Urgent search for rugby star who vanished on Friday as wife makes social media plea
An urgent search is under way for rugby league star Brandon Moore, who has not been seen since Friday. The 28-year-old hooker plays for Batley Bulldogs player.
Originally from Maryport in Cumbria but now living in Castleford, West Yorkshire, he disappeared yesterday, leaving his devastated family desperate for answers.
His wife Mara issued a heartbreaking plea on social media as concern grows for the dad-of-three. On Facebook, she wrote: "If anyone has seen Brandon Moore can you please message me?"
"I usually wouldn't ever post anything on here like this, but family and friends haven't seen or heard of him and hoping maybe someone's seen sightings of him and can message me?
"I have a 7 week old baby at home and 2 others so I can't go hunting myself other than a car ride. Police contacted. Been missing approx 14 hours now. Thank you."
At the time of writing, the desperate post has been shared over 2,400 times, while there are 55 comments from concerned followers.

Moore was supposed to be at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium for Batley's Championship match against table-topping French club Toulouse Olympique on Saturday.
The hooker was named in the squad, but did not show up for the match, which the home side, who sit 11th in the Championship, ended up losing 30-14.
He joined the club last year after spending eight years at Halifax Panthers, captaining them to an 1895 Cup final win in 2023. Moore previously spoke of his connection with Halifax.
He told Yorkshire Live: "Along the years I've met some top blokes who've made my time at the club and I've made some special bonds that are life long.
"Even though I'm not a Halifax lad, I always knew how much rugby league meant to the town and it was always an honour to captain the side."

Record View: We all deserve to be safe at work
Today's Record View looks at the rise in workplace deaths in Scotland. We all deserve to be safe at work never in doubt. But Scotland has experienced a spike in recent years of workplace deaths. And now a new report has shown that Scotland has more of these tragedies than any other part of the UK. The rise means there is now nearly one death for every 100,000 workers. Among those victims was Clive Hendry, 58, who was crushed between a boat and a floating pontoon at the Highland fish farm where he worked. Speaking about the new figures, his wife has revealed the heartbreak of losing her husband at work - where he should have been protected. Her story - and all of those workplace fatalities - should be a wake-up call to employers and politicians. All of these deaths were avoidable and with the right measures in place we should be able to eradicate such accidents. Unfortunately under the Tories workers rights were eroded - with health and safety seen as nothing more than 'red tape' getting in the way of making money. Thankfully, one of Labour's first jobs in government was bringing in a new Workers' Rights Bill - which will give added protections to millions of employees. Sadly that bill is not yet law, and will not take effect on the ground until next year at the earliest. Until it comes in, we have to hope that companies will recognise that improvements are needed to keep Scotland's workforce safe. Those that fail to look after the safety of their employees should be dragged through the courts. Maybe the threat of jail time will be enough to make bosses realise that life is more precious than profit. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! FM's indy gamble John Swinney's new strategy to bring about an independence referendum, revealed in Monday's Daily Record, has sparked lively debate. The First Minister has said the trigger for a second referendum can only be the SNP winning an outright majority of seats at next year's Holyrood election. He has raised the bar compared to Nicola Sturgeon, who said a pro-indy majority of SNP and other parties would be enough. Now Dennis Canavan, a prominent independence supporter, has warned that the strategy is high risk. He points out that a majority has only been achieved once since the Scottish Parliament came into being and that was in the heyday of Alex Salmond. Canavan has a point and it seems highly unlikely that after 19 years in government the SNP will repeat Salmond's success. Swinney certainly cannot be accused of lacking ambition. But in aiming high for his party, the First Minister may have taken independence off the table for many years to come.

Young boy sexually assaulted at Scots campsite as suspect 'fled the area'
An eight-year-old boy was attacked while in his tent just yards from where his family had set up camp. Cops have launched a major manhunt after a predator sexually assaulted a young boy at a Scots campsite before they fled the area. An eight-year-old boy was preyed on whilst in his tent just yards from where his family had camped up. The sickening attack happened between 12.20am and 1am on Thursday morning at Loch Ness Bay Campsite, Drumnadrochit. A man approached the child within his tent. Police say he sexually assaulted the boy before leaving the area. The horror incident happened whilst the boy was on a camping trip with his family. Specialist officers have been drafted in to support the boy and traumatised loved ones. Detectives are now desperately trying to trace the male suspect who they have described as a white man, aged between 35-50-years-old. He is around 5ft 10ins tall and bald. Officers swarmed the popular campsite today as they promised extra patrols in an attempt to reassure the local community. CID have been pouring through CCTV footage and say they are carrying out enquiries in the local area. Senior detectives have appealed to campers for help and asked anyone who saw something suspicious to get in touch. They have described their investigation as "significant" into what they say will be a "worrying and upsetting" incident for residents. A full statement from Police Scotland reads: "Detectives are appealing for information in connection with the sexual assault of an eight-year-old boy in Drumnadrochit. "Between 12.20am and 1am on Thursday, 31, July, 2025, a man approached the child within his tent at the Loch Ness Bay Campsite. His family were in an adjacent tent. "He sexually assaulted the boy before leaving the area. "The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 35 to 50-years-old, around 5ft 10ins tall, and bald. "Extensive enquiries are ongoing, and specialist officers are supporting the boy and his family. Detective Inspector Christopher Macleod said: 'This sexual assault was carried out on a young boy, who was camping overnight with his family and it is vital we trace the man responsible as soon as possible. "A dedicated team of officers are carrying out investigations, including carrying out enquiries in the local area and reviewing all available CCTV footage. "I would urge anyone who was staying in the Drumnadrochit area to come forward, as any piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant you think it is, could prove vital. "Please think back - do you recognise anyone who matches the description of the suspect? "Or did you see anyone behaving in a strange manner, giving cause for concern, or loitering in the area?
