Project stars Georgie Tunny and Susie Youssef break down as they say goodbye to the axed show on second last episode
The Project's Georgie Tunny was left in tears during the show's second last episode ever on Thursday night.
Georgie, 34, became emotional after a segment in which long time panellist, Susie Youssef, visited a Melbourne primary school.
The kids featured were asked by the comedian about the best way to 'say goodbye' to the people they care about.
At one point one of the cute tots turned tables and asked Susie what she would say to The Project team as the show faces cancellation on Friday.
'I would tell the people that I worked with that I loved them and I was really grateful for all the experience they gave me' she said.

She continued, 'And I would say its not really goodbye because I'm going to see them again hopefully on a show that pays us all a lot of money.'
After the filmed segment was over the show returned to the live panel with Susie and co-host Waleed Aly, but Georgie was barely able to continue.
'I'm gone already, I'm gone,' Georgie said, wiping away tears, before gushing over Susie's touching segment.
Meanwhile, Susie also appeared emotional as she paid tribute to the show.
It comes after Sarah Harris has broken down as The Project enters its final days after being axed.
The host was left in tears live on air when Kate Langbroek praised the the series for being a maverick in the world of current affairs.
'In an industry where so much is planned and you are so straitjacketed in so many ways because of the necessities of TV. I don't know how you break all these structures and rules' she said.
That was enough to set Sarah off, leaving her swatting away tears as she confessed, 'You got me.'

Sarah said that Kate was 'inspiring' and added: 'I will be a sheep follow you around. You are magic.'

Elsewhere in the episode, Sarah hinted that she may appear on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! once her time on The Project ends.
'I'm an unemployed celebrity, of course the jungle is coming for me' she said during a satirical segment in which Sarah joked she would look into a stand up comedy career.
The Project will air its final episode with on Friday night.
It was announced earlier this month that The Project would be pulled from the schedule after 16 years and more than 4,500 episodes.
Its final episode is set to air on June 27, and will be replaced by a single national 6pm news bulletin.
The Project hosts Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris and Hamish Macdonald are set to exit the network, while comedian Taunton will continue his guest appearances on other Ten shows.
The premium news program, titled 10 NEWS+, is set to hit screens on Monday, June 30, at 6pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

They then played out a clip from the episode and she continued: 'This makes me very emotional. 'This moment was the moment me and my sister learnt about my grandfather, was was actually a soldier in World War Two. 'He was fighting, he fought for the British. 'They promised all these young black men, you're going to war, you're going to fight for the country, come back and get land, be loved, celebrated. They came back, they gave them boots and eradicated them and left them in the middle of nowhere. So that is the history.' She added: 'I think if you see the clip, we cried all our makeup off, it was so heartbreaking. but also so liberating, whether its good or bad, you know where you come from. 'I always believe the roots of where you come from give you the power and the encouragement and confidence to enter the room and go for your future. 'Now I know I am a granddaughter of a soldier. 'My great great aunt was a princess and it went down into royalty.' They then played out that exact moment and Oti couldn't contain her emotion. The dancer burst into tears as she Nadia praised her family for their hard efforts. Back in 2023, Oti and Motsi broke down in tears as they were finally told information about their grandfather following a DNA test. The sisters took part in the show Oti and Motsi Mabuse's DNA Journey in a bid to learn more about their family history. The Strictly Come Dancing stars became emotional as they were given medals their grandfather received for his work in the armed forces and they also learned they are distantly related to Nelson Mandela. In one heartwarming clip from the show, Oti and Motsi wipe away tears as a man shared their grandfather's family history. Oti said: 'It's a good thing, it's an amazing thing. Please don't think we're sad. One of the missing pieces that we've missed and needed to hear for so long, it's a beautiful thing. We're so grateful. These are tears of, "Oh my God!"' The man replied: 'You've got a lot to be proud of and all the good deeds your grandfather has done.' Motsi then read out some of the honours their grandfather received, saying: 'Defence Medal British, war medal and an African Service medal.' Hundreds of diehard AC/DC fans braved the cold winter conditions in Melbourne on Thursday in an attempt to grab the best seats for the rock legends show at the MCG. Rock enthusiasts were ecstatic earlier this week when the Australian rockers announced they were headed Down Under this Spring for the first time in a decade. The iconic band, formed in 1973, are set to play a string of massive stadium shows Down Under in November and December. Fans stood for hours outside the Ticketek outlet in Melbourne, many chatting or scrolling their phones as they wait for the box office to open. Once tickets sales were open it was a floorer from Melbourne, Shane Merrett, who managed to score the first ticket sold.
