THE KITCHEN is often described as being the heart of the home, so it's no surprise that it's one of the first things people look at when they're buying a property.
Kitchens are often seen as the central hub for a bustling family - it's where people gather, meals are shared, and guests are entertained.

Not only is it a true hub for everyday living, but it can also set the tone for the entire home.
And since it plays a central role in both home design and functionality, it is likely to hold more sway in a buyer's decision than other rooms.
But did you know that your kitchen could also add a total of £19,226 to the value of your property?
An interior expert has now revealed that there is a specific colour and style combination that could quickly see the value of your home go up by thousands.
Property pros at More Kitchens looked at 140 homes across 14 major UK cities to find out what it is that buyers love about the kitchen.
And they found that when it comes to colour, charcoal grey kitchens were most loved by potential buyers.
Homes with this colour sold for on average £13,020 (around four per cent) over the asking price, and spent around 5.2 months on average on the market.
This deep grey tone offers a dramatic yet neutral base that offers both sophistication and versatility that homeowners love.
Its popularity likely stems from its ability to add depth, visual weight, and also adds a sense of neutrality to a kitchen, without overpowering the space.
Julie Gokce, Senior Designer at More Kitchens, says: 'It doesn't surprise me that Charcoal has ended up at the top.
We completely transformed our fake-wood, dated kitchen for less than £150 - there was ZERO sanding OR priming needed too
"It's been gaining far more popularity in recent years, and we've certainly seen an increase in customers opting for these types of shades.
"It's great because it appears to be fairly neutral at first glance, but it can still make a statement when contrasted with other 'standard' kitchen colours, like white and wood-tone."
As well as the top colour, the experts looked at the top kitchen styles that boost your house value in 2025.
And they found that the highest-performing kitchen trend is Cottagecore.
These types of kitchens celebrate the charm of rural living, with features like open shelving, natural textures, vintage-inspired fixtures, combined with soft, welcoming colours.
The cottagecore style evokes a sense of warmth and tradition, which appeals to many buyers.
And homes with this kitchen trend also spend an average of 5.2 months on the market before being sold, alongside an average £6,206 increase in the final selling price.
This means that a charcoal grey, Cottagecore kitchen could add a jaw-dropping £19,226 to the value of your home.
Julie Gokce added: 'I've noticed that homeowners are increasingly choosing to design cosy and inviting homes, places where you truly feel like you can relax.
"I think the Cottagecore trend perfectly encapsulates that.
"After years of ultra-minimalist interiors, people are turning towards these layered, personality-filled designs.
'I think it's partly been influenced by shows like Great British Bake Off, with its 'lived-in' and accessible kitchen (inside a tent) that features open shelving, lots of reclaimed wood, and that classic, natural charm.'

I played golf with Tiger Woods but he was a ghost behind the scenes – his romance with Vanessa Trump surprised me
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TIGER WOODS was a 'ghost' behind the scenes who never gave any clues about his wild lifestyle, according to a golfer who played with him. Two-time PGA Tour winner Brian Henninger also says he's surprised by Wood's blossoming romance with Vanessa Trump. The American says Woods would cut an isolated figure among golfers and was so focused he could be intimidating. But Henninger, who also described Faldo as 'arrogant' and branded Jack Nicklaus a 'narcissist', said this attitude set him apart. Henninger told SunSport: 'Tiger Woods is not a person you're going to go and hang out with. 'He's not eating with you in the lunchroom. He's pleasant though. He'd say 'Hi Brian'. He knows a little bit about everybody, he does his research. 'I'll never forget the first time I met him. We were at the Western Open, we're in this fitness trailer, they were stretching us or something. 'He goes 'hey, I saw your Trojans got beat by Stanford the other night'. I mean, I've never met him. 'So I think he's one of those prepared guys in any situation. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS 'Behind the scenes, he was a ghost to most of us. We didn't really know about his life off the course. 'But he didn't show signs on the golf course of being affected by any of it. 'Scottie Scheffler is coming along doing similar things. I don't know all the matrix behind it, but they are very close in terms of how many times they've won at a certain age and all the accomplishments. 'They can just turn it on and off. I mean, they get to the golf course and they're like different human beings." He added: 'Tiger could be intimidating to some extent. I played with him right at his peak in the early 2000s. 'It's so unique when you're with these people who are so different. They have skill sets beyond what you can kind of comprehend or define.' Woods was rocked by scandal in his prime, divorcing Swedish model Elin Nordegren in 2010 after allegations of multiple affairs. 11 Scottie Scheffler is the current world number one Credit: Getty 11 Henninger believes he is the best in the world Credit: Getty Then in 2017, Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving after he'd been found passed out in his car with prescription drugs and marijuana in his system. Now Woods is dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr, son of sitting US President Donald Trump. And Henninger says he's surprised by the romance but can see how it unfolded. He said: 'I was surprised to see Tiger dating Vanessa Trump. Even though in today's world, nothing surprises me anymore. 'But he lives in Florida, so I'm sure he's interacting with Donald Trump, who owns a few golf courses down there and stuff. 'Nothing surprises me with Tiger. I just kind of wish I knew. I like the drama, share it with us!' Henninger believes Scottie Scheffler is currently the best golfer in the world. He sees traits in the American he also saw among the greats he played with. In June, Nicklaus candidly told Scheffler not to get carried away with his recent success. 11 He said: 'If he is thinking about being the best and starts believing he's the best, pretty soon he starts scratching his ears out here like this, and that's death. Once you start to get a big head and believe you're too good, then you will get beat.' But Henninger could understand the comments. He branded Scheffler and Nicklaus as 'narcissistic', but hailed the trait as something vital for their success. Henninger added: 'Scheffler is different. I almost feel like he's playing for a different purpose, and he seems really balanced with his family, which is really important to him. 'He's made so much money in recent years yet he seems to be doing it for this focus on the process and the competition, not for the money, even though that's the byproduct of playing really well. 'They threw him in jail in the middle of a tournament last year, then he came out and shot 65, who does that? 'So he's got the resilience it takes to be number one in the world and takes responsibility for it. 'It takes a narcissistic person and Nicklaus is that person too, by the way, I've spent a little bit of time around him. These guys have big egos.' 11 Henninger has called Jack Nicklaus 'narcissistic' Credit: Getty 11 He also labelled Sir Nick Faldo as arrogant Credit: Getty Another golfer who had a big ego was Faldo, Henninger says, who now works as a commentator in golf. Henninger says Faldo was arrogant and recalled a time he demanded changes to his parking space. He said: 'Faldo is one of them, he's from over there (arrogant). He's intense, a lot of us are pretty uptight. 'To be honest with you, Greg Norman was super uptight, to the extent you don't really want to be around those people. 'He's one of the greatest players that ever lived. He's a big guy, he was very mechanical, so he had a really pretty swing. It was very methodical. But an example of Faldo's arrogance was when we were playing in the senior players' championship in Philadelphia five or six years ago. 'Because he's close to my last name, like F and H are close, he's parked right next to me and when I pull up early in the week, it says Sir Nick Faldo on his little sign by his car. 'It only took about 24 hours and it said, Sir Nick Faldo. That tells you the whole story."

Inside Jake Paul's fight diet for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr fight with favourite dinner and cheat meal revealed

And with him all the way was personal chef Eric Triliegi - who has worked with the likes of Conor McGregor and Ryan Garcia in the past. Triliegi - an expert in helping fighters cut weight through nutrition - has the job of making sure Paul is fuelled for 12 weeks of training. He told SunSport: "For someone like Jake or an athlete it's actually very simple. READ MORE IN boxing HEART-JAKE Jake Paul vows to send Chavez into retirement and goads 'I'll be there for you' "We want to make sure he's getting enough carbohydrates so he has enough glycogen storage in his muscles to be able to perform. "We gotta make sure he has enough fat so we can give him some of that good fat energy as well and then he has to have the right amount of protein so we keep him lean. "When we do the water load, we like to have him have more muscle mass because water and muscle cell combine, water and fat don't combine. "So I like to make sure that he's lean with muscle, got enough muscle so when the water load happens, it's doing the right things." CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS 5 Paul's favourite fight camp meal is chicken marsala - an Italian-American dish made of shallots, garlic and a wine sauce. He has up to four meals a day - breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks mixed in with smoothies between his sessions. Jake Paul vows to send Julio Cesar Chavez Jr into sad boxing retirement and goads 'I'll be there for you' And if Triliegi fancies treating Paul , he serves up a sweet treat - all still healthy, of course. He said: "Honestly, I'm not big on cheat meals but I will do a no-bake cheesecake, passion fruit cheesecake, things like that. "But I use all healthy ingredients." Paul's last fight was up at heavyweight in November when Mike Tyson controversially came out of retirement aged 58. He jumped up to 227lb (16st 2lb) before winning on points and now drops back down to the 200lb cruiserweight limit of 14st 4lb. And Triliegi said: "The last fight camp for Tyson we were having over 3,400 calories a day - maybe a little bit more. "We were gaining weight, so it was a lot easier. Now with this, he came in camp light around 215, so the weight cut's been real easy, real simple." Triliegi has to make sure Paul's calories are reduced as the fight edges closer and the weigh-in approaches. But the chef - who brought out his own book called Fight Food - even tracks the boxer's SLEEP to help him shed the unwanted pounds Triliegi said: "I monitor everything, his sleep cycle, light, deep, in REM, his training, rest blocks. "If everything is going smoothly, he can eat the food that he wants, he can eat when he wants. "But we just monitor a little bit of the portion control. But other than that, we're monitoring sleep, making sure he doesn't eat too late. "If you eat too late when you go to bed instead of resting, you're digesting so it's taking away from the purpose of sleep so we pretty much keep track of everything." 5 Jake Paul's chef Eric Triliegi even lives with the boxer

To apply for a council home, you need to fill out and hand in an application to your local authority. To find your local authority, simply use the Government's council locator tool on its website. Once you have access to your local council's website, it should offer you guidelines on how to complete your application. After applying, you'll most likely have to join a waiting list. Bear in mind, even if you are put on a waiting list, this doesn't guarantee you a council house offer. Your council should also offer you advice on how to stay in your current home and solve any issues you might have, such as problems with a private landlord or mortgage. You are eligible to apply for council housing if you are a British citizen living in the UK providing have not lived abroad recently. Each council has its own local rules about who qualifies to go on the housing register in its area, but it is based on "points" or a "banding" system. For example, you're likely to be offered housing first if you: are homeless live in cramped conditions have a medical condition made worse by your current home are seeking to escape domestic violence Once you are high enough on a council's waiting list, it will contact you when a property is available. Some councils let people apply at the age of 18, while others let you apply even sooner at 16-year-olds. EU workers and their families and refugees may also be eligible. A council house is reached through a points system, so depending on your housing needs, you may be considered low priority. The council will contact you about any available property once you are high enough on the waiting list. There is no limit on how long you can expect to be on the waiting list. Meanwhile, others were much more supportive, a fourth said: "Good idea, it's important to have some time alone before baby gets here, enjoy." "Looks perfect to me? I don't understand the big deal,' claimed a fifth Someone else added: "For 3 weeks crack on. Siblings sharing isn't going to affect them in any kind of way. Especially so young. It's not permanent and they're not in their teens!"
