Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch in India: How to watch live, what to expect from slimmest Galaxy S ever

India Today12-05-2025
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch day is here. In a few hours, Samsung will take the wraps off the phone – Galaxy S25 Edge – billed as the 'slimmest Galaxy S series' device ever. Samsung says it is 'beyond slim' meaning that while it is super slim, it has flagship-grade hardware. You see slim phones are not new but slim phones with top-notch specs, are. More details will be revealed shortly.advertisementSamsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch details The Galaxy S25 Edge is launching globally on May 13, 2025. The phone is launching simultaneously in India. The launch event will be streamed live on samsung.com and across Samsung channels such as YouTube. It starts at 5:30 AM sharp (IST). Samsung was supposed to have an India-specific event, too, later in the day but it was cancelled in the wake of India-Pakistan tensions. But be that as it may, we can expect Samsung to announce the India pricing and availability for the Galaxy S25 Edge alongside its global unveil. Be sure to stay tuned to India Today Tech for all the latest updates on Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge including our first impressions and full review.Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: What to expectAs we spoke about in our preview report, Samsung has been extremely choosey with the amount of information it has shared about the Galaxy S25 Edge leading into launch. This is obviously to build hype. The phone is part of the Galaxy S25 series and was first announced at its global unpacked event in January 2025. It is launching almost four months later. Even though it is claimed to be the slimmest Galaxy S phone ever, we don't know how thin and light it is for real. Samsung hasn't shared that information yet. All it has communicated is that the phone has top-tier premium build. The phone features a special type of glass called Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 which has been made in partnership with Corning. For specs, all we know for sure until now is that the Galaxy S25 Edge has a 200-megapixel primary camera sensor. There is one more camera in this phone, but we don't know its exact spec.
The S25 Edge is expected to come rocking the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip as the other Galaxy S25 models. The battery capacity is concerning if the leaks are anything to go by but who knows, maybe some meticulous optimization, Samsung is able to get the most out of what could be just 3,900mAh. The phone will be big on Galaxy AI features though it would be interesting to see if there are any new ones incoming. Positioning-wise, expect the Galaxy S25 Edge to fall between the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 leaked in hands-on images ahead of Unpacked Event 2025: What to expect

Samsung's upcoming foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, has been allegedly showcased in a fresh set of hands-on images just days before its expected unveiling at the Galaxy Unpacked event next week. The leak hints at the device's revamped design and suggests several previously rumoured specifications. The images, shared by tipster Jukan Choi on X, show the handset in what appears to be a Blue Shadow variant. They offer views of the front, rear, and side profiles, highlighting a refined design approach that departs slightly from its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Notably, the triple rear camera layout is retained but now lacks the distinct individual camera rings seen on the previous model, as per the images. A key visual takeaway is the seemingly crease-free inner foldable display, which appears to open fully without hinge resistance. The side profile reveals a slimmer design and a clearly visible SIM tray. If leaked dimensions are accurate, the device will measure just 8.9mm thick when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, down from the Galaxy Z Fold 6's 12.1mm and 5.6mm, respectively. The Fold 7 is expected to be available in multiple colour options including Jet Black, Silver Shadow, and Blue Shadow. Storage variants are likely to include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. In select European markets, prices for the 256GB and 512GB models are tipped to be EUR 2,227.71 (approximately ₹ 2,23,000) and EUR 2,309.03 (approximately ₹ 2,31,100). As per previous reports, the device may feature an aluminium frame paired with a glass ceramic back. The internal main display is expected to span 8 inches, with the cover screen measuring around 6.5 inches. Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. The official reveal is anticipated during Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event next week, where the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also expected to make its debut.

Zuckerberg paid $25 million, Musk dropped $10 million — now Trump sets sights on Google's Sundar Pichai

First, it was Mark Zuckerberg. Then Elon Musk. US President Donald Trump's next target could be Sundar Pichai . With multi-million-dollar settlements from Meta and X, Trump's legal team appears to be targeting YouTube's parent company. The pressure is increasing, and a settlement could be next. Why is Donald Trump going after Sundar Pichai now? Donald Trump is reportedly in settlement talks with Google CEO Sundar Pichai over a lawsuit stemming from YouTube's suspension of Trump's account. Following Donald Trump's victory last year, Google CEO Sundar Pichai made an effort to minimize the groveling among social media titans. Unlike Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, he did not appoint Dana White, the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and a personal buddy of the incoming president, to his board of directors or appear on podcasts endorsing the virtues of "masculine energy." He also did not openly express his straight-man "love" for Trump or go to work in the White House. Unlike Shou Zi Chew, the CEO of TikTok, Pichai never sent out a notification to all app users, thanking Trump for his efforts. Live Events Instead, there was the obligatory $1 million Google payment to Trump's inaugural fund, a quick trip to Mar-a-Lago, and the stoic appearance as a background prop during the ceremony in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol, as per a report by The Atlantic. ALSO READ: Home Depot hours 4th of July: Will stores be open what to know for 2025? In 2021, Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against Zuckerberg, Pichai, and the former CEO of Twitter, which Musk later acquired and rebranded as X, for limiting his accounts following the attack on the US Capitol on January 6. What's the lawsuit really about? The president claimed that the businesses and CEOs had violated his First Amendment rights by unlawfully censoring him at the behest of American political officials. It was a sarcastic statement from a politician who frequently uses threats from the government to settle political disputes. In their postelection courtships of Trump, Elon Musk contributed an additional $10 million after Zuckerberg settled his lawsuit with a $25 million payout, primarily to Trump's presidential library fund. Briefs filed in a federal court in San Francisco shortly after Memorial Day that seem to have gone unnoticed by the public indicate that attorneys for President Trump and Pichai have started "productive discussions" regarding the next steps of the case against YouTube, "with additional discussions anticipated in the near future." The parties have requested that the judge provide them till September 2 to agree on a course of action, as quoted in a report by The Atlantic. More than Trump's legal skills or the strength of his case, the fact that the negotiations are taking place at all speaks to his extraordinary use of presidential authority. The entire scenario is confusing, as President Trump has demonstrated that he can effectively utilize his elected office's authority to pressure private firms into paying civil lawsuits, even when the lawsuits are based on claims that the companies violated the law by giving in to pressure from politicians like him. Donald Trump has used his office to target political opponents' speech at law firms, universities, and uncooperative media outlets like the Associated Press, demonstrating the incoherence of his First Amendment stance. At the same time, he has condemned the notion that the government should ever attempt to censor the speech of his political allies. He brushes off the discrepancy when it is brought out. Will Google settle like Meta and X did? Sundar Pichai might potentially receive a favorable verdict if he decides to take Trump to court. If Google wins the case, it might lose more money than it would if it gave up and donated eight figures to Trump's presidential library. FAQs Is Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, expected to reach an agreement with Trump? Negotiations are currently underway, but no agreement has been reached. As with Zuckerberg and Musk, Pichai may face pressure to settle. What was Donald Trump's original lawsuit against big tech? Donald Trump sued several tech CEOs for allegedly censoring him after January 6, citing First Amendment violations.
