'Naxals will face the consequences', Chhattisgarh CM after killing of ASP in IED blast in Sukma
Raipur, June 9 (UNI) Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akash Rao Giripunj in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites on Monday, in Konta area of Sukma district. The CM vowed that Naxalites will have to face the consequences of this "cowardly act".
Sai said, "It is extremely painful, and I pay homage to his sacrifice."
Sai added that some other officials and personnel were also injured in the attack and has directed for their proper treatment.
The Chief Minister asserted that security forces are engaged in a major battle against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh, and they are achieving continuous success.
"Frustrated by the actions of security forces, Naxalites are resorting to such cowardly acts, but they will have to face the consequences," he said.
Sai expressed deep condolences to the family of the martyred ASP and assured that the state government stands with them in this hour of grief, reaffirming that the day is not far when Naxalites will be eradicated from Chhattisgarh.

Odisha CM directs Kendrapara Administration to take strict action against Bangladeshi infiltrators
East Kendrapara, June 9 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has directed the Kendrapara district administration to take strict action against Bangladeshi infiltrators. The Chief Minister gave this direction while reviewing the various developmental work of the district during his visit on Monday Majhi also announced that appropriate action would be taken after receiving information about challenges like smuggling and law-and-order issues in the district. He said steps would soon be taken for the development of water resources and industries in the district. The mangrove forest in Kendrapara district would be further expanded, while eco-tourism would be accelerated in Bhitarkanika and Gahirmatha, the Chief Minister stated. Majhi also announced that new projects would be inaugurated in the district soon, including the establishment of a medical college in Kendrapara. The meeting also discussed the Parikrama project of the Sri Baladevjew Temple. Majhi said, 'Our goal is to make Kendrapara a model district in the coming days, with a focus on new projects like setting up industries, developing tourism, and promoting renewable energy.' Bangladesh's National Citizen Party hopes to be fully registered by June 15
Dhaka, June 9 (UNI) The National Citizen Party (NCP) – the official political unit of Bangladesh's Students Against Discrimination (SAD) which led toppled the Sheikh Hasina government in August last year– is hoping to complete its full registration as an official political party by June 15, a top leader said on Monday. "We hope to complete the registration application process by the 15th of this month, which is required for participating in elections," NCP's chief organiser Sarjis Alam said while speaking to reporters here. The 'students'' party, has already formed committees in 100 upazilas across around 22 districts and is working to establish offices as part of the registration requirements. "We are following official procedures and intend to complete registration within the time set for all political parties," he said. Prioritising to build itself from a grassroot level, the NCP leader said 'Once the structure is in place from the capital to the village level, we will be better prepared for electoral activities." Along with the Jamaat, the NCP supported the Chief Advisor Mohammed Yunus led interim government's announcement of elections in April 2026, much to the opposition of the nation's primary political group – the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) – which called the decision a "sham". While the party has repeatedly claimed to be a centrist non-religious party, its full support and cooperation with hardline Islamic groups like the Jamaat e Islami, and the Hefazat-e-Islam, and its opposition to the secular and pluralist tenets of Mujibism (the core principles of Bangladesh's constitution and political identity) have called into question the party's true ideological affiliations.
