Now, Aryan's team is set to represent India at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8 to August 24. The tournament boasts a staggering global prize pool of $70.45 million (approximately Rs 605 crore) - one of the biggest ever in e-sports history.
Speaking to NDTV, Aryan said, "Four rounds were held in Delhi. I had formed my team with players from different cities. Winning this means a lot. The prize money will be transferred within 90 days. My dream now is to perform well in Saudi Arabia on the global stage."
Aryan, who is pursuing B.Tech at Alpine College, credited his family, especially his mother, for supporting his passion for gaming from a young age. "When I used to play mobile games at home, my mother supported me. Today, I'm glad I could make her proud," Aryan said with a smile.
His mother, Meenakshi Chauhan, admitted she was unsure initially about his gaming obsession. "At first, I wasn't happy seeing him play so much. But then I realized he was serious about it. That's when we decided not to stop him. Today, seeing him win such a big tournament, I'm truly proud."
With the international stage now calling, Aryan and his teammates will carry India's hopes as they take on the world's best esports athletes in Saudi Arabia.

Ganguly sends blunt message to Gill, Gambhir after Kuldeep is overlooked for England Tests: 'Without quality spin...'
Kuldeep Yadav ended up getting sidelined for the entire tour of England despite India making four changes to their XI for the series final at The Oval, and former India captain Sourav Ganguly felt the left-arm wrist spinner is someone who is 'crucial' for Indian cricket and needs to be persisted with. read more Former India captain Sourav Ganguly felt left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav deserved to be included in India's playing XI at some point in the five-match Test series in England. Image: PTI/Reuters Former India captain Sourav Ganguly gave current skipper Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir a reminder of Kuldeep Yadav's value after the left-arm wrist spinner was sidelined for the entirety of the five-match Test series in England. Kuldeep was relegated to the bench for the fifth time in as many games despite India making four changes to their XI for the series finale, with captain Gill and coach Gambhir opting to stick with all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar as their spin options. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'I think England went with four fast bowlers. They left a bit of grass on the wicket — I'm presuming that was deliberate. India have had quality spinners like Jadeja and Ashwin in the past. I really wish Kuldeep had played in Manchester, at Lord's, and even in Birmingham. Without quality spin, it's hard to bowl a team out on Day 5,' former BCCI president Ganguly told reporters at an event in Kolkata on Thursday. Ganguly, incidentally, isn't the only former Indian cricketer batting in favour of Kuldeep's inclusion in England; batting icon Sunil Gavaskar as well as spin legends Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh too had made similar statements recently, with Harbhajan having called for his inclusion from the series opener at Headingley. Kuldeep 'crucial for India's future', says Ganguly 'Dada', for one, felt the 30-year-old is someone who is 'crucial' for India's future and needs to be persisted with. 'We saw what happened when India batted — there wasn't a top-class spinner in England's attack, and they couldn't take wickets. In the past, teams had great spinners — whether it was Warne, Muralitharan, England's Swann and Panesar, or even our own Harbhajan and Kumble. Kuldeep is someone India must persist with. He's crucial for our future,' he added. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant sat out of the final Test at The Oval due to workload management and a foot fracture respectively, while all-rounder Shardul Thakur and pacer Anshul Kamboj were benched. The visitors brought Dhruv Jurel, Karun Nair, Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna in their place, with Akash returning to action after missing the fourth Test in Manchester due to fitness issues. Nair, meanwhile, returns to the lineup after being left out of the XI at Old Trafford, and possibly has a final shot at saving his place in the Test team, having made his comeback after an eight-year absence earlier in the ongoing series. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD England captain Ollie Pope, filling in for the injured Ben Stokes, opted to field after India lost the toss for the 15th consecutive time in international cricket.

Jamil tipped to get India coach's job
Kolkata: Khalid Jamil is likely to be the first Indian in over 13 years to be named head coach of the men's senior national football team when the executive committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) meets virtually on Friday. Khalid Jamil is set to be the first Indian in over 13 years to be named head coach of the men's senior national team. (Sportzpics/ISL) Jamil, 48, is now overseeing his club Jamshedpur FC's campaign in the 134th Durand Cup. If appointed, his first assignment should be the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Nations Cup from August 31. Along with Stephen Constantine and Stefan Tarkovic, Jamil is in the final shortlist handed over to the executive committee on July 23. From 170 applications, the list was pruned by national team director Subrata Paul, AIFF technical director Syed Sabir Pasha, and the federation's technical committee headed by IM Vijayan. Bimal Ghosh and Armando Colaco, advisors to AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, also gave inputs. While Tarkovic and Constantine have been national team coaches – a requirement that will be given preference, as per the advertisement issued by AIFF on July 4 – what could swing the argument in favour of Jamil is that he would need the least time to bed-in. Tarkovic has never coached in India and that effectively puts the 52-year-old Slovak, who has European championship finals experience and whose last assignment with Kyrgyzstan ended in June 2024, third in the pecking order. Constantine, 62, has been India head coach twice, from 2002-05 and 2015-19. The Anglo-Cypriot was also in charge of East Bengal in the Indian Super League in 2022-23 but the club's ninth-place finish could put him at a disadvantage. Constantine took charge of Pakistan in 2023 and though they won a first World Cup qualifier (against Cambodia) under him, it turned out to be his only win in 10 matches in charge. Jamil led Jamshedpur FC to the ISL semi-final and Super Cup final last term and has not lost in the Durand Cup. In short, if current form is the consideration, the former India international is the favourite despite his lack of international experience and working with a changing room full of big names. 'The fact that he would also cost the least is an advantage,' said an AIFF executive committee member on Thursday. 'If the only Indian coach to make the ISL semi-finals twice does not get a chance, who should,' said another member. Not authorised to speak to the media, the members did not want to be named. The last Indian coach to head the national team was Savio Medeira, who was in charge from October 2011 to March 2012.
