Fan Told To Cover Pakistan Shirt In Manchester, Lancashire Opens Investigation
A fan was asked to cover his Pakistan cricket jersey at Old Trafford during the India-England Test. Upset, he left the ground. Lancashire is investigating the incident.
A fan at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground was 'asked' to cover his Pakistan cricket jersey-like shirt during the fourth Test between India and England.
Pakistan media identified him as Farooq Nazar. He posted a video on social media that showed a member of the security staff at the ground requesting him to cover the shirt, a replica of Pakistan's green limited-overs kit.
'I've been asked by control if you can cover that shirt up, please," a guard can be heard saying in the video. Later, another steward can be heard saying the shirt 'might be considered nationalistic'. However, visibly upset by the demand, the fan left the ground instead of following the suggestion
A spokesperson for Lancashire, the county that owns and maintains the stadium, said in a statement that they were looking into it.
'We are aware of the incident referenced and are taking steps to understand the facts and context surrounding the matter fully," they said.
This comes at a time when India-Pakistan relations are at a low. The countries haven't played bilateral cricket in years and a recent match between retired veterans for a private league had to be canceled after backlash. The two teams will play in the 2025 Asia Cup and the Women's World Cup, however.
Old Trafford witnessed a spectacle
Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja batted for over two sessions to rescue India from the verge of a crushing defeat and secure a memorable draw, keeping the fiercely contested series alive ahead of the decider at The Oval.
After conceding a 311-run lead and losing both openers for ducks in the second innings, India showed remarkable grit to salvage a result, thanks largely to skipper Shubman Gill (103 off 238), K L Rahul (90 off 230), Jadeja (107* off 185) and Washington (101* off 206).
With home skipper Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer dismissing a set Gill and Rahul in the morning, England eyed a series-clinching win, but Jadeja and Washington dug deep before steadily rotating strike to frustrate the bowlers late in the day.

He Has Ability To Rattle The Opposition...: Sachin Tendulkars Special Praise For THIS Indian Star After His Heroics In England
Legendary Sachin Tendulkar lavished praise on veteran India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for his impressive performance in the recently concluded 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England. As per Tendulkar, Jadeja is the one player who manages to rattle the opposition. During the series against England, ICC No.1 Ranked Test all-rounder Jadeja scored 516 runs at an average of 85 while batting exclusively at No. 6 or lower down the order, making him the first Indian to score over 500 runs in a Test series at these positions. Apart from his runs, Jadeja also took seven wickets, including a four-wicket haul in the fourth Test at Manchester. "He (Jadeja) has the ability to rattle the opposition either through his fielding or batting or bowling and can make something happen in every match. He has an organized gameplay, knows what to play when and uses his experience brilliantly," said Tendulkar in a video interaction on Reddit. "He is right up there as my crucial player in the series, was amazing with the bat throughout. Simple game, great results," he added. The former India batter was also in awe of Washington Sundar's ability to switch gears and his contribution towards the team whenever he was given the chance. "The series was alive when he was getting his maiden Test century and it was fine that they (Sundar and Jadeja) continued to bat. They didn't come in to bat thinking they will score hundreds, they came in to bat with the mindset of drawing the Test. Bowling (Harry) Brook wasn't his (Sundar's) fault and he didn't face Brook when he started to bat," said Tendulkar. "They also had to tire out England players going into the last match since the series didn't have a result yet. In the last Test, he accelerated, giving India crucial runs to defend. So he knows when to bat slowly and when to accelerate, not to forget his wicket-taking abilities during vital moments," he added. After the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy in England, India will next play Test cricket against West Indies in October, followed by a two-Test series against South Africa in November.

India vs Pakistan: Asia Cup 2025 match will not be cancelled due to...
India vs Pakistan. (PIC - X) Indian men's cricket team will travel to the United Arab Emirates in September to play the 2025 Asia Cup. Indian men's cricket team will start their campaign on September 10 against the UAE in Dubai and then arch-rivals Pakistan in their second Group A match on Sunday, September 14 in the Asia Cup 2025. Where and when is India vs Pakistan? India's previous T20I match was played against Pakistan on June 9, 2024, at New York in the T20 World Cup 2024. The India-Pakistan game in Dubai on September 14 is also likely to go ahead as scheduled by the Asia Cup committee despite strained relations between the two countries. What do Indian fans want? The majority of Indian supporters believe that Men in Blue do not have to play against Pakistan and can just leave the game like India Champion players did in the recently concluded World Championship of Legends. Why India vs Pakistan will not be cancelled? But according to Subhan Ahmed, chief operating officer of Emirates Cricket Board, the same is not going to happen in the Asia Cup. 'We can't make any guarantees, but comparing the Asia Cup against a private event like the WCL is not a like comparison,' Subhan was quoted as saying by The National. 'When decisions to play in the Asia Cup are taken, government permissions are taken in advance. That has definitely been done before arriving at the decision of announcing the schedule for the countries. So hopefully we won't be in a situation as there was at the WCL,' he added. What's the Asia Cup 2025 schedule?
