) and Grace Kim (70). They'll all be applying pressure on Gainer and Ruffels, who have kept a keen eye on the Wimbledon tennis championships taking place this week and finished their third rounds just before the start of the women's singles final between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek. Associated Press LONDON (AP) — Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool became the first all-British pair in 89 years to win the men's Wimbledon doubles title by defeating Rinky Hijikata and David Pel 6-2, 7-6 (3) Saturday on Centre Court. They are the first all-British winners of the title since Pat Hughes and Raymond Tuckey in 1936. 'When you say it, it sounds incredible,' Glasspool said when that year was cited in an on-court interview. It makes for a perfect grass-court season for the pair, who also won the titles at Queen's and Eastbourne in the run-up to Wimbledon. Those performances had raised expectations on the fifth-seeded duo going into Wimbledon, and they lived up to the hype. 'There was a lot of pressure on our shoulders,' Cash said, 'and the fact that we've been able to do what everyone has been talking about is surreal.' It was the first Grand Slam final for Cash and Glasspool. Hijikata was looking for a second Grand Slam doubles title after the Australian won the 2023 Australian Open together with Jason Kubler. Kate, Princess of Wales, arrives at Wimbledon to present women's singles trophy
Associated Press LONDON (AP) — Kate, the Princess of Wales, arrived at the All England Club on Saturday and was set to present the trophy to the winner of the women's singles final at Wimbledon, after not attending the match last year while she was recovering from cancer. The All England Club said Kate, the wife of Prince William, would sit in the Royal Box on Centre Court for the final between eighth-seeded Iga Swiatek and No. 13 Amanda Anisimova. Kate was scheduled to then take part in the on-court trophy presentation. Kate has been the patron of the All England Club since 2016 and has regularly attended the men's and women's finals. However, she was not there when Barbora Krejcikova defeated Jasmine Paolini for the women's title last year. She did hand the trophy to Carlos Alcaraz after his victory over Novak Djokovic in the men's final, when she made only her second public appearance since announcing she was diagnosed with cancer.
