Next Tuesday's T-Mobile perks will include an impossibly awesome movie deal
When's the last time the T-Mobile Tuesdays program served up a reward that virtually anyone could enjoy without quibble, objection, or nostalgia for the good old days when the "Un-carrier" constantly overshadowed the competition with the greatest freebies and perks for the entire family? Yes, the summer's first blockbuster movie is opening on Friday, May 23, and on Tuesday, May 20, you can apparently score a $5 ticket to a showing near you. All "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" showings are eligible, mind you, including in IMAX, so depending on where you live and your day and time of choice, you're looking at some potentially very hefty discounts here. All you need to do to take advantage of this special offer is check the T-Mobile Tuesdays section of your (love-it-or-hate-it) T-Life app on May 20, save the deal, and then head over to Atom to book your discounted movie ticket.
That last step, of course, doesn't have to be completed on Tuesday, but just to be safe, you might as well do it all in one go. After all, the previous installment in the hugely successful Mission: Impossible franchise grossed close to $600 million around the world, and as its (sub) title suggests, "The Final Reckoning" is supposed to be the culmination of Tom Cruise's nearly three-decade-long efforts to save cinema... and flaunt his immortality. In other words, it may not be easy to find premiere-week tickets around you, let alone deeply discounted ones. Alongside this rare entertainment promotion, T-Mobile subscribers will be able to get a free Auntie Anne's original pretzel and $5 Qdoba discounts next Tuesday too, as well as the chance to win a new Motorola Razr foldable. Not great, not bad.

If you blinked during Apple's jam-packed WWDC 2025 keynote today, you probably missed the blazing fast rundown of the tech giant's latest music streaming features, so allow me to offer you a few details on what's coming. The coolest new Apple Music functionality is undoubtedly AutoMix, which uses AI (naturally) for a personal DJ experience, claiming to do time stretching and beat matching at the "perfect moment" to seamlessly switch from one song to the next. As nice as that sounds, of course, it might be wise to wait and see how the transitions work between vastly different genres before getting too excited. What you can probably get super-excited about without fearing the technology will not work as advertised are the Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation tools... that other streaming platforms have already integrated (with varying degrees of effectiveness). Something tells me Apple waited this long to improve your home karaoke performance to get these features just right, and in the (very) short clip used to hype them up, they definitely look as impressive as expected. Last but not necessarily least on today's list of announced Apple Music updates, "Music pins" will, well, allow you to pin playlists, albums, and artists at the top of your Library tab to gain easier access to the stuff you're most interested in, which... is likely to sound awfully familiar to YouTube Music devotees.

Apple's new gaming app covers all bases, but will you actually use it?
One of the more quirky announcements during Apple's WWDC event of 2025 was the new Games App. Why? Well, we already had a few for that, didn't we? Let me rewind a bit, though. I can't lie: Apple has achieved marvelous things these past few years in regards to gaming. Typically, I'm strictly an Android guy, but when I saw gems like Resident Evil 4 Remake or Village running on an iPhone during past livestreams… I was tempted .But hey, this means that Apple is already doing a ton about gaming on an iPhone! Console-quality games, natively available on iOS-powered devices? That's a feat of its own. So what more could gamers want? Well, this new app covers that ground. Sort of. Image by Apple The Games App — an official title, by the way — offers a launcher-esque experience, which rounds up your games. Once you launch it, you immediately see your recently played games, so you can jump back in easily. Alternatively, you can reach your favorites more quickly, for when you want to dive back into an experience dear and near to your heart. One of the things I can easily appreciate: quick links to Arcade and your general Games download history. I'm not even using an iPhone as a daily driver, and I already have tons of games! This would be a very useful way to quickly browse what I already have access to. It is 2025 and gaming has never been a more social experience, so of course: you'll be able to check in with your friends. Via the Games App, you'll be able to see what they've been playing recently and presumably: jump into an online game with them effortlessly. Then we've got challenges. Think Achievements, but Apple-scented. Apple will be letting devs get more creative with these in the future, so if you're a completionist: keep an eye out for more features in this category. Oh, this also means that Game Center is already connected. But does the Games App replace it? We're not sure, but I think that the answer is both "yes" and "no". Just like how Arcade is still a thing, Game Center stays in charge of its own portion of duties. The Games App kind of just combines all of them for ease-of-use. And you know what? That's great, honestly. Though, I'd also appreciate having less icons to worry about, but maybe that's just me. What do you think about the new Games App? Would you use it? I'm not huge on social features in games, but I can't pretend: it's a hit with certain groups. And if it helps them do what they love more easily: then power to them, and GG to Apple for making it happen.
