A motorcyclist is dead following a collision with a vehicle on Friday afternoon, Calgary police said. Police said the collision happened at around 4 p.m. at 12th Avenue and Centre Street N. in Crescent Heights. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition, before being pronounced dead, police said. No information is available on the condition of the other driver. Traffic at 12th Avenue and Centre Street N. was closed in both directions until further notice, and remained closed as of 7:30 p.m. Friday. Police are investigating the incident.

Three people from Ohsweken facing drug trafficking charges

Six Nations Police have seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone as part of an investigation into drug trafficking. On Wednesday, police arrested three people who were in a vehicle on Sour Springs Road after they noticed the trio had outstanding warrants. During the arrest, officer said they saw illegal drugs out in the open. They seized a Glock handgun with an extended magazine, fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone and methamphetamine. The next day, Six Nations Police searched a home on Pine Crescent and two vehicles on the property. They said more drugs were seized. In total, police said they found 73.7 grams of fentanyl, 107.4 grams of cocaine, 21.8 grams of methamphetamine and 55 hydromorphone pills. A 28-year-old, a 35-year-old and a 38-year-old, all from Ohsweken, have been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of careless use of a firearm or weapon, authorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of break and enter instruments.
