UAE launches Artificial Intelligence Academy with short programmes in multiple languages

UAE has launched the Artificial Intelligence Academy, an initiative that aims to develop a new generation of AI leaders.
The academy combines advanced research with real-world industry insights, strengthening the Middle East's position in global AI innovation.
The AI ​​Academy, launched by the Polynom Group in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi School of Management, offers a series of short programmes specifically designed for executives, senior government officials, and technical professionals.
These programmes will cover the fundamental concepts of AI, national AI strategies, generative AI tools, and executive-level applications that facilitate leaders' access to various sectors.
These short programmes will be available in multiple languages ​​and will form the basis for broader AI capacity building efforts.
The strategic partnership agreement was officially signed in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, during the annual professional AI summit, "The Machines Can See Summit."
Following the initial launch, the Academy will also launch the Chief AI Officer (CAIO) Program, a pioneering 3-4-month leadership programme designed to empower a new generation of AI decision-makers. Comprising eight advanced modules, the programme provides participants with a comprehensive foundation in AI strategies, governance, and deployment across multiple industries such as finance, healthcare, and public administration.
Participants will attend exclusive seminars led by leading scientists and global industry leaders, providing them with firsthand insight into the latest research and innovations in areas such as computer vision, large language models, sovereign AI, and AI ethics.
These sessions will foster fruitful dialogue and provide practical and strategic insights for those shaping the future of AI in the region.
The academy will also integrate NVIDIA's expertise and technologies into select programmes, contributing to the shared mission of accelerating AI readiness and real-world application across the region.
Alexander Khanin, founder of the Polynom Group, emphasised the group's commitment to bridging the gap between scientific discovery and commercial applications of artificial intelligence. He noted that through its collaboration with the Abu Dhabi School of Management and NVIDIA, the group is poised to deliver a unique educational experience that fosters innovation and responsible technical leadership.
Dr Tayeb Kamali, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi School of Management, emphasised that the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Academy, which focuses on providing leaders in the region with the tools and insights needed to harness the transformative potential of AI, reflects the ongoing commitment to innovation in management education and positions the UAE as a global center for leadership in AI in business.
He explained that the goal of this partnership is to empower the next generation of changemakers to lead future trends in a world increasingly dependent on technology and data.
The AI ​​Academy serves as a catalyst for collaborative research projects, networking opportunities, and startup incubation.

Strong and growing UAE–Philippines relationship In his opening speech, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak congratulated the Filipino community on this important national day and said, "I am delighted to be with you this evening to celebrate the 127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.""On behalf of the people of the United Arab Emirates, I extend our heartfelt congratulations and warmest greetings to the people of the Philippines here and around the world. This day marks not only your independence, but your enduring spirit of resilience, community, and optimism. It is a day of pride, and one you have every reason to celebrate, said His Excellency."He added that the UAE is pleased to call the Philippines a close friend and valued partner. "Across this nation, and across the decades, hundreds of thousands of Filipino people have made their mark. Your knowledge, skills, creativity, and compassion have enriched many sectors of our society – from healthcare and education to hospitality, finance, entrepreneurship, and the arts."His Excellency emphasised that "although our two countries may be separated by geography, we are united by shared values: openness, optimism, mutual respect, and a belief in the dignity of every individual."He noted that the UAE's success story is a shared story. Participants can submit entries in various formats—short stories, articles, Nabati and classical poetry, reflections, or letters, focusing on their connection to the UAE's cohesive community and national identity. This initiative aims to strengthen social bonds, promote cultural diversity, and foster pride in the UAE's unique qualities. Selected writings will be published and widely distributed, amplifying voices that embody the UAE's spirit of unity and coexistence, making it a meaningful contribution to community engagement and national pride. Full Day of Celebrations Also speaking at the event, Honourable Hans Cacdac, Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers of the Philippines, added, "Kalayaan not only commemorates our independence but also highlights the strong partnership that enables Filipinos to contribute meaningfully to both nations." Supported by The Philippine Business Council - Dubai and Northern Emirates, Dubai Police, and Dubai Immigration, the event was further distinguished by the attendance of His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai. The event also saw the attendance of Honourable Arvic V. For the third consecutive year, the event was sponsored by RTX, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to supporting STEM education and fostering innovation in the UAE and beyond. The hybrid annual event brought together exceptional undergraduate talent from around the world to present breakthrough research and creative solutions across 27 academic disciplines, including engineering, business, education, law, and health year's competition drew 650 research submissions from approximately 1,300 students representing 105 universities across 14 countries, reaffirming URIC's position as the largest undergraduate research platform in the GCC and MENA event celebrated a diverse range of pioneering projects, including innovations in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Sciences, Cybersecurity, Finance, Fintech, E-commerce, and Digital Marketing, Sustainable and Renewable Energy, highlighting the breadth and depth of innovation led by undergraduate Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, said: 'URIC continues to shine a spotlight on the ingenuity and research excellence of our youth. In 2024, URIC attracted nearly 600 research submissions spanning 27 disciplines, with participation from 1,400 students representing 78 universities across 16 countries in the MENA region and beyond.
