These Wings Are ‘Finger-Lickin' Fabulous'
With all due respect to steak and lobster, I think the best surf 'n' turf combination is chicken and anchovies. It's an opposites-attract situation: The chicken is large and plump with a soft-spoken umami; it says: 'How nice to meet you. I'm looking forward to working together.' Anchovies, scrawny and electric with salty savoriness, kick in the door, press play on the boombox and say: 'I'm here. Let's do this.'
You can see this partnership at work in top-rated New York Times Cooking recipes. The Anchovy Queen Melissa Clark has her garlicky chicken with lemon-anchovy sauce and Green Goddess roasted chicken (there are a couple of anchovy fillets in the Green Goddess dressing to give that fresh, herby concoction some oomph). Anchovies also appear in the form of fish sauce in Sheree Sarabhaya's kai yang and Kris Yenbamroong's pad krapow gai, both recipes adapted by Alexa Weibel. And, of course, there's Eric Kim's roasted chicken with fish-sauce butter, one of the loveliest chicken dinners you can pull together in under an hour.
But I have my eye on Rio's spicy chicken wings, which get their name from the chef Rio Irie and punchy red yuzu kosho. (If you can't find red yuzu kosho, notes Melissa, the recipe's adapter, you can substitute some hot sauce or chile powder mixed with lemon juice and zest.) There's fish sauce in both the marinade and the glaze, along with soy sauce and mirin for that perfect funky-salty-sweet balance. Make these wings for your Super Bowl party or, as I plan to do, for dinner with rice, an easy cucumber salad and an icy Sapporo.

You've scrolled through this curated collection of 12 of our best Super Bowl recipes, yes? There are more great 'good for a party but also good for dinner' options in there, like Melissa's vegetarian tamale pie, Kay Chun's Korean BBQ-style meatballs and Genevieve Ko's easy, smoky pulled pork. To go with the pulled pork: Andy Baraghani's pickle biscuits, which are so tender thanks to the acidity of the pickle brine.
It might also be fun to lean into the New Orleans of it all and make Paul Prudhomme's hearty, rich chicken and sausage gumbo. Vallery Lomas has an excellent vegetarian gumbo, too, bolstered with roasted sliced okra and thickened with red lentils. Mark Bittman's recipe for New Orleans BBQ shrimp actually has nothing to do with grilling (I can hear all the snowy-clime readers sighing in relief); the shrimp get their BBQ-ness from Worcestershire sauce and lots of black pepper. And speaking of snowfall: Ready the powdered sugar for Kay's beignets.
Lastly — you'll notice I'm burying this at the bottom — I'd be remiss if I didn't sneak in a 'Go Birds.' (I did live in Philadelphia for five years, and the Chiefs are the favorites, so.) I'll leave Kia Damon's Philly cheesesteak right here; it's up to you to serve them 'wit Whiz' or without.

Chiefs' Travis Kelce Mom Lands Major Spot On Reality TV Show
Chiefs' Travis Kelce Mom Lands Major Spot On Reality TV Show originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has taken much of the family spotlight this offseason. His relationship with pop music princess Taylor Swift continues to capture the hearts of the many while the build-up to his farewell tour increases by the day. Kelce will retire from the NFL after this season. He, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of Chiefs Kingdom hope to pull out one more run to the Super Bowl. When that time ultimately comes for him to move on from the game, don't expect the Kelce family to go away from the public eye. Travis and his brother, Jason, co-host the "New Heights" podcast which has been quite successful. Even the family's matriarch Donna Kelce has found her way into the spotlight. In fact, she had a major announcement this week that will be sure to provide more Kelce content. Both Donna and Jason will participate in season four of the reality TV series "The Traitors." She made her announcement official with a post on Instagram captioned, "Sundays were just the beginning. I raised the two playmakers, but now it's mamas turn." The show will begin streaming on Peacock and has begun filming in Scotland. Donna and Jason will be joined by a number of reality TV stars from other programs along with a group of celebrities including Michael Rapoport and Tara Lipinksi. "The Traitors" splits contestants up into two categories of "Faithfuls" and "Traitors." The cast must decipher which among them are the "Traitors," picking a player each night to "murder." While Donna and Jason embark on this exciting new venture, Travis remains at home preparing for his final season. The next step on that journey comes next week when the Chiefs get started with their mandatory minicamp on June 17. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 13, 2025, where it first appeared.

Kanye West ‘wants to attend Sean ‘Diddy' Combs' criminal trial
Kanye West reportedly wants to attend Sean 'Diddy' Combs' criminal trial in New York to publicly support the embattled music mogul. The 47-year-old rapper, who now goes by Ye, is currently in New York City, though he was not present at this week's court proceedings, but a source has told CNN he has been communicating with 26-year-old Christian 'King' Combs, one of Combs' sons, about possibly joining the family in court once the defence begins presenting their case. An insider 'close to Combs' told the network: 'Ye has been in touch with Christian and would like to attend the trial with the family to show his support.' Combs' federal trial, which includes serious charges against the 55-year-old such as sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution, has so far featured appearances in court from several members of Combs' family, including his sons. Prosecutors are expected to conclude their case next week, paving the way for the defence to begin calling witnesses – a point at which Kanye may make an appearance. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all allegations of misconduct. More than 60 civil suits have also been filed against Combs alleging sexual assault or other abuses on top of his criminal trial. The source also confirmed to CNN Christian and Kanye are currently collaborating on new music. They previously worked together on a track released in March, which included audio of a jailhouse phone call between West and Combs. The track also featured vocals from Kanye's daughter with Kim Kardashian. Scandal-plagued Kanye, who has been widely criticised in recent years for repeated antisemitic remarks and inflammatory behaviour, is one of the few public figures to voice support for Combs. Ahead of his fellow rapper's trial, he posted messages on social media advocating for Combs' release. In February, West sparked further backlash after he promoted and sold T-shirts emblazoned with swastikas — an incident he publicised in a Super Bowl advertisement. Neither Combs nor Christian responded to CNN's request for comment.

Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld share wedding photos: 4 things we learned about nuptials
Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld share wedding photos: 4 things we learned about nuptials Show Caption Hide Caption Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld marry in California Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and acclaimed actress Hailee Steinfeld officially married one another in California. unbranded - Sport Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen showed up to training camp with a new ring on his ringer — not a Super Bowl ring, but a wedding band following his nuptials to 'Sinners' actress Hailee Steinfeld on May 31. "Got some hardware now, so good to go," Allen said at the Bills' mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. The couple, who went Instagram official in July 2024 after a year of speculation, is notoriously private about their relationship, so not many details about their Santa Barbara, California wedding have been shared, until now. Steinfeld offered fans an inside look into their big day by sharing memories and photos they "can't stop thinking about" in the latest issue of her "Beau Society" newsletter. "As you know, I'm always somewhere in between wanting to share every detail and wanting to keep them close to my heart," Steinfeld wrote on Friday. "But Beau Society felt like the right place to share some of the love and magic that made up our wedding weekend." Here are four things we learned about Allen and Steinfeld's wedding: Breakfast for two with pancakes on the menu The bride and groom are traditionally separated from each other ahead of the wedding, but Allen and Steinfeld moved the goalposts and opted for an intimate breakfast with just the two of them. "On the morning of our wedding, Josh and I met for breakfast just before 7," Steinfeld wrote. "I'm so glad we did that. I don't think I could've gone the whole day without seeing him! We had a little spread, which included my favorite lemon ricotta pancakes." Josh Allen 'stunned' by Steinfeld's wedding dress Steinfeld walked down the aisle in a strapless ivory wedding dress designed and tailored by Tamara Ralph, which was "easily the most perfect gown I've ever put on my body," she said. Steinfeld accessorized her gown with a pair of long, sheer gloves, Mikimoto earrings and a sleek bun adorned with a French Chantilly lace veil. Steinfeld said she "stunned (Allen) when I got to the altar," but noted that her wedding day look almost didn't happen. "We were on the tightest timeline. Six weeks before the wedding, my mom and I flew to Paris straight from the 'Sinners' premiere in London for the fitting," she revealed. "I really had to lean into the whole 'trust the process' thing and thank God for Rob, Mariel, Tamara, and her team for pulling it all together in time. On our wedding day, when I put on this dress, I actually lost my breath. I've never felt more like myselfand more beautiful." Allen donned a Tom Ford tuxedo that he paired with a pleated shirt and black cufflinks. "Josh looked like the man of every dream I've ever had," Steinfeld gushed. As for the guests? Steinfeld said the dress code was "all-black black tie" to seamlessly match their "very classic and bold" theme. The wedding was also "a no-phone wedding," which was "one of the best decisions we made." They walked down the aisle to this classic song Steinfeld ditched a wedding bouquet and instead walked down the aisle with one single crystal rose. She was accompanied by her father Peter Steinfeld, which she called an emotional moment. "I'm very proud of us. It became a running joke that we'd be crying too hard to walk straight," she said. "I just remember the walkup looked like a façade. Josh was standing under this huge structure; it was the most surreal thing I'd ever seen." After Allen and Steinfeld said 'I do,' the newlyweds exited the altar to Stevie Wonder's 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)." They also got a round of applause, from the sky that is: "The coolest thing happened after we got married: We walked off the aisle ... and it started thundering. No rain, just thunder and lightning. Magical.' The bridal party jumped into the pool Allen and Steinfeld hosted an underground after-party to comply with sound ordinances in the area. The party was decked out with a cigar bar, Angel Margarita, grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies served with shot glasses of milk. The party didn't stop until around 3 a.m. and they ended it with a bang. The bridal party jumped into the pool (except Steinfeld, who was dressed in feathers) in their tuxedos and dresses.
